Updates and stuff

Hey, I'll start by thanking anyone who has read or purchased one of my books via KU/Amazon, the feedback has been positive, I just need that to translate in to reviews.

All my books are out in audio now, and again I thank anyone who has purchased one.

Now for the part that will either pique interest or make you yawn. I have just sent my new release over to KU and it's available for pre-order and will be out on 14th October 2018. This one is a follow up to Eli's Rebellion and as such Steve Sloan: New Beginnings. Steve Sloan: Aftermath is the third book in this series and follows Steve and the gang as they deal with the events that transpired in Eli's Rebellion.

Steve Sloan: Aftermath

Hey, I thought I'd share a small snippet from my upcoming release Steve Sloan: Aftermath.

Chapter 8

Andrew

I woke early as I was being prodded in the back, either I had been captured and was about to be invaded by sexual deviants or Ore’axe was trying to get my attention. Thankfully it was Ore’axe and my sexual innocence hadn’t been forcibly taken by a bunch of oddball perverts. I rolled over and faced the young dark-elf, before I had uttered a word Ore’axe spoke quietly, “It is our turn to take watch.” I groaned rubbing sleep from my eyes, “Already, give me five minutes.”

Once the requested five minutes had passed I was wide awake and dragged myself from the tent and joined Blai, Elain, and Ore’axe at the fire, “We will see you in a few hours,” Elain said as she stood, “There is soup in the pot if you want it.” I smiled and ushered the lovers off as I knew they would need rest if they were to be one-hundred-percent for today’s inaugural dungeon crawl.

Now alone with my brother from another mother I asked him, “You want soup?” he nodded, and I dished up, the soup smelled heavenly. From what I could make out the warm broth contained meat and veg chunks as well as a plethora of herbs and spices. Now fully nourished I rose to my feet and patrolled the camp, call me paranoid but I preferred to be alert and mobile when on guard duty. I know others have different methods and techniques, but I hated the thought of being ambushed because of idleness or a lapse in concentration.

Dawn had just broken when for the first time since arriving on Theera one of our camps had been breached. The proverbial shit was about to hit the metaphorical fan, “Ore’axe, wake Steve!” I yelled, “We have incoming.” Seconds later I heard, “Oh, for the love of Matt Damon’s ab’s, what do you want you pest?” “Andy told me to wake you.” I heard Ore’axe say. Less than a minute later Steve still half asleep joined me, he was trailed by Blain and Ore’axe, “What! This had better be good? I was having a very pleasant dream.” I slapped Steve across his right cheek and pointed ahead, “Look!” I said seriously.

Steve flinched and said trying to hide his fear, “Not fucking spiders!” he went on, “I hate spiders with a passion.” I grinned and filled everyone in, “I count three big assed motherfuckers and four smaller ones.” “Quality!” Blain exclaimed, “I love eight legged beasts, I studied every book in the palace library while I lived there.” I grabbed Blain by the shoulder and positioned him, so he was able to visually see the ugly oversized monstrosities. I counted down three, two, one and, “Oh, fucking hell.” Blain screamed, “I am not, I repeat I am not going anywhere near them things.” Ore’axe spoke up, “I will wake the ladies, as you lot are being a bunch of wimps.” he then hurried away and returned a minute later with his bow and affixed quiver of arrows.

Three minutes later the gang was equipped and ready for what can only be described as one of the most unwanted battles in our short history on Theera. “Right, listen up.” Steve said, “I’m going to try and pull two of the smaller ones at a time. When we’ve dealt with the itty-bitty freaks I’ll…” Andy cut in, “Shit yourself in fear.” “Well, yeah, but I wasn’t going to say that. I was going to suggest try cornering them and reigning spells, arrows, and everything else we have upon them.

Our mothers meeting was cut short and the plans we had made went up in flames as the spiders noticed us and headed in our direction.

“Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.” Steve yelled as he and I took point and the other guys started their ranged attacks. Blain was staying back, the cowardly custard. This meant we were down a man. Steve shot off a thunderbolt quickly followed up by a fireball, he then encaged two of the smaller spiders in a cage of thick, sturdy vines. This didn’t kill them, but it temporarily took them out the fight.

Elain and Ore’axe peppered the last of the small spiders with arrows, much to Steve’s relief that killed it as one of the pairs scored a critical, “Oh, you mother-fucking bastard!” Steve cried as the beast he was bombarding magically refused to buckle under the barrage of spells. I took it upon myself to end the arachnids life, I ran towards the spider and leaped in the air and plunged my great sword into the cephalothorax once, twice, three times, the spider fell limp and lifelessly to the ground and I jumped from the body and re-joined the party.
