Teeth
Timothy James Dean does a wonderful job of putting the reader into his novel Teeth. Though the title and back cover description puts the reader into believing that the story is mainly about a gigantic alligator hunting down a rescue party. It truly is about life and survival in New Guinea during those final weeks of World War 2. I found myself impressed with Timothy’s style and genius, and gladly read deep into the night to see if the novel’s heroes would be victorious in their mission or die at the hands of the headhunters that thrived across the New Guinea countryside.

Borrowed flesh is a winner
Borrowed Flesh by Sylvia Shults is passion filled story that I could not put down. I found myself enthralled in the life of Claire Elliston as she searches for the answers to the disappearance of Melody Sobel, a twelve year old girl who vanished in the school halls of Our Lady of the Angels. Unluckily for Claire the demon that thrives in these halls, takes interest in her and her struggle begins.
From page one I was hooked and I can honestly say this story is on my five star list for the year. I can’t wait to read more of Sylvia’s work, and see only good things in her future as a writer.

midnight reflections
Katrina Michaels novel Midnight Reflections is an interesting look into a world where vampires and the supernatural coexist with what humans would call the normal world. Katrina shows us the life of Tara Daston who was killed and brought back to life in the dark world of the vampires. You follow her as she struggles to comes to terms with her new found life, and is unwillingly thrust into the middle of a serial killers nightmare.
Determined to survive and find out who is leaving bits and pieces of the victims for Tara to find. She joins up with the preternatural police and the hunt begins. But is it Tara that is the hunted. This novel is a good read for anyone who loves a good thriller or needs the supernatural edge to get by.

sci-fi at its best - Space Tripper's
Written with precision, detail, and an unyielding intensity, Aurora Lightbourne has created a unique story that drives the reader from page one. From the eyes of a young, but dynamic woman, named Valesque Rhaugh, you follow her tale as her ship is commandeered by the military. And she is swept along on a path that she has no choice but to follow.
Intense dialog and visual descriptions put the reader into the world that Aurora has created. I found myself unable to put the book down, and looking forward to reading the next novel in the Space Tripper’s series.

Rainy Nights
Rainy Nights by Justin Camp is a fun read for an evening of quick stories by the fire. Constructed with passion Justin gives the reader five short stories that leave the reader wanting more. I especially liked the story Backwoods, and found myself wishing that it was a full length novel. I see good things in the future for this new writer, and I am looking forward to read more of his work.

Review for The Girl Born of Smoke by Jessica Billings
The Girl Born of Smoke by Jessica Billings is an interesting tale of one girl’s struggle with a power she had tried to deny since birth. You follow her struggle with herself, her friends, and the family that she forms before the world that she knows thrusts her into a role of a powerful wizard even though she does not want it. Slow at the start, Jessica’s story picks up speed through out. Though a few continuity issues and typos are present, this story is a good read for a stormy night next to a crackling fire.

Mission to the Stars review
Mission to the Stars by Ted Iverson, is an epic journey into the future of the Bindl family and their pursuit to reach the speed of faster than light. Ted gives us the insight on surviving son’s who are suffering the great tragedy of losing one’s parents while perusing their dreams. Who is behind this murderous plot, and what do they want with the technology that the Bindl boys are trying to reclaim?
I found myself rooting for the Bindle boys as they worked their way through the perils of space, and the government that they were being chased by. Ted’s got a good handle on a story that has unlimited possibilities in future books. His outlook and creativity makes the reader fall into place wanting to help the heroes, and cringe when they fall short. I highly recommend this novel to any fan of science fiction.

Dark Justice Review
Crafted with precision, Donnie Light has made Dark Justice an intriguing adventure. The Hunted review
The Hunted of 2060 is a fast paced novel by Ami Blackwelder set in Alaska. The future comes to life as hybrid humans struggle to survive in a world that does not understand them. The foundation that Ami has created is a fresh look at the future that sweeps the reader to an unexpected climax. As an avid reader I found myself struggling with the first portion of Ami's work, and feel that this is not the high caliber of writing that Ami has produced in the past. But if you’re looking for a quick evening read and characters that you can connect too, The Hunted of 2060 is for you.
