Why did I publish my first novel.
Why? Well the answer is simple. My whole life writing has been something that I have loved to do. Since the 6th grade I began jotting down stories and ideas. I still do that, notebooks over flowing with napkins, stray peices of paper, all taped together in order.
In my teen age years of playing in a heavy metal band to working in a music store. I still wrote. Though at that time thoughts of being a author were far fetched. It was not until my twenties that I thought of actually getting published. And so I started 'Sense of Honor', and another novel. That I may one day dust off and let it see the light of day.
But life has its ups and downs, and for years I did not write. And let me tell you those years were not my most happiest.Then late one night a idea hit me, and BOOM I began writing again. Pen in hand, notebook at the ready, I finished 'Sense of Honor', and today my next novel 'Dragon's Chest' is done.
Knowing that the industry is fickle, and if a publisher doesnt make a million off of your work overnight they dont want you. So I decided to publish 'Sense of Honor' on my own thru iUniverse. Giving me the control on all aspects of my work.
Do I want to sell a million copies, yes. Do I want to be self suficiant as a author, yes. Do I know the road is rocky and filled with potholes along the way, yes. But I am willing to do it. Because for once in my life I am happy at what I am trying to do, and will continue to do wether I have 1 reader or a thousand.
