Eliminating the Drama & Chaos to Find Authentic Happiness
We need to be conscious of the external environment we create for ourselves as we move toward happiness and fulfillment in our life. Often times the environment that suited us in the past is not the one that will suit us in the future. The current state of our life is the result of the decisions we have made in the past. If we want a different future – we have to change the way we are living in the moment. Enjoy the video!

Eliminating the Drama & Chaos – VIDEO TRANSCRIPT
Today, I’d like to talk to you about something very specific that gets between where we are and where we want to be. You see, we tend to believe that it’s one big thing that determines whether we’re happy or fulfilled in life. It’s the perfect spouse, the perfect job, the right amount of money. But, in and of of itself those things cannot determine our happiness. Well, first of all we know that happiness comes from the inside out, and more important than that there’s a lot to do with all the little things that make all difference. In fact, there’s millions of things that contribute to our overall well-being and happiness.
There’s one in particular that I want to talk about today that makes a big difference in finding happiness in any given moment and that’s our environment. Not just the house we live in, but it’s the people we surround ourselves by, the drama we buy into, and the chaos with which we live our life. You see, if we were a recovering alcoholic and we came out of rehab, we wouldn’t go back and hang out with the same people we hung out with before that helped us to become an alcoholic to begin with, if we wanted to become sober. You see, but in our life if we want something different we can’t always hang out with the same people. Sometimes we have to move forward. We have to surround ourselves with people that see us in the light that we want to be seen by.
For example, if you’re not fully happy and invested in the way your life is right now, oftentimes the people around you may not be supporting or fulfilling where you are. We’re often surrounded by people who support us and people who, maybe tear us down a little bit. It’s not always one or the other, but we always have a little bit of both in our life. But we have a choice about who we’re going to spend our time with. And if we really want to create our life in a positive, supportive, fulfilled way, we often need to spend time with the people, the environment, and things that really support that part of ourselves.
The other part of environment is the chaos and drama we surround ourselves with, whether it’s the news, the newspaper, the people at the water cooler that are telling us stories, the drama, or the reputation management you almost have to fulfill in any kind of workplace. You see, managing our environment is almost as important as managing our INvironment, what’s happening inside of us, because you have to surround yourself with people and things that support who you are in your life.
You’re never really going to step into who you really want to be, while you are in an abusive relationship, while you’re surrounded by co-workers that really don’t see you for who you are, when you are in a dynamic that really isn’t fulfilling who you want to be. So, if you really want to find happiness and fulfillment, you have to start by being honest about the people that you surround yourself with, that you’re spending time with, about the environment that you’ve created for yourself – nd it might mean that you make some changes on the outside.
We’ve talked a lot about changing from the inside out. We know that happiness can only be found on the inside. Yet, there are many things that can be done on the outside that determine whether we’re able to fulfill that part of ourselves from the inside out. We have to pay attention to the things that we’re doing, the people we’re spending time with, how we are getting caught up in the drama in this world. Because we know there’s so much drama. You turn on the news and there’s so many negative things, so much politics, so many things that take us out of our positive space.
But if those things don’t support who you are and where you’re going in your life, then there’s a power button to turn it off. And that’s really the opportunity we have in this life, to choose something different. If you don’t like where your life is, if you don’t like where your life is going, you can change it. Sometimes it feels like you’re not in control, but I’m here to tell you that you are. And in fact you’re the only one who is. There’s really nobody else in this entire world that can fix it for you.
You can believe in God, you can believe in anything that you want. But at some point you have to take ownership and responsibility for the choices that you’ve made, especially if you want to make different choices that are going to impact your future in a different way. So you see, you really are in the driver seat, I really am in a driver seat of my life. And if you can accept that, that sense of empowerment allows you to make different choices. You get to choose who you’re going to spend time with, where you’re going to work, how you’re going to be, how you’re going to live, how you’re going to act in this life. It’s those factors alone, alone, that determine whether you’re happy and fulfilled in life.
That’s really what it comes down to. It’s a lot simple that we think it is, it’s who we’re choosing to be and how we’re taking ourselves, our inner self, our truth, the fullness of who we are, out into the world to be and become everything we want to be. It’s not pie in the sky, in fact it could happen in every given moment, it happens right now. With the choices that you make right after you watch this video your life will either continue in the path that you’ve created over the last years, decades, or since you’ve been born, or it will take a very different course and you get to choose that. So, I hope you choose wisely, consciously with awareness. Choose something that fulfilling and inspiring. Surround yourself with people that help lift you up and not bring you down.
I hope you found this video helpful in your life in finding happiness and fulfillment and until next time…many blessings!

How To Get What You Want In Life – VIDEO TRANSCRIPT
Hi, this is Seth David Chernoff, award-winning author of the Manual for Living.Today, I’d like to talk to you about something significant. How we actually get from where we are to where we want to be?
You see, we all generally have dreams and desires…things that we want out of our life. Perhaps, it’s our physical well-being. Maybe it’s a financial prosperity that allows us to have freedom in our life. Maybe it’s a way that we relate to others, our relationships, our work-life. We generally have things that we want in our life, and we always have things that we don’t want as well. Maybe we don’t want death, we don’t want disharmony, drama, chaos…we try to move away from the things we don’t want and move closer to the things that we do want. Yet, in order to move anywhere in our life, we have to be willing to let go of where we are.
So, today I want to give you some tools to how to get to that place without getting stuck in the minutia. You see, we often get stuck in the details. We are in a relationships that’s not everything that we want it to be. Yet, we don’t know how to get out of it. Or we’re in a job that really isn’t fulfilling us, yet we feel stuck and unfulfilled. So, let’s step out of the minutia into the bigger picture if you will. So, I want to give you some tools and strategies that you can apply to your life right now at no cost that will help you find that greater sense of happiness and fulfillment.
You see, we all want more at our life. We are all looking, we’re all seekers. Looking for something bigger, and better, and brighter for our life. You see, each of us is here for a reason. It’s not just chance or happenstance that we’re here. It’s not just a fluke that you happen to be watching my video. You’re looking for something more. We all are. But in order to find something more, we have to be willing to look honestly at our life where it is right now. And also be willing to look for something better or something more. And it doesn’t mean that you can’t accept where you are and be grateful for where you are. But you have a dream and desire that’s unfulfilled. You have to find a way to obtain and achieve that in order to find happiness and fulfillment.
So, I’d like to give you a tool and strategy you can apply right now. Here’s something you can do. Take a white sheet of paper, I happen to have one right here – it looks like this. I’m sure you’ve all seen one before. Nothing fancy about it, nothing on the front, nothing on the back. This sheet of paper represents your future present, your future life. It’s anything you want it to be, there’s nothing on it. Nobody can tell you what needs to be on this piece of paper. Only you know. And only you get to determine what gets on this piece of paper. But you see, in order to have a plan you have to first determine where you are going. What’s your destination? So this is the place you get to do that, and you’re going to do that in every part of your life.
For example, your physical well-being. Take a moment to list every part of your life that you’d like to have regarding your physical well-being. Would you like to be flexible, strong, have more energy, sleep less hours. Whatever it is, you’re going to put your goals down in the sheet of paper. Let’s say relating to your financial freedom. We all want freedom on our finances. We know that money can’t buy us happiness, yet we want the freedom that money can buy, so what is that look like for you? Well, write it down. What is financial freedom look like? Does it look being without debt? Does it look like having a nicer house, or car, or whatever it is? Write it down. Then cover every area of your life, your emotional well-being, your relationships, your work life, how you serve, how you live, everything that matters to you, and write down on this piece of paper.
Don’t get stuck in how you’re gonna get there, just focus on what it is. By writing it down, you’re basically setting a destination for your course in life. It’s kind of like if you’re sailing on the ocean, you’re on a beautiful sailboat and the waves are just rolling underneath the sailboat, you have to have some course setting for you to actually plan your life. And that’s what this is. The goal is for you to set that destination and little by little your life will unfold. I know if you’re anything like me you’ve been to tremendous challenges. And in the moment, you didn’t know how you gonna get through it. You just knew that you were stuck, and you didn’t know what decision to make, and you didn’t how to get from where you were to that next place in your life. Well, this is one of the best ways that I know to help you get there. You just write down what you’re looking for in your life. That’s all you do. It’s really not that hard, it only takes a few minutes. And once you have that written out, what you’re gonna do is reference it, as often as you need, to remember why it is that you do what you do, and what really matters to you.
You see, if we’re all looking for happiness and fulfillment, we have to be willing to let go of where we are in order to get to that place that get us closer to that sense of well-being and happiness. So, how do you do that? How do you actually take that step forward? Well, that can be scary. I know a lot of times change is scary, because where we are feels safe, mediocrity – feels safe, pettiness – feels safe, repeating the patterns of yesterday – feels safe. But doing something daring and risky, and moving forward in your life, and letting go of where you are, to get to where you want to be, takes courage, takes strength, and it’s everything that you’re hear to do and be. So, I hope you found this video useful. I hope you give me some feedback and insights on anything you’d like to hear about or have me to talk about in the future. And until next time, many blessings!

Overcoming Stress and Worry - VIDEO TRANSCRIPT
Hi, this is Seth David Chernoff, award-winning author of the Manual for Living.
Today, I’d like to talk to you about stress. Stress, and how stress stands in a way of where you want to be in your life. You see, if we all naturally want to be happy and fulfilled in our lives, in our relationships, in our work life, we have to understand the power that stress has over us, and how it actually stands in the way of our own happiness. But you see, we’re each going to face obstacles in our life, that’s just part of what life is all about. We’re all going to face challenges, we all have a whole litany of things that we have to do, and we’re all going to be worried from time to time. But you see we have to manage that worry and manage that stress, or it absolutely will stand in the way of where we want to be in our life.
Now, what is stress look like? What is it feel like? Well, it looks kind of like your shoulders are up a little high, your face tense, in your eyes and hands… What is lack of stress look like? It looks like release. It looks like your shoulders are relaxed, like your breathing…not those short breathes, but those deep fulfilling breathes. It looks like your face is relaxed. It looks likes you have intention about what you’re doing in life. You’re not hurried, you’re not being reactive to your life, and in fact you’re just being present to what the world has to offer.
Now, let’s talk about stress. Again, we’re all going to face challenges in our life but we tend to worry about things that we can’t control. So, let’s go through what we can control. Number 1 is who we choose to be in any given moment…basically, who we’re being. Number 2 are the actions that we take. So, based on who we’re being, what are we going to say, what are we going to do, how we’re going to act in our life. Now, beyond those things, there’s nothing we can control. Again, we only control who we’re being and the actions that we’re taking. Yet we worry about everything. We worry about our kids, our boss, our co-workers, our spouse, our house. We worry about everything. Yet, we have no control over those things.
We can influence, we can share, we can love, we can give, but we have no direct impact over anything outside of our self. So, why do we worry? Because we get attached to outcome. We want things to look a certain way, we want them to feel a certain way. And by doing that, we think we’re going to feel better about ourselves. That if things outside of our self end up in a certain way, then we will feel better on the inside. But that’s not how it works. Life is lived from the inside out. Our only ability to impact life our outside life is from the inside out. It’s from who we’re choosing to be.
So, our ability to release stress, to release worry is to let go of our task being to outcome. Let go of how we think the world has to look. Let go of how we think our boss has to treat us, or how our spouse has to treat us. Just focus on who you’re being. If you’ve ever been in the forest, you know that the big healthy trees…they sway with the wind, they relax and the wind just sways them naturally. The sick trees, the dead trees, they’re rigid, and eventually when the wind blows, they break. Well, in our life, we have to be fluid. We have to be willing to let go of our attachment to the way life looks and just allow the fluidity of life to takeover, because life’s going to work out exactly the way it supposed to. So, focus on yourself, on who you’re being, and the actions that you’re taking.
Today, I put you in the Caribbean, that’s my image back here. You might tell me… “Seth, the Caribbean, that’s totally unrealistic. I’m stuck in my life, in my minivan with the kids screaming, and I’m rushing off to soccer practice, and to work.” Yes, well this is your inner vacation. This is where you go in the inside. That’s where I go. When I need a moment of peace, because again we all feel stress from time to time, this is where you go. But you find the place that’s within you, this is the place that I go to find peace, to find relaxation.
Now I invite you, just to focus on your inner self. When you feel stress…breathe. When you feel worry taking over…relax, relax your face muscles, relax your shoulders, relax your body. It’s only from that place that you can think clearly. And thinking clearly is what you need to connect with your intuition, to listen to your truth, and to make better decisions.
I hope you have found this video about stress helpful on your life. Until next time…many blessings!
