Fresh Fiction Review!
A new review of MOB RULES is up at Fresh Fiction! There's nothing more rewarding than a well-written review in which it's clear the reviewer really enjoyed the book. Going to try to climb down from Cloud 9 and do some writing, now.

MOB RULES earned 4.5 stars ("Fantastic. A keeper.") from RT Book Reviews Magazine! This is a subscription print magazine and the online version is behind the firewall, so I'm asking permission before I add the review (or an excerpt) to the Reviews page. But, needless to say, I'm stoked!

It's here…
I received my author's copies of MOB RULES yesterday! It doesn't really show up in the photo, but it's a nice matte cover with a glossy title treatment — very stylish. I feel like celebrating, but instead I'm working on SKELETON CREW. No rest for the wicked.

Skeleton Crew
My editor is expecting Book 2 in the Underworld Cycle next month, and I'm racing down the final stretch. I'm really pleased with the way it's coming together — it has more of a thriller plot, and it's a lot of fun to write. Release is tentatively scheduled for May 2011.

Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance
Recently, I've read and even participated in several discussions about the difference between urban fantasy and paranormal romance. These discussions can get a little heated. No matter how careful you are, when you talk about how you like one thing and not another, it's easy to come off like you're running that other thing down.
However unfortunate that is, I think it's something that writers, publishers, and booksellers should be conscious of. As I've said before, urban fantasy is a mashup...
