Back in 2009, my first book, The Witcher Legacy, was published through a POD publisher. I was so excited to finally see my book in print that I went ahead and published the rest of the series through this company.

So what that the print cost and eventually the price of the Kindle version was set so high that no one but my family and friends would buy copies? Who cared that in the end I bought copies that I gave away? And of course, I wouldn't expect them to do ALL of my PR work for me; I would have to work a little harder and learn the ropes and eventually, I would make a profit.

In the end, I learned my lesson, and went completely Indie when it came time to start publishing my Nightshade series.

In 2012, I was able to reacquire the publishing rights to The Witcher Legacy. The manuscript sat in my computer files for almost two years before I opened it again. You see, at the time, I noticed that a lot of authors were reissuing some of their earlier work after it had been re-written, re-edited, and updated, and I figured that was something I'd like to do with my virtually unknown first series.

Fast forward to late 2014/ early 2015, and I was starting to get messages from people interested in reading Witcher. But it wasn't ready. As 2015 progressed, more and more people were expressing interest in the book, and I found myself wanting to give them what they wanted. What ensued was a 6 month marathon of edits, rewrites, beta reads, and updating the likes of which I've never experienced. Some days went smooth as silk, and other days? Well, let's just say there were days when I didn't even want to THINK about this book, let alone work on it.

My biggest issue was finding the balance between rewriting the story to reflect the way my writing style has improved and matured over the years while still maintaining the original integrity of the story. I wanted to UPDATE it, not CHANGE it completely. I eventually found a happy median, and the last few weeks have flown by in a rush of fevered inspiration.

So now, my lovely readers, I can say with all happiness and excitement, that The Witcher Legacy, the first book of The Bounty Cove Chronicles is just DAYS away from release! I am so excited to bring you the story of Melissa Witcher and Michael Kemper! This story is based on an English class writing assignment given to me back when I was a sophomore in high school, and it's never left me.

So without further ado, I present to you the synopsis for The Witcher Legacy!


After a nomadic childhood with her mother, Melissa Witcher is ready to put down roots, despite the ghosts that haunt not only her new home but her family history as well.

Michael Kemper never saw her coming, and from the moment he meets Melissa Witcher, he finds himself ready to do whatever it takes to stay by her side.

When evil threatens not only their happiness but also their lives, Michael and Melissa will find themselves fighting for everything they hold dear.

Can love conquer all, or will the evil that sleeps deep within the old Witcher home destroy it?
