Guest author, Berengaria Brown
Variety is the spice of life. Berengaria Brown loves reading erotic romance, all different kinds of erotic romance. Two men, two women, two men and a woman, three men—But since her favorite authors could not write as fast as she could read, one day Berengaria decided to try writing a book herself. While she was waiting to hear back from the publisher she wrote another one, and another one. Now Berengaria is a multi-published author with books right across the spectrum of erotic romance. Whatever your taste, Berengaria has a book for you.
~Tasty tidbits about Berengaria~
What is your favorite season?Summer. Vacation. Need I say more? What is your favorite junk food?Chocolate. I love chocolate. What is your favorite movie?I love all the James Bond movies. I love all the James Bonds. I love the car chases, and the boat chases, and the explosions, and the hunky yummy heroes. What is your favorite color?Green. It speaks to me of grass and trees. Of freedom and relaxation.Have you ever gone commando (no underwear)?Absolutely!
~Q&A with Berengaria~
What genre/s do you write? Because I like to read all different genres, I write across the genres too. Most of my books are contemporary-set but several of them include paranormal elements, mostly ghosts, although I also have a werewolf coming out for Halloween. I also have a couple of Regency-set historicals coming soon. Most of my books are MMF ménage, but I also have a couple of lesbian erotic stories, one straight MF book, and an MMM. The werewolf is MM. What made you decide to write the genre you do? The characters dictate the stories. Likely the Regency-set books are because I have been a fan of Georgette Heyer for many years, but the ghosts just arrived. I was writing a straight MMF contemporary and the ghost just turned up and took over the book. When I decided to write a second book in that world, the ghost informed me that I was actually writing the story of one his relatives, and sure enough, another ghost appeared.
What is your latest book about? When did/does it come out? "Loving Lydia", is an f/f contemporary story which released on September 17th, 2010 from Breathless Press.
Tammy's sights are set and goals targeted. With one thing on her mind - Lydia - she will stop at nothing to satisfy every craving her body has for the seductive female, including showing up at the same gym for a chance encounter.
Lydia's career is in her pocket. Successful, motivated, and driven, Lydia realizes she wants more out of life than just her job. Aware of Tammy's intentions, Lydia decides to play along, at least until a cup of steaming hot coffee turns into a passionate night. Can she split her life between her career and Tammy?
Will Tammy be able to quench her thirst for Lydia with one night of hot sex, or will she be left wanting more?

What are your thoughts on eBook piracy? It is illegal. People caught and prosecuted are eligible for up to 5 years in federal prison and a fine of $250,000. (http://www.fbi.gov/ipr/). I wish people who simply think they are "sharing" realized they are taking the bread out of the mouths of authors, cover artists, editors and an entire industry, and understood just how selfish and short-sighted their actions are.
If you could go on a date with anyone (and I mean anyone) who would it be and why? James Bond. I have adored him since I first read Ian Fleming as a ten year old. Sean Connery, George Lazenby,· Roger Moore,· Timothy Dalton,· Pierce Brosnan,· Daniel Craig; all are totally delicious. Any of them would do. We would drive off in an Aston Martin, at high speed, and go somewhere outstanding for a delicious meal. He would have a martini, shaken, not stirred, and I would try very hard not to drool at him. During the evening someone would try to kill him but he would pull out a gadget that would let us escape and I would drive our getaway car. I've always wanted to drive a really expensive car recklessly, because I would be able to go the wrong way down one-way streets and maybe even drive it on water or leap it off a building. It would be awesome! We would, of course, end up in bed for the best sex of my life.
What is your writing day like?
Sadly, like so many other authors, I have a day job that pays the bills. So first thing in the mornings I check my email and may have a little time to read blogs or talk on chat loops. In the evenings I answer emails again, read blogs, chat on the loops and write. My stories need to be clear in my head before I actually write them, so there are times when I am mulling over characters and plot, rather than getting words on the screen.
Do you have a favorite author/s?
Apart from Georgette Heyer and Ian Fleming who I have already mentioned, I like JK Rowling, and all the usual romance authors. Jaid Black was the first erotic romance author I discovered, and she opened a whole new genre to me.
Do you think there is a difference between making love and having sex?
Absolutely. Having sex is scratching an itch and hopefully all the parties involved find it good. Making love involves the head, and all the emotions, as well as the various body parts. It is deeper, and longer lasting, and the orgasms are just one aspect of it.
What is your current project?
"Complexity", which is set in the same world as "Intensity" released 1 September from Siren BookStrand.
An asthmatic unwilling to relax enough to enjoy life, two men hell-bent on putting their stamp on her, an embezzler who wants to keep what he has stolen, and the ghost of a murdered girl. Will an endless night of passion with Finn and Simeon be pure pleasure, or only make Tia's life more complex and messy than it already is?
Tia agrees to a night of unbelievably hot sex with Finn and Simeon, and is beginning to think she may have a future with them. Especially when the ghost makes her realize that her asthma is not nearly as bad as it used to be.
But the two men are so protective they don't want her to help the ghost. And Tia never breaks her promises. Will frequent acrobatic sex be a solution or just add to the complexity?
Complexity buy link: http://www.bookstrand.com/complexity
Do you have any series out? If so what is it about?
It is not exactly a series, but "Intensity" and "Complexity" are set in the same world, the Smith Tower. And there is another book coming out in that world in December, called "Eternity". Each book is a standalone story with a heroine and two heroes, but some of the same secondary characters wander through the other books, and each of the triads appears in the later books, after their own story has been told.
I want to thank Berengaria for taking the time to answer these questions.

Guest Author Jade Archer
~Who Is Jade?~
Jade was born in 2010 after a prolonged pregnancy and labour of over thirty-four years!
Yes, she is a pseudonym. A work of my fevered imagination, which never seems to grow tired of inventing new characters. And this one's a whopper. One that seems to have taken over my life to the point I'm no longer sure where she ends and I begin! Still, it seems to be working for us.
I've decided she's about twenty-four. Enjoys long walks in the country, because she doesn't have five kids and a husband to care for. Eats as much chocolate as she wants, because she never has to worry about putting on weight (must be all those long walks!). And can often be found planning her next whirl wind world tour or endlessly typing away (without any interruptions) on another hot and steamy erotic romance. It might be space pirates; it might be shifters or a lonely vampire with a thing for the girl next door, one thing's for sure, she loves variety and can't wait to meet the next characters destined to fall in love.
~A few tasty tidbits about Jade Archer~
Do you write under a pseudonym? Yes. My real name is too hard to type into a search field!
What is your favorite season? Winter. I love to rug up and snuggle.
What is your favorite junk food? Pizza, unless a really good nachos wanders my way.
What is your favorite movie? Lord of the Rings
What kind of vehicle do you drive?I don't own a car anymore. Yay!
~Q&A with Jade~
What genre/s do you write?I've written in a lot of different genres, but seem to be most comfortable with paranormal and sci/fi. Though I'm hoping to release a contemporary ménage next year.
I'm sure we will see a ménage from your talented mind shortly . What made you decide to write the genre you do?
I love the scope these genres give me to explore my imagination and come up with…interesting situations to put my poor characters through.
I love paranormal and sci-fi as well. You can create a unique world that really helps shape a character. When not writing, what hobbies/interests do you have? Read is what I do when I want to rest and relax. If I'm looking for something different to occupy my mind and fingers I can usually be found tinkering with a design for a new piece of jewelry.
So many talents! I also love to read. It stimulates the brain as well; at least that's what I tell my husband. Was there a specific author/individual that inspired you to become a writer?
My mother was the first bard in my life, and I really do attribute my love of story-telling to her. I loved the way she would weave stories out of thin air to entertain us wherever we found ourselves. It really was an amazing place to start learning the craft and one of the things I remember most about being with my mother.
What a wonderful memory! What is your latest book about? When did/does it come out?`How To Steal Blade' is my latest work. It is the second book in the Contact series and was released through Total-E-Bound on the 27th of September. The Contact series is about a group of men that sign slave contracts in order to bring much needed skills and knowledge to their clan. Blade signed up to learn engineering. Unfortunately, the master that holds his contract has other uses for him, and ends up trying to bride a very rich and influential business man, Deminic, with Blades services! What happens when Blade and Deminic meet, and how they overcome the obstacle of Blade's slave status is what `How To Steal Blade' is all about.
Sounds so interesting! Unique concept as well. Was there anything that inspired you to write it? `How To Steal Blade' was really my first attempt at writing about BDSM. Blade is a character that doesn't know anything about Dominance and submission, but feels drawn to it. This book was me exploring what that would be like.
You have to start somewhere. Does your family know about your writing career? Yes. Most definitely. Getting a contact to publish stories that I had written was very exciting. There was no way I could have contained it, even if I'd wanted to!
Good for you! Family and friends supporting you always helps. What do they say about it?It's hard to hide the kind of time commitment and passion needed to write professionally, so I really didn't have much of a choice. Fortunately for me, my family is very supportive and proud of what I've managed to achieve. My children, for example, love the idea that I write. Often they'll ask me what I'm working on and chip in ideas and thoughts on the subject. I'm always amazed at their creativity and suggestions. In fact, I brainstormed the ideas behind the piece I'm writing now with them one night instead of story time. I had lost my voice due to a having a nasty cold. I'd told them previously that I wanted to write about angels and demons, so they decided to run with that idea and ended up telling me stories. Honestly, they were quite amazing! I need to be quiet and listen to my children more often.
As do a lot of us. Children have wonderful imaginations. How did you choose your pen name? Green is my favorite color, hence Jade. The Archer part took a little longer. Eventually I came up with the tag `A Shot for the Heart' and Jade Archer was born.
Creative! How old were you when you started writing? I think I penned my first manuscript at nine. I'm still waiting to hear back from the networks on that one, but the experience definitely got me hooked on writing. I vividly remember taking my story to school and the teacher reading it to the class. I'm actually more of an introvert, and it took me years to be able to speak up in a group, but having a whole class essentially listen to what I had to say felt pretty good.
I want to thank fellow Total-E-Bound author, Jade Archer for taking the time to participate in this interview.

~ Excerpt ~
Blade twisted in his restraints trying to work some feeling back into his wrists. It was no use. They were held too tight. His ankles were in much the same predicament. Sighing, he relaxed back down on the small black padded bench he was strapped to. Damn it, now he was in trouble.
The bloody thing didn't even support his head, he thought irritably. With his arms and legs restrained securely to the legs of the bench and the padded top only just big enough to support his belly, he was forced to drop his head forward and let it hang to relieve the ache in his upper back and neck. Even the way his legs were held and spread slightly apart meant he had to stand on the balls of his feet, which was more than a little uncomfortable after awhile. At least he could drop his hips slightly and let the bench take his weight to relive the pressure in his calves. He just wished it didn't leave him feeling quite so exposed.
Maybe it hadn't been such a good idea to try to scratch his owner's eyes out as he struggled to tie him down. It had only made the mean bastard cinch the restraints tighter. He knew it definitely hadn't been wise to threaten to bite the man's pin dick off if he stuck it anywhere near him. That's how he had ended up gagged.
When on Ion was he ever going to learn to keep his big mouth shut?
Then again, how was he supposed to have known the great blue behemoth hadn't planned on using him himself? He'd thought he was about to get shafted by his owner literally, as well as figuratively. And there was no way he was going to shut up and sit still for that. Or lay still, quietly kneeling over a padded bench, as the case may be. It had only seemed fair to warn the dickhead he'd rip his sexual organs off if he brought them anywhere near him.
Blade tried to sniff disdainfully around the thick, synth-leather gag in his mouth, but he didn't really manage to pull it off. He shouldn't have bothered, he considered bitterly. Next time he would bite first and issue warnings later.
He suddenly stiffened. What was he thinking? There wasn't going to be a next time. When he got out of these restraints, he was going to…he would… What? he asked himself angrily. You're going to threaten your owner, the First Order Mebian citizen who owned a million credit engineering business? Maybe intimidate him with the full force of the law?
Both his owner and the authorities would laugh at him. He was a slave. His people were dirt poor farmers from the most distant planet in the system. Even if he could get the authorities to listen to him, nothing would ever be done. He didn't have a credit to his name to bring a case to court, and there was certainly no precedence. No contract slave had ever brought a successful case against his or her owner. At least not to Blade's knowledge.
The only other option he could think of was to run away. But he couldn't do that either. If he ran, his family would have to pay for the training he had already received, and they had even less hope of finding the credits. It would mean one of his brothers or sisters would have to go into a slave contract, and he wouldn't ever consider that. No way. He would just have to figure some other way out of this mess.
Frantically, he began to scan the ornate room and plush furnishings for a way out of the restraints. If he could get free, he would find a way to return to his master. His owner would be angry, maybe even beat him, but he wasn't hanging around here. He didn't know the man his owner had arranged to give him to, and he didn't plan on being around here long enough to make his acquaintance. Knowing his luck at the moment, the stranger would turn out to be a great sweaty beast with halitosis, a bad case of falling out of the ugly tree a few too many times and a nasty temper to match.
Still struggling futilely against his restraints, Blade remembered what had started the whole rapid decline in his life from hard to hell. It had seemed like such a good idea to convince his owner to allow him access to extra training sessions. He had aced all his engineering tests and was eager to learn more. It would make him more valuable to the company, he had tried to explain to the bloated piece of blue pond scum who owned him. Of course, the fact that the more formal qualifications he amassed the more he was worth, and therefore the quicker he could pay off his debt, might have had something to do with his drive. Unfortunately, his owner had all too quickly figured that out.
Damn it! His owner wasn't normally that smart. Why couldn't the big blue moron have been as stupid as he looked for just a few more months?
Probably because he wouldn't have been able to breathe spontaneously if he was that stupid. And of course, it was pretty hard to miss that he was about to lose one of his most productive contract slaves because Blade had almost paid out his entire debt in half the allotted time by earning far more than projected.
So now he was strapped down, bare ass naked, except for the black leather straps that fastened him to the padded bench. He had a thick black gag pulled tight between his teeth that was seriously cutting into the corners of his mouth and slick lube shoved where no one else had ever dared to probe. All because his owner, the slimy piece of quargrel riddled, filthy excuse for a sentient being, sack of shit was determined to get, as he so eloquently put it, 'his money's worth out of Blade's ass'.
Giving vent to one last desperate fight against his restraints and an angry muffled scream, he flopped back down over the bench in exhaustion and resignation. His wrists were stinging relentlessly now, suggesting he had rubbed them raw. His jaw ached from the constant strain of the gag. And last, but certainly not least, his pride hurt from being forced into this position.
He really should have thought harder before agreeing to enter into this slave contract. Lorelei may have had a reasonably good idea and the very best intentions when he had suggested they get trained for skills to bring back to the clan. It could very well help them to break the cycle of poverty they found themselves in. But it really wasn't working out for him. He wasn't suited to life as a slave. He was too headstrong, too opinionated, too fond of his freedom, impoverished as it may have been. Oh! And the blood flowing to his hands. He was pretty keen on that too.
The trouble was, somewhere deep inside him was a tiny little voice telling him just how much he enjoyed being in this position. In a small, secret part of his heart, he would love to be able to surrender control like this, to have someone truly master him—someone he trusted completely. A shiver of desire and excitement ran down his spine. He could just imagine how freeing that would be, even as he recognised how contradictory that might sound.
He wondered what it would be like to have someone else take responsibility and shoulder the burdens for awhile. How would it feel to be able to ignore everything and everyone else in the universe and focus on pleasing just one person? What would it be like to be cared for and cherished like that? Just for a little while.
He shook the idle thoughts away irritably. No one had ever shown him that sort of care and consideration. They had taken and demanded his obedience, but never given him any choice in the matter. He had never met anyone he wanted to offer that much trust to anyway. That was the stuff of fantasy, and fantasies had no place in his harsh reality. So instead he had become a bratty, smart-mouthed rebel. One that now found himself strapped down to a bench, bare-assed naked and gagged.
Nice. Yay! Go team! he thought acerbically.
Suddenly he tensed, his sixth sense telling him he wasn't alone anymore as he cursed his lack of attention. He twisted his head around sharply, at least as much as was physically possible, to see who was behind him and froze. Standing in the doorway was the most drool-worthy man he could ever remember seeing in his life. He felt his eyes widen as he took in the bulging upper arm and chest muscles. He gazed in awe at the man's trim waist and beautiful dark bronze skin. But it was the long black braid and the solid black eyes, flashing like onyxiya in the light, that really had Blade mesmerised. The man was absolutely magnificent. A supreme, dominant, warrior god made flesh.
Blushing when he realised he was staring, he lowered his eyes. It was a mistake. As he tore his eyes away from the stranger's face, he found himself focused on the man's hands instead. They were big, strong, capable hands—broad and heavy. On one pinkie, the twinkle of a signet ring—a single diamond in a heavy gold setting—caught the light.
Blade couldn't help but wonder what those hands would feel like caressing his skin. Would they be rough and calloused or smooth and soft? Would they be gentle or just the right amount of firm?
Somewhere in the distance he heard a whimper and very much feared it might have come out of his own throat.
"What on Ion…?" the stranger finally said incredulously. Then his face became a mask of anger. "This is just going too far!" he bellowed as he stormed across the room.
Blade instantly snapped out of his lust-filled daze and began to struggle wildly. He didn't want the tempting stranger to come any closer. He didn't think his system could handle the sudden hormone overload. Besides, at the moment the stranger looked more likely to pull him apart, than pull him into his arms.

Many people have asked me, "Where do you get your ideas for your books?" OR "What would you do if you couldn't write anymore?"
I'll put it to you straight. I couldn't live without writing. I'm serious. If I'm not writing, I am not a nice person to be around.
So what would I do along with my writing? Simple. What I'm already doing—managing a big family.

What are your thoughts on Dominance and Submission?

**Warning: This post has material that some readers may find offensive.
So, I have a new book coming out August 26th with Siren-Bookstrand Publishing. It is called Blush: A Story of Dominance and Submission. This is my first story that I actually delve into the whole BDSM lifestyle. Now, I personally do not practice this lifestyle, but I can say researching it was interesting and opened my eyes to what is out there.
What is BDSM? Well according to Wikipedia...
