Upcoming novel in 2016: 'Garland Cove Heist'
Satalyte Publishing will release my contemporary crime novel, 'Garland Cove Heist', in November of this year.
The premise:
Shane Croft, part-time thief, moved with his wife from Melbourne to the coastal town of Garland Cove to make a fresh start. Instead, he became the reluctant informant of corrupt detectives Terry Patterson and Michaela Green. His one chance to get free is to gather evidence against them for a covert investigation by the Victorian Police Professional Standards Division. Patterson and Green would murder him if they knew what he was up to, but the promise of immunity from prosecution tempts Shane to take the risk.
Realising they are under scrutiny, Patterson and Green decide to stage a fake robbery. Patterson will arrest the robber in the middle of a bank job, believing that the positive media attention will derail the corruption investigation. Shane must set up the job. Despite his perfect planning, the bank job goes horribly wrong. Now Shane is persona non grata to the Professional Standards Division, and the corrupt coppers are hell-bent on killing him.

Free ebook '300 Degree Days and other stories'
Originally published by award-winning Ginninderra Press, '300 Degree Days and other stories' is now available as an ebook to download free from my website.
Back of the book blurb: Sometimes, the ties that bind are sharp enough to cut. In these eleven stories, set in contemporary Australian suburbia, Deborah Sheldon examines the darker side of family relationships. Unsettling and incisively written, each story of betrayal, envy, loss or bad blood resonates for a long time after reading.
'Sheldon's stories lift the skin of small, suburban lives to expose the raw nerves beneath. Her writing is intimate, compelling and alarming...' - The Short Review, UK
'I enjoyed 300 Degree Days for its authentic portrayal of how people behave and respond to challenges in their relationships. It’s not always pretty, but it’s real, and that made it a winner for me.' - Whispering Gums, Australia
