I will be a mentor again this year, along with Alan Baxter, Paul Mannering, Kaaron Warren, J. Ashley-Smith, Greg Chapman, Shane Walsh-Smith, Eugen Bacon, and Shayne Armstrong. Applications opened Friday 21 April.
For further details on how to apply for a mentorship, see: https://australasianhorror.com/mentor...

Poem reprinted in ILLUMEN MAGAZINE
Edited by Tyree Campbell, Illumen Magazine publishes original poems in the genres of sci-fi, fantasy and horror. Each issue also features artwork, articles, reviews, and interviews.
My poem, "Wheals and Whorls", first appeared in Illumen Magazine Winter 2023. Campbell decided to reprint my poem in the Spring 2023 issue, this time including my "behind the scenes" piece about the poetic form I used: a type of Welsh quatrain known as the cyhydedd hir.

Horror Spotlight review of my novella MAN-BEAST
Oops, I missed this one! In November 2022, two reviewers from the Horror Spotlight reviewed my Aussie-historical-Bigfoot novella Man-Beast (Severed Press, 2021).
In part, Alex writes, “I don't know a single cryptid fan who will not devour this novella and then run off and tell all their friends.” Meanwhile, Laurie writes, “There's adventure, action, and even a few tender moments. If you like stomp and chomps I think you're going to love this wild novella.”
You can read the full review here:
https://www.horrorspotlight.com/2022/...
The novella's blurb: Taylor’s Travelling Troupe of boxers has set up its tent at an isolated sheep station: bored farmers always bet to excess. Headlining the bare-knuckle fighters is Bluey, marketed as ‘The Man-Beast’, a Sasquatch-like monster, chained and kept drunk enough to fight punters without killing them. But the troupe has returned to where Bluey was first captured. Recognising the mountains, he calls again and again. And when his call is answered, all hell breaks loose.

Aurealis Magazine reviews my collection LIMINAL SPACES: HORROR STORIES
Aurealis is Australia's longest-running small press science fiction, fantasy and horror magazine. Issue #157 includes a terrific review of my collection Liminal Spaces: Horror Stories (IFWG Publishing Australia, 2022).
In part, reviewer Chris Foster writes, "Length and style vary between the stories, some winding, others half-pager snapshots. Each arrives with recognisable characters, motives, sometimes monsters, where not all of the horror is gore and beast. Sheldon focuses more on the psychological trappings of walking on a world you understand subtly, before she pulls the rug from right under your feet."
