Throw Pillow Round Up

I've been on the hunt for throw pillow inspiration lately. I'm planning on sewing my own for my sofa, but I wanted to do something a little bit more exciting than just a plain pillow cover.

Here are some of the pillows I've found so far that I like. Next step, off to the fabric stores.

Reply below—including the title of the book, the author, and a little bit about why the book made such a great present—and your answer could appear in the December issue of RS. Thanks, as always.

"Smart" And Stylish Scarves By LOOMLAB

She's got beauty and brains.

No...I'm not talking about you (although I'm sure you personify both of these qualities)...I'm referring to this amazing Jane Henry scarf that is just as visually stimulating as it is mentally. Don't believe me? Well, read on...

300-6

Jane Henry, a graduate of Massachusetts College of Art and Design, created the Loomlab Experiment 1 collection of scarves around the idea of visual languages such as Braille, QR coding, binary codes and circuitry. There is even a 3D...

Doing It All...At Once? Multitasking and Your Health

I was jogging the other day, feeling pretty awesome about myself for merely getting out of the house for the run, considering how beastly hot it was. Not just hot, but nearly 100% humidity. Super-sauna weather. And then I saw another jogger that made me feel not QUITE as self-satisfied. She was also jogging, but she was pushing a baby in a stroller, and holding onto the leash of her lab-mix dog, AND wearing a pair of those barefoot running shoes I blogged about a few weeks ago. Oh AND, she...

Mirror Mirror On The Wall

Who is the fairest of them all? When it comes to mirrors, you could easily have one in every room and it wouldn't be too much of a good thing. Mirrors are the great reflectors and masters of illusion. You can not only see objects from a different perspective but you can reflect light, enlarge rooms, add more color depending on what it is that they are reflecting -- so they are practical and functional but should also be decorative if you select the right ones for the space. Mirrors are great ...

3-Ingredient Small Bite: Tomato-Ricotta Open-Faced Sandwich

Our final 3-ingredient recipe comes from our very own Maggie Shi, deputy editor of RealSimple.com. Here she covers food, entertaining, money, and work & life. She'll also be joining the ranks of our Simply Stated food bloggers in the next few weeks. Here's her favorite 3-ingredient recipe from the farmers' market:

Now that it's August, summer fruits and vegetables are in full swing. I love stopping by the farmers' market (I'm lucky enough to have one right across the street from my apartment) ...
