indiDenim Customizable Jeans and GIVEAWAY

You know the drill when it comes to finding jeans: They are too short...too long...too big in the waist...too tight at the waist...won't fit over your shapely thighs...won't hug your slender thighs...not quite the right color...etc...etc!

Ahhhh, what does a gal need to do in order to find a perfectly fitting pair of jeans?

Well apparently, all we need to do is visit indiDenim.com! Thanks to a very passionate fan, I was recently introduced to this company. Known as the leading online denim...

C-Section Moms: Did You Attempt a VBAC? Would You?

As someone who recently had an (unexpected) C-section, I followed with increased interest the panel at the National Institutes of Health this week that looked again at the the risks of attempting a vaginal birth after C-section (VBAC).

It's not a new debate—for years there has been a steady increase in both the C-section rate as well as a decrease in the numbers of women who then attempt to have a VBAC on a subsequent delivery. The fear, of course, is of uterine rupture caused by a scar-weake...

Among households who make $12,500 or less, the unemployment rate is a whopping 31 percent. For those who earn $150,000 or more, unemployment was just 3 percent. The difference is due in large part to education. You can read that story on my Yahoo!Finance column. This post is about someone I...

A New Chapter in Our Story

Today our house in suburban Boston—the one my husband and I bought a year after we married—goes on the market. The "For Sale" sign in my front yard is more than an indicator to our neighbors and potential buyers; it's a physical symbol of the big changes that lie ahead for my family and me. We're writing a new chapter in our collective story and it officially starts today.

For ten years this house has been my home. It's here that I became a mother, started two businesses and shared my last...
