EXCERPT (Unedited):Leaving my room, I stepped out into the hallway, looking both ways before stopping to stare at the open door to the attic. Goose bumps flared across my skin as I distinctly remembered closing the door after Seth and I had explored it. I was pretty sure no one had been up there since.

As if manipulated, my feet turned and moved toward the dark staircase, my heart pounding in my chest with every step. I briefly thought I should call my parents and have them come check with me, but when I tried to stop or open my mouth it was as if I had no control over myself.

Treading lightly, I made my way soundlessly up the wooden stairs, pausing at the top and looking around.

Moonlight filtered dimly into the space from the lace-covered windows, showing the area to look exactly as it had before, except the lid on the trunk I’d gone through was still open. I couldn’t remember if I closed it or not, but went to take care of it anyway.
Kneeling beside it, I brushed my hand lovingly over the fine, beautiful fabric of the dresses near the top. Again, I wondered whom they might have belonged to.

Skin prickling, I immediately had the feeling I was not alone. To my left was a soft stirring of light above my head and I gasped, shrinking away from it.

“They’re beautiful, aren’t they?” A musical female voice, with what I thought might be an Irish lilt, filled the air. “When I saw them I wished I could try them on.”

I was shaking. “Who’s there?” I called out in a harsh whisper, my mouth feeling dry.
Slowly, the light beside me began to grow brighter as it lengthened, until the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen—or rather her ghost—was standing before me.

Looking over her, I noted that she dissolved away into nothingness near her feet, and she was clearly see-through. But none of that did anything to diminish her looks.

“Who are you?” Even as I took in her white blonde hair, porcelain features and pale full lips, I was shaking. I’d never seen a ghost before, and to be honest, I hadn’t even really known if they actually existed. If there was one thing being a witch had taught me, though, it was to always have an open mind when it came to all things magical or otherworldly. I waited with bated breath...

He wants me to date him instead. Now he thinks you’re competition as well.” I groaned. This was so embarrassing.“I got this, sweetheart. A two faced, two timing liar.”“Don’t you talk to her that way,” Dad said, swinging his leg off the still running bike and I groaned. I knew my dad. If he felt I was being threatened in anyway, he’d go ballistic. “I’ll talk to the little cheat any way I want.”“Stop it! Both of you!” I yelled, stepping between them. I stared at Jett. “He’s not my boyfriend, you ass. He’s my dad, and he was just testing you. Excerpt: Blood of the White Witch

**EXCERPT: BLOOD OF THE WHITE WITCH** (Shared from Facebook)
For those of you who don't know, I started out my writing career as a paranormal author with my series, Of Witches and Warlocks. For whatever reason, those books have remained a huge fan favorite, pulling in hundreds of thousands in downloads and sales in the 5 years since I began publishing them. It is definitely, by far and away, my most downloaded series to date.

More recently, I stared redoing the edits in those books. Since my writing style has grown and changed--and a sequel series, Of Witches and Demons, is on it's way--I've wanted to go back and get rid of some of the "newbie" mistakes in them. Many of these edits may be things the reader doesn't even notice. For example: He nodded his head. Of course he nodded his head. What else would he be nodding? hahaha "He nodded," is more appropriate. So I'm doing a LOT of sentence restructuring, more "showing" vs. "telling," etc. DON'T WORRY. I'm not changing any of the core storyline, just tightening it so it reads better--and maybe embellishing a few scenes here and there with some new/extended material.

Book one, The Trouble with Spells, and book two, The Demon Kiss, are finished with their new edits and back on sale in print and ebook. I'm 3/4 of the way through  book 3, Blood of the White Witch. I'm hoping to have it available with the new edits by sometime next week. Then I will immediately start working on The Dark Rising, and Possession of Souls. My goal was to have all the books redone and back out by the end of June. However, with the final edits of Allure needing to be squeezed in there, I'll be pushing it. I promise I'm going as fast as I can! :D

Until then, here's an excerpt that goes along with a corresponding picture we took on the custom photo shoot. I'll be sharing different photos with matching scenes as I travel through these edits.

If you're new to Of Witches and Warlocks, it is a YA series, so steam factor wise, I try to keep a handle on things...hot make outs/fade to black/vaguely worded descriptions, etc., to keep it genre appropriate.

 “You look gorgeous sitting here in the firelight,” he whispered, his tongue darted out, licking at my skin right before he lightly nipped me there, too. As usual, I tipped my head back to give him better access to the spot. “So beautiful.” He ran his fingers through the wet strands of my hair.
I closed my eyes, enjoying his touch and the magical moment he was weaving around us. Gently, he guided my face toward his and kissed me on the lips, parting them with his tongue. Pressing into me, he wrapped an arm around me and slowly lowered me down to the rug.
Long moments passed, our mouths tangled together in soft, extremely slow kisses. Despite his easy pace, the fire inside me was quickly igniting. Staring into his eyes, I loved seeing the emotions that passed through them while he kissed me. They spoke to me as clearly as the rest of his body—desire, trust, need, and love. The rest of the room melted away until all I could see was him.
Threading one of my hands into his hair, I placed the other on his sculpted cheek, allowing my fingers to trail lightly over the surface.
“I love you so much, Vance,” I said in hushed tones, completely wrapped up in his spell, always his willing captive.
He smiled slightly. “I’m glad. Loving you makes me happier than I could’ve ever imagined.” His eyes traveled over my face. “I still can’t believe you’re my wife now. You can’t possibly know how happy you’ve made me.”
“Then why don’t you show me,” I suggested, moving my fingers up to run over his brow.
Instantly, his mind was wide open, his emotions pulling me in as he linked with mine. All of his thoughts and feelings poured into my head, causing a rush of vibrations to move throughout my body—so intense I gasped out loud.
He chuckled softly at my reaction. “You asked for it,” he said, a seductive grin lighting up the masculine dimples on his face.
“Yes, I did.” My breath quickened as sensations I never felt before danced through me. “Whatever you’re doing, please don’t stop!”
“We’re doing this, Portia, both of us,” he explained. He sucked at my neck, and my breath caught in my throat again, everything he’d placed in my head intensifying with the addition of that physical touch. “This is my desire reacting to yours, each of us echoing back and forth off one another.”

New Things In The Works!

Readers and Fans have literally hounded me about this series...they want more! I'm happy to announce that there will be several new changes coming, the first of which includes, updated covers that are exclusive to the series, and updated interiors that will include grammatical edits brought up to Chicago Manual of Style guidelines and new content edits that will add never before scenes and material to the the books!

I have more things to announce still, regarding this series, and I hope everyone will enjoy both the changes and improvements being made to it. Of Witches and Warlocks continues to be a fan favorite amongst my readers and I want to say thank you so much for all the support you've given over the years! It's truly been a gift in my life!

A little Vance and Portia Scene

I wrote this post for my Facebook readers on Halloween and thought it might be a fun extra that readers over here would enjoy too. Hope everyone is enjoying their fall season this year!

“I think I’m needing some witch today.” Vance’s gaze traveled over me and his eyes flared red, but I knew drinking blood wasn’t what he had in mind. “Yes, I think you’ll do nicely. Come here, Portia.”

I snorted and continued spreading chocolate frosting on the cake. “Make up your mind. Do you want cake, or me? Besides, I’m the only option you have when it comes to witches.”

“The only option I want,” he replied, correcting as he stood and walked my direction. “You’re the treat I want for Halloween today.” He stepped behind me, sliding his hands seductively down over my arms, then to my waist, grabbing and pulling me against him. “Tell me you don’t want it too.”

I giggled and paused, holding the spatula in the air. “Why did you ask for a cake with chocolate frosting?”

“So I could do this.” He reached past me and ran his finger across the top of the dessert, scooping up a small amount. “Turn around,” he ordered.

I did as he asked, swallowing hard when I saw the desire flaming in his eyes.

“Are you going to feed it to me?” I asked, feeling breathless, thinking about how much I’d enjoy having his finger in my mouth. 

He shook his head. “Nope. I’m going to have my cake and eat it too.” He smeared the chocolate down my arm.

I stared in shock. “Why’d you do that?”

“So I could do this.” He crouched down, his mouth descending near the end of the smear by my hand. He followed it up my limb with his tongue, slowly sucking and licking away every trace of frosting there was.

Goosebumps flared over my body and I bit my lip as I watched the erotic sight, trying not to let any sound escape me. The spatula fell from my other hand and clattered to the floor.

He reached behind me scooping up more. “I think you need some here too.” He swiped it down my neck, and I couldn’t help the moan that escaped me when he licked me there. “I like that sound,” he whispered against my skin. “Portia, you have no idea what you do to me.”

“Oh, I think I . . . ,” I stopped to pant, “ I . . . I . . . have a vague idea.” More panting as he sucked my skin harder into his mouth. I felt the edges of his teeth scraping against me. “After all . . . ,” I tipped my head back father, “ . . . you do try to remind me daily.”

He chuckled as he spread more chocolate across my cheek to my mouth. “It’s my favorite part of the day too.” He winked before he started licking slowly across my face. I though I might be the one to burst into flames if he didn’t hurry. He paused when he reached my lips and grinned, his red eyes sparkling mischievously. “This is turning out to be some of the best cake I’ve ever had.”

I grabbed both sides of his head and kissed him hard with my frosting covered lips. He moaned this time, sliding his hands down my body and lifting me up onto the countertop, setting me right on the dessert.

“What are you doing?” I squealed with laughter.

He was grinning from ear to ear. “Isn’t it obvious?” He stepped closer and I wrapped my legs around him.

“You’re making a mess!”

“A delicious mess, and I’m . . . ,” he kissed me, “going to . . . ,” he kissed me again, “enjoy every . . . ,” he kissed me harder, “single bite!”
