The Dirge Magazine website is live!

The website for Dirge, a new horror magazine, is now live. There's an interview with me about writing in shared worlds. I should have more content there in the days to come, and I'll have a new short story in the first paper-and-ink issue of the magazine in month or so.

Anyway, check it out:

Basil & Moebius are coming!

if you patronize your local comics shop, perhaps you pick up PREVIEWS to get the word on forthcoming releases. In the new (December 2014) issue, there's an insert plugging THE ADVENTURES OF BASIL & MOEBIUS, VOLUME ONE from Magnetic Press.
This is the start of a cool series that's sort of like the Gray Mouser and Fafhrd meet Indiana Jones. It's also a series to which Timothy Zahn and I have contributed work, although I believe you'll have to wait until later volumes to see our stuff. The first one appears to be all material written by Ryan Schifrin, who created the characters, and Larry Hama, which means the stories will be damn good.
Anyway, I hope you'll check out this product and the series as it unfolds.

All is not lost!

Mitch McConnell promised an end to gridlock if Republicans took the Senate. And you know a politician wouldn't fib! But under current Senate rules, Democrats have the same ability to block legislation that Republicans had when they were in the minority. So to get anything done, Republicans will have to reach out in a search for common ground, and to their credit, they are already doing so.
Senator McConnell is reportedly willing to soften the GOP's stance against abortion provided the procedure is performed with a handgun obtained without background checks, an initiative endorsed by the NRA. Democratic legislators are currently waiting to hear whatever President Barack Obama has to say in response so they can distance themselves from his position.
