I'll be writing a new Scarred Lands short story

Hey, I see the Scarred Lands Kickstarter hit the Stretch Goal that is a new short story by me!
Guess I better reread my old SL trilogy and find out what the heck I wrote all those years ago.
Seriously, I'm very much looking forward to returning to this character and this universe, so thanks to all the backers.
And if you haven't backed yet, the Kickstarter is still running. Follow the link to take a look.

The SCARRED LANDS Kickstarter is now live

Stewart Wieck and the gang have a Kickstarter going to revive the Scarred Lands, a very cool sword-and-sorcery setting for RPG's and fiction.
If the campaign hits a particular Stretch Goal, backers will receive the Scarred Lands trilogy I wrote way back when plus a new short story continuing the adventures of my hero Vladawen.
Check it out here:

Where's your new Forgotten Realms fiction, Richard?

Every day or two, someone writes to ask me when I'm going to get off my lazy ass and continue either THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE GRIFFON or THE REAVER. (Though they always ask in nicer words than that.) So perhaps another explanatory post is in order. If you've already know the explanation (or don't give a rat's ass about my stuff), you may want to skip the rest of this.
I would like to continue both storylines, but Wizards of the Coast, the publisher, has not offered me a contract to do so. The Forgotten Realms is their intellectual property, and I'm just a freelancer they have occasionally allowed in, so if they don't decide to move forward, it can't happen.
I do have more heroic fantasy novels on the way, though, a trilogy set in Privateer Press's Iron Kingdoms universe. I think everyone who digs my Realms stuff will like it, too. It's even about mercenaries like BotG. BLACK DOGS, the first one, is coming out in March.
Meanwhile, if someone needs a fix of my sword-and-sorcery (like Judy Tenuta says, "It could happen!"), allow me to suggest the following, all available on Amazon.com
MURDER IN CORVIS is the prequel novella to my Iron Kingdoms trilogy. It's the origin story of my band of mercenaries.
PATHFINDER TALES: CALLED TO DARKNESS is my novel set in Paizo's Pathfinder universe. (You probably guessed that.)
I have a short story in each of these anthologies: BLACKGUARDS: TALES OF ASSASSINS, MERCENARIES, AND ROGUES from Ragnarok Publications and THE BARD'S TALE: STORIES AND RECIPES FROM THE BLACK DRAGON INN from Blackspoon Press. Both stories are about my mercenary turned fencing master/troubleshooter Selden.
Finally, i've put together a collection of heroic fantasy that includes all the earlier Selden stories plus the tales about my wandering knight Martin Rivers. It's called THE PLAGUE KNIGHT AND OTHER STORIES and that's the one I'm actually going to link to below.
Then there are my horror stories...but I should probably save that list until another shameless act of self-promotion.
