I'm an author (/actor/technical writer/journalist/etc.) based in San Francisco, CA.

I grew up in Chappaqua, NY and attended Harvard College, where I studied English with a secondary concentration in computer science. Shortly afterward, I left the east coast to pursue an M.F.A. in Creative Writing at the University of Wyoming.

My love for outdoor sports (namely, skiing and climbing) brought me out west, and my interest in nature and place and the ways they intersect with identity are major themes across much of my work. I also write about multicultural (specifically Turkish-American) identity and the trials of coming of age as a girl in today's world.
