Heart of Glass GIVEAWAY

On November 13th 2020 (which, incidentally, coincides with my birthday, should anyone wish to send presents or congratulations – insert winking emoji here), I have a new book coming out called, Heart of Glass. Here’s the blurb:

Twenty-nine-year-old Jack Glass is cursed. He knows that he will die before he reaches the age of thirty due to a rare genetic heart condition. His birthday is less than two weeks away.

If his life couldn’t get any stranger, his girlfriend has involved him in a mortality experiment that involves killing every manic depressive and lonely soul in his town.

As each day passes, and Jack draws closer to his own end, he begins to question his girlfriend’s motives, and how their lives have become so fortuitously interlinked. But has the weight of all their victims become too much? Is the line between life and death interchangeable? Can one suffer a life worse than death?

Seeking these answers, Jack is forced to accept that however fragile his heart is, the fate of glass is to break.

The ebook is now available for preorder. Unfortunately, Amazon don’t allow preorders on paperbacks yet. Believe me, as a purist, it infuriates me that a multi-billion dollar company cannot arrange for this to happen. I have made a complaint, but hey, I’m a grain of sand tumbling in the wind. I’ll release further updates on my social media platforms, as well as my blog, when the paperback goes live, so please, if you’re not already doing so, follow me on Twitter, Instagram or my author Facebook page.

Finally, I’m giving away ten Kindle copies of the book, and one paperback proof. All you need to do is subscribe to my newsletter to qualify. I’ll pick the winners at random and make an announce early November via the newsletter.

Stay safe and best wishes

Book Trailer - Labyrinth of the Dolls

LABYRINTH OF THE DOLLS TRAILER

EVIL HAS A NEW FACE

It's been one year since the horrific murders of Stormer Hill, and the events of that time continue to resonate with Detective Constable Tom Nolan. In an attempt to find the second killer, known only as the Ragman, Nolan joins West Yorkshire's Murder Investigation Team.

Partnered with Jennifer Morrison, a straight-talking detective with her eye on promotion, the two officers are assigned to track down a new killer whose victims are all found dressed like human dolls. As the investigation progresses, Nolan becomes an intricate piece in the killer's grand vision that puts his life in danger.

But with the body count rising daily and the pressure to find who the media is labelling the Doll Maker increasing, Nolan discovers more than just a series of grisly murders...

Within the human dolls, the answers he has sought for nearly a year may finally be found.

Free Book!

If you now subscribe to my newsletter, you’ll instantly receive a free ebook of my short story collection, Quintessence of Dust. It’s a painless process, and as mentioned in my previous post, I won’t be spamming every hour of the day. So to get the free Kindle book, simply click on this link:

I want my free book

Then, just enter your email and submit. You’ll be directed to a page where the download will commence. It’s that easy!

Ah, yes, but I hear you asking; “Is Quintessence of Dust really worth me sharing my email?”

Here’s the blurb and you make up your own mind:

Quintessence of Dust delivers a world where the Minotaur exists in modern society, drinks in bars and is scared of the dark. Where to lose memories and extract all the pain you’ve brought on others is easily achieved by pulling twine from your rectum. It is a world where the Devil is an old man digging a hole to Hell in his garden, and romance is nurtured by spearing an umbrella through the chest of a winged demon. Here, there are talking camels, and should you ever want to crawl back into the womb and begin a fresh, birth can be reversed. Wishes can be granted, ugly can be erased, and those without ardor or enthusiasm can be nymphomaniacs by pinning a photograph upon a wall. In this world the girth of a neck can bring on suicide, sleep can summon death and people can live within the inner ear canal of others. The streets are always crimson. People are broken. Lust is a commodity measured out in chocolate, and love is lost more than it is conquered.

In this world, the dust bites and never settles.

Even if Quintessence of Dust doesn’t float your boat, by subscribing you’ll receive information about my books, promotions and news before anyone else.

Thanks for your support. Stay safe. Craig

Book Trailer for Bad People

https://youtu.be/WPR4iLxq3i4

Bad People, a new novel by Craig Wallwork, is the first book in the Tom Nolan series published by Underbelly Books.

Available via Amazon in paperback and kindle.

THREE MISSING CHILDREN. Over the past three years, the quiet Yorkshire village of Stormer Hill has lost three of its children. No bodies were ever discovered. No evidence found. No witnesses.

THE WRITER. Struggling to find inspiration for his new novel, celebrated crime author, and ex-police officer, Alex Palmer, believes the story of the missing children could end his writer's block, but is he prepared for the story that's about to develop?

THE DETECTIVE. Tom Nolan, a seasoned detective and loner involved in finding each missing child. Nolan is tasked with chaperoning Palmer and walking through each case. But as both men revisit the past, and dig deeper, neither are prepared for the chilling discovery to why the children were taken.

THE BRETHREN. A secret cult. Two men, and a series of brutal and unimaginable murders spanning over seven years with one intention; to show the world that death can be justified if it's for a greater good.

“Bad People is full of clever plot developments and a compelling, suspenseful manhunt. I’m excited that this is only book one.” Scream Magazine.

“To be read with the lights on in every room in the house.” Nigel Bird.

“With a wince-inducing prologue and an ending to make you gawp, Bad People is in turns a dark thriller and police procedural, with evil running through its core.” Sublime Horror.

“There are many twists and turns to Bad People that will keep readers hooked and turning pages as quickly as possible.” On Magazine.

“If you like Girl With the Dragon Tattoo or Se7en, then check out BAD PEOPLE by Craig Wallwork.” Sadie Hartmann

“Bad People is a fast-paced thriller which will keep you guessing combined with visceral terror that readers will find shocking.” Horror Bound

“This is one of those books that actually left me kind of speechless and made me wonder what is going to happen next.” Entertainingly Nerdy

Bad People now available to buy!

I'm so happy to announce that my new book, a detective thriller called, BAD PEOPLE, is now available to buy via Amazon. The Kindle version costs less than a cup of coffee, and the paperback averages out to the price of two cups of coffee! So save yourself the caffeine and read about a small rural village in England where three children have gone missing, and what is assumed to be a series of abductions proves to be something more gruesome and horrific!

Serious Moonlight: Two Stories out now

Serious Moonlight: Two Stories is now out to buy on Kindle. Yeah, I know, for the purists out there you will have already stopped reading this... however, you might want to keep going for a little longer.

The brief was very simple; out of the stories you have written, what would David Bowie like to read? That's what Amanda sent to me, and what you will find in this micro short story collection is my best attempt to impress David Bowie. This collection felt more like two friends sitting in a cafe and talking about what kind of worlds and people inhabit their minds. Amanda's world is very different from mine, but we both share a romanticism for the strange, weird and darker side of life, and the flawed characters that move through it. So we held each others hand and she guided me to her Aquarium, where I was able to observe the life of two lovers and their brutal relationship. And she, in turn, was transported back in time to Stilled Longing, where she saw the saddening demise of a young woman confined to a bed with the most horrific of disorders. We were patient during our time inside each others mind. We were respectful of the agony and desolation of our worlds. But more than anything were left remembering these characters long after we returned back to our real worlds. We hope that you do the same.

If nothing else, by purchasing the collection (which should be about 99c) you'll be contributing to a great cause, as all profits go to the International Medical Corp who are the first responders to major tragedies all over the world. Thank you.

Merry Christmas

There is a beautiful continuity in life that rarely is reflected upon, because it happens without consideration or effort: The beat of the heart, and ebb and flow of lung, the delicate and infectious laughter of my children that punctuate the turmoil of my restless mind, their touch that pulls me back into the moment, their eyes that stop time. The unending patience my wife offers me, which is only equalled by her love. Her blind devotion and arms that envelop me when I'm low, and her happiness shared when I'm high. The undeserved praise and loyalty of friendship, and their trust and belief in me, all of which far outweighs any I can hold within. This continuity is the mute angel that holds my hand, and let's me know everything will be okay. For another year.
Merry Christmas, my friends.
