Text Speak
So I'm reading the news this morning when I see a link to an article that makes me go, "OMG"!
This story is about how our every day speech is starting to sound more and more like how we text.
Well, wouldn't you know it--in my new Bloodlands books (coming out August-Oct. 2011), that's how some of my characters talk in the post-apocalyptic future. They call the dialect "Text." No joke.
I turned in that first book about a year and a half ago. The second almost a year ago. The third several months ago. How many people will notice this "Text trend" by the time the novels are released?
How many people will already be talking in Text?

Best Superbowl Ad...Are You Surprised?
You all know I have a STAR WARS thing, so are you shocked that the Mini Darth Vader was my favorite commercial? Here's the longer one-minute version of it. LOL loud at the poor dog trying to get away from the Force...

Cathy at the Suburban Vampire site interviewed me, and there's a giveaway, too. The interview features the first bigger inkling of what my Bloodlands series will be about....

Bloodlands Cover!
This is a mock-up cover, and in the conversion from pdf to jpg, the BLOODLANDS title on the bottom has been darkened--it won't be like that in the final version.
But here it is.
And I love it!

Announcement about Bloodlands
Things are starting to rev up for Bloodlands!
I saw a mock-up of the cover they want to use, and I love it. It focuses on the hero, and the model is perfect. I'll be sharing it just as soon as I have permission....
Here's the most important piece of news though: since this trilogy is in a different sub-genre and since the books will be coming out mass market (as opposed to trade edition), Ace would like me to use a different pen name. Hence, these books will come out under the name Christine Cody.
Yes, it's still me--Chris Marie Green. But writing as Christine Cody. She's just another facet of my personality, one of my three public faces. :)
Stay tuned for that cover!
