Vampire Writing Contest

There's a fun writing contest going on over at http://www.awordwithyoupress.com/
2011/08/06/literati-of-the-night-our-new-contest/
!

You have until August 28 to write 217 words about a "different" kind of vampire.
A Word With You Press was kind enough to create this contest to promote Bloodlands, so 3 finalists will get signed copies of Bloodlands. If you leave comments on the blog, I believe you'll be entered to win a $20 Barnes and Noble gift card. Not bad!

Bloodlands Series Hints: Blood Rules #1

Every week throughout this month and the next, I'll be dropping hints about what you can expect in Blood Rules (Bloodlands, book 2) and In Blood We Trust (Bloodlands, book 3). These will be merely mild spoilers, so if you haven't read Bloodlands yet, I won't be ruining any twists or turns….

Hint #1 for Blood Rules: the Bloodlands world is really going to open up…. You're going to be seeing the infamous "urban hubs" in action!

Another Review for Bloodlands

Hi, all!

I just want to thank all those who've already bought their copies of Bloodlands! Without you, I wouldn't be able to keep writing and selling. :)

Here's another very nice review for the first book!

http://www.booklistonline.com/Bloodlands-Christine-Cody/pid=4949462
The first book in a new series by the author of the Vampire Babylon novels takes place in the New Badlands, a desolate, water-starved area in the west that emerged after the U.S. collapsed. It is now home not only to outlaws and a few paranoid survivors but also to monsters on both four and two legs. Then the vampire arrived. Gabriel, while searching for his lover's murderer, turns up wounded at the door of Mariah, one of the survivors. She reluctantly helps him out. Then a self-styled monster-slayer comes after Gabriel. Cody has drawn a fascinating and believable world, and her characterization is top-notch. The plot, based on classic westerns, is something different in vampire novels. There is action—a great deal of it—but not in your face, and the beginning of an intensely realized romance. Bloodlands should appeal to just about all paranormal adventure fans.
