Megan and her awsomeized blog, WriteMeg

I have written before about book bloggers and how much I love and appreciate them. The time and thought put into reading and reviewing books (for free!) cannot be over-appreciated by authors like me. And at the top of my list of incredible reviewers is Megan, the CEO and all around awesomized founder of WriteMeg.  I couldn’t be more honored to be on her 2012 reading list. Couldn’t. Be. More Honored.

Crystal balls and why we need them to work

This is why crystal balls should work, because if I had known that Caroline Leavitt was going to someday interview me I would have been a much nicer person for the last, um, eight years or so. And if I had known that Jenny Richardson would have posted it on her blog, I might have been, like, super nice.

So figure out that crystal ball, people!

First impressions & First lines.

First impressions can make or break you. We all know that. But how about first lines? The first line of a novel can set the tone of the entire book. Here are my five favorite first lines in a novel. What are yours?

BBAW – Book Bloggers Are (Awesome) Week

It’s BBAW.

I wasn’t sure what that meant at first. Then I got it. It means something like this:

“Dear New York Times Book Review/Oprah’s Book Club/Every Single Other Traditional Reviewer in the History of the World, Is there any way you would be willing to take a look at my new book, for like, a review?”

“No.”

“Dear Book Blogger/Person With A Whole Lot Of Other Things To Do Besides Read My Book/ (And) Person Who Makes Zero Money Doing So, Would there be any way you would be willing to take a look at my new book, for like, a review?”

“Sure!”

That’s BBAW.  Book Bloggers Are (Awesome) Week.

So, to all of you BB’s out there who take the time to read, review, post, tweet, Facebook, and every other social-media it about our books, thank you. You make our lives so much easier. And sometimes, you even put us on the map.

Love,

Authors Everyone

Why I feel like a jammy b***** today.

I love all things British. Pudding. Rain. Words like “snogging.” So I am bloody chuffed to bits be interviewed by the dishy Katja and her cracking blog, YA’s The Word. Right then, stop fannying around now and have a looksie, will you?

Readerviews

I am so happy to be featured in the Readerviews Newsletter the week. Readerviews is a unique site that offers reviews from readers, to readers. Kind of the way it should be?
