AULD LANG SYNE ~ The Sparks Sessions
It was not New Years Eve. We just wanted a sufficiently drunkardly song.
JeffPeff and I recorded this when we finished scoring Sparks. There had been a wine bottle in the kick drum the whole several weeks, and we did track after track until we drank the whole thing. I think it was around twenty-five takes, so both our voices on each made about fifty voices.
Bonne Année de la France!
Wishing everyone a happy and safe New Year!

Why Am I So Dizzy?
Little song I wrote and RECorded this morning-after-xmas. It's a genuine question, I still don't know…
(download it, add to it, remix it, etc, on hitRECord)
P.S. Dear tumblr staff folks, could you not tag my posts "#CELEBS" please? That shit's gross. Thanks :)

THE REGULARITY #55 (12/20/11)
This week's Regularity is about...

This week's Regularity is about Reprising and RE-RECommending…
Calling all Vocal Artists, all Audio Mixers, all Video Editors!
You might know our record "and a new earth", it is definitely one of the most impactful short films to have come out of HITRECORD — we play it at all of our shows. I was thinking that Sundance 2012 is a great opportunity for us to make another version of it!
I absolutely love the original, it's a beautiful piece both in style and in substance. wirrow wrote the text and set it to a timelapse from the site while adding an instrumental track that he had made. The simplicity of it is what makes it so impactful.
But I've always wondered what it would be like if we took it to the next step because I feel this piece is really conducive to our mass collaborative creative process.
So here's what to do:
Vocal Artists, Actors, Poets - record yourself reading the text of the original video. You can read it however you like, but it may be that the more similar to the original the better.
Audio Mixers - Mix together a large creative combination using these different recordings of everyone reading the text.
Video Editors - Let's start providing and editing visuals into a big montage that corresponds to the text. Remember, sometimes it's not the most literal connection that is best, but maybe something less obvious that still provokes the same sentiment as the text.
I wanna screen this at Sundance 2012, so let's get to work!
Thanks again

I would post this even if I weren't in it.
And to quote the YouTuber who uploaded it…
"Christopher Nolan also created a great movie called The Prestige…
The Pledge (Batman Begins): Shows you something ordinary, asks you to inspect it to see if it is normal. But of course it isn't.
The Turn (The Dark Knight): Takes the ordinary something and makes it extraordinary. But making something extraordinary isn't enough.
The Prestige: Takes the extraordinary and flips it on its head. That's why there has to be a third act, the hardest part. The Dark Knight Rises."
