Girl Time

I'm just back from some fabulous girl time, which means I'm rejuvenated and pumped up, but not at all rested. Serious girl time is hard work, ya know!
I've returned from an annual writers retreat that I treasure and look forward to all year long, only to have our days together pass far too quickly. Unfortunately, I don't have a group picture yet so will just share some individual shots.
Here's

Amber Waves of Grain

A friend from Colorado sent me these pictures recently. Gorgeous, aren't they...

If earth is this beautiful, fallen and cursed as it is, just imagine how beautiful Heaven must be. Blessings on your day, friends.

Selective Attention and Time

Check out this cool video (on selective attention) on CLASH ENTERTAINMENT and see how you do. I'll tell you how I did in the comments later today, after some of you have had a chance to view it first.

I was thrilled when attending a writers retreat recently to learn that multi-tasking actually kills brain cells. I used to be able to juggle so many more tasks and "goings on" than I can now. I'm

Indulging the lingering teen in me

Can you tell what movie my daughter and I went to see last week? :)

We didn't realize until looking at the picture that we were both wearing our matching shoes! Sheesh, so much for Mother/Daughter shopping.

I don't know if you're a Twlighter or not, but Kelsey and I both enjoyed the books immensely. And though the first movie wasn't a fav, we loved the last two, and plan on going to see

International Christian Retail Show

I'm headed to the St. Louis airport this morning to catch my flight back to Nashville. I've had a marvelous last few days at a writers retreat and then at the International Christian Retail Show, but I'm ready to be home. Since I'm out the door and a little rushed, I'm simply going to share some glimpses of the past few days...
I was thrilled when Dave Long (editor with Bethany House) introduced

Writers Retreat and ICRS

I'm here in St. Louis over the next few days, for a writers retreat and for ICRS (International Christian Retailing Show) and thought I'd share some pics. I'll be posting on occasion, sharing some pics of the retreat and the conference. We always have such a fun time together. A foretaste of Heaven...

God's Waiting Room

This was our patriotic Father's Day dessert. And it was delicious!

Have you ever been in God's waiting room, and didn't particularly like being there? If, like me, your answer is yes, then you'll identify with this past Sunday's message at our church. We've been studying The Flood (from the book of Genesis), and I was given "fresh perspective" this week of what it's like to be in God's waiting

Bakin' Cookies

I made some fabulous Craisin-Oatmeal Cookies this weekend (thanks, Serina, for sharing your recipe!) and thought I'd share it with you. I added walnuts to mine and oh...oh...oh... Delicious! If you make them, let me know how yours turn out!

Galleys, Holidays, and Lloyd, the Largemouth Bass

June is here! Hard to believe! Galleys for Within My Heart arrived Friday and I don't think I've even been so grateful to be at this stage of a book! Given the fresh perspective of time's passing, I'm really enjoying the chance to read back through Rand and Rachel's entire journey. I think it's a fitting ending for this series, and I hope you enjoy it.
I snapped a quick picture of what the

All perked up

First...what a difference a week (and some great advice) makes! This is my Mom's African Violet that I shared with you last week. Pretty sad...
And here it is this week!Thank you, friends, for your advice on last Tuesday's post. Veronica (who posted a comment on Writes of Passage, where I also blog on Tuesdays), I moved the violet into my bathroom (have it sitting right by the shower and the
