Will y'all vote me off the island if I share that I'm totally hooked on Hell on Wheels?
Is anyone else watching? This season's first show was remarkable, IMO. The writing, the acting, the drama and conflict, the costumes, the whole enchilada. I'm loving it. Whether you missed it or just want to relive it (or try it out), AMC's got you covered. Watch Hell on Wheels Season 3 premiere online for free on AMC.com...

The Making of Harper Collins Christian Publishing

Do you look at the publisher's name on the spine before buying a book, relying on that company's publishing track record? Or do you mainly look at the author's name and the story summary before making your decision?

Kindle Quotes - A Lasting Impression

“Let no one define how you see yourself . . . save God alone. See yourself through His eyes and His strength, and you’ll see who you can be despite being who you are.” A dark brow rose. “But see yourself through your own eyes, and you’ll be left to question, and to doubt, subject to the whims and wishes of others who will not have your best at heart."~ Adelicia Acklen, Mistress of Belmont Mansion and a character in A Lasting Impression
"Justice does not reside in institutions, Mr. Monroe. But in the hearts of men. If those men seek Him with all their hearts.”~ Bartholomew Holbrook, A Lasting Impression
I LOVE seeing what readers highlight in my books on their Kindles. Too cool!

Giveaway for THE INHERITANCE

This novel grew from a prayer God placed on my heart to pray for my family and for myself 20+ years ago...
If you've already read The Inheritance, please consider sharing this link with a friend or on your page/profile. I'd be so grateful!
About the book:Determined to tame her younger brother's rebellious streak, MCKENNA Ashford accepts her cousin's invitation to move west, and to begin again. But she quickly discovers that life in Copper Creek, Colorado, is far from what she expected. Shouldering burdens beyond her years, McKenna tries to be the parent Robert needs, instead of the older sister he resents. But an "untimely inheritance" challenges her resolve at every turn, while also offering a second chance to restore her sense of trust--and perhaps even her heart.
U.S. Marshal WYATT Caradon is dedicated to bringing fugitives to justice, yet years of living on the trail have taken their toll. When his path intersects with that of McKenna, he comes face-to-face with a past he never wanted to relive--and the one woman who can help him find the future he's been longing for.
As McKenna struggles to let go of her independence and Wyatt considers opening his heart again, they discover an inheritance beyond imagination. But it will come at a price.
Giveaways are one way for me to say, "Thanks for reading!" Truly, I'm so grateful. You have a ton of books from which to choose to read in your very limited time. So…thank you!

Stories Convince Better Than Logic
For all you writers AND lovers of story…
Here's a great blog post by Dr. Stan Williams , author of The Moral Premise (which I highly recommend) and my occasional partner-in-crime when I need help with story structure. Don't you love this picture that he included in his post?

Meeting at The Well

I love it when God weaves our lives together…
Saturday morning, I ran over to Nolensville to mail some packages and then––seeing how I love poking around antique stores––I continued half a mile down the road to the quaint little row of antique shops where I've found a few treasures before.
I hadn't been in Three French Hens for more than a minute or two when a friend I hadn't met yet approached me. And I'm so glad she did! Aimee Touchstone, you absolutely made my day, lady. I'm grateful for your kind words about my books and am so glad we connected.
Aimee's family was with her too, so I had the pleasure of meeting them as well. As it turns out, their family is involved in a ministry that's important to Joe and me as well––providing clean drinking water to third world communities who don't have it.
Aimee's husband Rob is the Co-founder, Pastoral and Mission Director for The Well Coffeehouse, a non-profit coffee house in the heart of Nashville (Green Hills area), and their purpose is to change the world, one cup of coffee at a time.
Listen as Rob shares their vision and their love for people…

Nashville, TN 37215
The name The Well comes from John 4 and Jesus' encounter with the Samaritan woman at the well. I love Jesus' response to her when she questions why he's asking her for a drink… "Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life." (NIV)
What a privilege to partner with an organization like The Well to provide not only clean drinking water, but living water as well. I'll be making a special trip to The Well very soon and––if you live in Nashville or when you're passing through––I hope you will too. They also have a full online store with coffee, a to-die-for mug, shirts, and much more.
I love how God weaves our lives together. I thought I was going to Three French Hens on Saturday morning to unearth a treasure. And as it turns out, I did. Thanks, Aimee! Thanks, Rob! And blessings in your ministry. I'll be seeing you again soon.
Are you involved with an organization that helps provide water to third world countries? If not, I'd encourage you to check into The Well. And if you're an antique shopper, I'd love to know what treasures you've unearthed recently.
Blessings on your Tuesday!
