Happy Birthday!

Today (well…yesterday, I'm running late…again) was Elaine's birthday.

Continuing a tradition….I knit her a sock

Just one.  Her feet are significantly smaller than mine, so I can't test the fit by tugging the sock-in-progress over my own foot without stretching it out of shape.  (I also have to resurrect . . . → Read More: Happy Birthday!

I don't think this is a compliment….

I succumbed to the latest fad and fed the first two chapters of "Behind Time" to the I Write Like site.

It promptly generated this….  (In any other genre, I'd know it wasn't a compliment, but maybe…in fantasy…

Well…I can hope.

I write like H. P. Lovecraft

I don't think this is a compliment….

Another upside to ebooks and their readers…

Now that we're committed to Closed Circle in particular and ebooks in general, I'm always on the lookout for new justifications for my Kindle.

An update on Ethel

Last Friday I said I'd be going back to the ALF around the corner to see how Ethel was doing, and I did.  Friday afternoon I learned that she had indeed broken her hip and that she and her daughter, who lives in a nearby town, and the doctors were evaluating . . . → Read More: An update on Ethel

Fun and Games with Zippers

Well, it doesn't much like the Woolly Fabulous inspiration, but I finished (really finished, as in turned into an almost useful object!) the "exploration" that Diane, Roberta, and I played with last week in Macon.  The construction wasn't nearly as intuitive as we'd hoped it would be, so bought . . . → Read More: Fun and Games with Zippers

Today's Good Deed

I had a client coming over this morning for some data/publications consulting, so, naturally, I rounded up the trash and used kitty-litter to haul down to our dumpsters.  I'd just dropped the lid on the big, blue steel box when I heard a sound.  A cat? I thought, because we've got . . . → Read More: Today's Good Deed

Deep Cleaning

Yesterday I woke up to the sound of beeping, a sound that usually means the power's died…again.  But there were numbers visible on the alarm clock and the overhead fan was spinning.  It was spinning a bit slower than usual, but I don't turn it on until after lights-out and I . . . → Read More: Deep Cleaning
