Six Sentence Sunday – 10/28

It’s been a busy few weeks for me, and last week was no exception. I had to bow out of Six Sentence Sunday because of a weekend-long volunteer commitment. But now, I back with some exciting news. Two of my books have been selected as finalists for the 2013 EPIC Awards! Ragged Edge is a finalist in the Erotica category while Perfect Limit is a finalist in the Short Story category. How about 6 today from Perfect Limit?

Feelings didn’t belong in the equation when it came to this kind of relationship, this lifestyle. Rayna paid her monthly membership fees to get off, nothing else. At least that’s the way she wanted to keep it, but lately it had grown increasingly harder to ignore whenever Burke came near.

But she knew her emotions were one-sided. The utmost professional, he’d made it clear from the beginning both of their emotions would be held in check. Burke found her sexy because someone else paid him to.

For those new to this, the rules are simple:

1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy if you’re published

2) pick six sentences

3) post ‘em on Sunday

An Award & Updates

I think I’m finally recovered after a few super busy weeks. Two releases just days before I flew to Ohio for Romanticon 2012. Then, immediately after I returned from Romanticon 2012, I attended a ceremony for an achievement my husband received. Then immediately after that, I had an annual volunteer commitment to see to for the entire weekend. I’ve got a few moments to take a breath before my daughter and I participate in the Making Strides for Breast Cancer 5K this Saturday. After that things should calm down significantly and I’m looking forward to chewing away on word counts again. I’m really excited about some of the things I’m getting ready to work on!

Romanticon 2012 was a fabulous experience where I finally got to meet my crit partner, Stacey Kennedy, face to face for the first time and got to hang out with Lisa Fox and Emily Cale again. I’ll get to see Lisa and Emily again in December and I’m already looking forward to it. My volunteer commitment may change weekends next year and conflict with Romanticon 2013. I’m hoping things work out in better favor though!

All the swag I took to Romanticon 2012–storm chaser can cozies and Iron Cruisers (Dalton’s chopper shop in Ragged Edge) shot glasses–vanished faster than I could keep up! I’ll definitely be bringing more of the cozies with me to Romantic Times Convention in Kansas City in May 2013. I’ll be ordering more shot glasses as well, but because I’m flying to Kansas City, probably won’t have them with me at the time. They’re heavy little boogers. LOL I’ll have some other cool swag to giveaway though! And, unless things change, I’m planning on signing the paperbacks for Ragged Edge and Natural Lust during the huge Book Fair held during the convention.

While attending Romanticon, I received some fantastic news that I hope I can share soon. Just waiting for a few more things to line up before I can make an announcement. In the meantime, how about a looksee at the award I received Saturday night during the award ceremony for Chasing Sin?

Six Sentence Sunday – 10/14

I’m still at Romanticon 2012 today (today is the book signing!) but thought I’d share a few sentences from a little something I’m working on at the moment:

“The metal rouses my instincts. The cold hardness makes me want to use it to mark my sub. Days after our encounter, she’ll look at the mark and know who put it there. She’ll remember the scene–the way she felt.”

“You.”

“Yes, she’ll remember and, as soon as the marks fade, she’ll return to beg me to do it again.”

For those new to this, the rules are simple:

1) pick a project – a current Work in Progress, contracted work or even something readers can buy if you’re published

2) pick six sentences

3) post ‘em on Sunday

Six Sentence Sunday – 10/7

Sharing six smokin’ hot ones from my newest release, Reclaiming the Edge

Dalton’s mouth collided against hers, stealing her breath.

The feral sound of Cade’s roar as he erupted inside her raised the fine hairs on the back of her neck. He lifted her once, shoving her back down with such force, she knew she’d wear the imprint of his fingers on her hips for days to come.

She shook against him from the power of their releases. Her body pulsing as she floated on a cloud of sheer contentment. Reality ceased to exist as, piece by piece, she shattered.

Release Day for Reclaiming the Edge

Ready for my hottest story yet? Well, today’s the day! Release day for Reclaiming the Edge. If you’ve read Ragged Edge and loved this triad as much as I have, you’ll want to pick up this sexually-charged, emotion filled follow up to the beginning of their story. If you haven’t read Ragged Edge, no worries, Reclaiming the Edge stands alone very nicely.

Starting today, and running through 4 pm EST 10/10/12, leave a comment here or any place I’m visiting during that time to be entered to win a download of choice from my backlist (Ragged Edge & Reclaiming the Edge excluded).

Ellora’s Cave: http://www.jasminejade.com/p-10382-reclaiming-the-edge.aspx

It isn’t a birthday celebration without a little pain to chase the pleasure—at least according to Dalton and Cade, the two men who stole Erin’s heart. Relationships are complicated and Erin has been retreating—both emotionally and physically—from her lovers. Pushed away for reasons they don’t understand, and determined to erode her resistance, the men devise a wicked plan. They intend to use two very special gifts and one captivating night to reclaim her submission. They don’t count on Erin’s trip to subspace exposing a heartwrenching confession…one that threatens to rip the triad apart forever.

Warning: Contains a well-trained, dirty-talking submissive who succumbs to the commands of her Master, custom nipple clamps, tongue wagging oral sex, a well-deserved punishment with a butt plug, men who share more than a few heart-racing kisses and a custom-made-work-of-art sex chair that shows this M/M/F triad just how powerful their passion for one another is. And that’s just chapter one.

~*~

Dalton’s hands shifted, his thumbs slipping under the hem of her tee to skim across her bare skin. His touch wasn’t tentative. He clearly had no reservations about what he wanted from her despite her recent behavior. Power streamed from Dalton, inundating her senses to wipe away any hesitancy she had. He dominated her thoughts, her body suddenly aching to discover some of those positions with him.

“And there’s that look again.” The tone of his voice shifted, adopting a deep resonance that held the power to command. She shuddered at the hold he had over her body when he got this way. “Tell me what you’re thinking.”

Remembering his rules for the night, and fueled by the arousal building between them, she shifted her pelvis to slide against the hard bulge under his zipper. She tapped the high back over his head before she fit her hand against the curve of his skull, his silky black hair threading through her fingers.

“You looking at me just as you are right now. You’re naked, sitting there with that smug-bastard grin you get when you know you have what I want. And I want your cock so much my mouth waters.”

“And in this little fantasy, why haven’t you taken what you want?”

“Because you haven’t given me permission.”

Release Day for Ragged Edge (paperback) & Adult Excerpt

Hooray! Today is the official release of Ragged Edge in paperback. *tosses confetti*

Ellora’s Cave

Amazon

Barnes & Noble

Don’t forget, tomorrow is the release of the uber-sexy follow-up to the triad’s relationship in Reclaiming the Edge.

Today, how about a NSFW excerpt Erin gets a little more of an eyeful of Dalton and Cade together than she bargained for. Yet, when she finally looks away, she can’t escape the sounds of their desperate passion for one another…

Erin watched as Dalton shoved Cade up against the bay door. A voice in her mind screamed for her to look away. She had no business watching the two lovers kiss good night. That same voice gave a quiet sigh seconds later when Dalton’s mouth angled against Cade’s lips.

She managed to close her eyes to the sight, but it did nothing to erase the vivid, tender moment in front of her. In fact, it just made it worse. Her imagination was a wicked thing and carried her back to the night she’d first encountered them together here. Only this time she was between them. She sat on the motorcycle, Cade’s chest supporting her body as Dalton held her thighs open so he could slide the thick length of his cock inside her pussy.

A deep groan made her eyes pop just in time to watch one of Cade’s hands slide around the other man’s narrow waist. His thumb hooked through one of the belt loops just above Dalton’s ass and his other hand slid up, threading through Dalton’s mane of inky black hair.

Muscles moved under that fitted shirt and though Erin couldn’t see what Dalton was doing, Cade’s hand tightened against the back of his lover’s jeans. A soft groan split the early morning air and Cade’s head fell back against the aluminum door.

Oh dear God. He’s giving Cade a handjob.

Now aware of what took place just a few steps away, she turned and forced herself to keep her eyes forward. It didn’t help. In fact, it made it worse as it made her more acutely aware of the sounds they made. Dalton had cracked the window during the drive back to town and she clearly heard the satisfied groans the two men gave in response to each other.

Those sounds gathered and pooled in her gut, swelling with each passing second until it was hard to think straight because the throbbing need between her thighs overwhelmed her.

A Very Special, Exclusive, Snippet

Since this week is all about Ragged Edge and Reclaiming the Edge, I thought I’d share a sneak peek at what I’m working on next. This will be Adam’s book, and he’s a good friend of Dalton. There’s a new sub at Second Circle and though she’s come to see the show, she finds someone else that catches her eye instead…not that I can blame her. ;)

~*~

Jesus.

“No, I don’t think he has anything to do with what’s going on up there.”

She’d spoken out loud, hadn’t she? Damn. Biting her lip, Sutton nodded in apology to the man. She’d gotten go caught up in the scene playing out on the stage, she’d forgotten she wasn’t alone.

He smirked. “It’s all right. Ward is putting on quite the scene. One of the better ones I’ve seen him do.”

“Do you come to watch him often?”

The smirk expanded to a full grin. “Ward’s impressive, but not that impressive. I prefer partners with a little less testosterone. Just monitoring things.”

Her interest in the scene vanished despite the fact it appeared things were reaching a climax. His attention to detail suddenly made sense. The man beside her wasn’t just anyone. He was the club monitor. Should things in a scene get out of hand, he’d step in without batting an eye to gain control of the situation.

It also meant he held the title of Dominant.

While she may have admired Ward for his skills flogging his submissive, the man standing beside her intrigued her more. She didn’t entirely understand why. Perhaps that drove her interest even more.

A thin woman dressed in a slinky vinyl mini-skirt appeared out of nowhere, offering a bottle of water to the man. His head dipped in thanks even though his eyes never left to stage to acknowledge her.

Observant.

She liked that. A lot.

It meant he took his position of power very seriously.

He cracked open the bottle, his sharp gaze still focused on the stage. Sutton used the opportunity to study him more closely. The profile of his face was just as magnificent as the rest of him. His sandy blond hair brushed the collar of his shirt, framing a square jaw that would put David Beckham to shame. The bridge of his nose held a slight bump, a sign he’d possibly broken his nose at some point in his life.

He cast her a sidelong glance, catching her staring again. “Darlin’, I ain’t so pretty that you need to miss the best part of the show.”

Snippet from Reclaiming the Edge

With just a few days until the official release of Ragged Edge in paperback (Thursday 10/4), and a sexy follow-up to the triad’s relationship in Reclaiming the Edge (Friday, 10/5), I thought it would be fun to share some snippets.

Today, a NSFW excerpt from Reclaiming the Edge. Erin’s frustration with herself has reached an all time high, but Dalton steps in to soothe away her concerns with a present.

Erin Corvus rubbed at the tension headache building between her eyes. Tired and cranky after a long day at work, she wanted nothing more than to go home and pull the covers over her head. Most of all, she didn’t want to think. She’d spent so much time being miserable lately, she’d forgotten what it meant to be happy.

Blindly going through the motions of her life had become her modus operandi.

She’d gotten so caught up in a huge project for a client tonight, she’d nearly hit the ceiling when her cell phone vibrated. The text from Dalton had indicated the importance of meeting him and Cade at the shop around ten. Now fifteen past, neither lover was anywhere to be found. As sheriff for their small, sleepy town of Collington Creek, Kincade Roberts was usually a stickler about schedules. Hopefully he wasn’t late because something serious had happened to one of the town’s residents.

She tossed her key on the side table, annoyed she’d driven across town when she could have gone home, taken a shower and curled up in her favorite sweats. Instead she stood in the back room of Dalton Shaw’s motorcycle shop, Iron Cruisers. There were too many memories here she wasn’t interested in remembering. As she wrapped her arms in front of her, she did her best not to look at the bed.

It was so cold and barren—just like her.

Annoyed with the sight of the location that had once been such a place of immense pleasure, she turned. The oddly shaped piece of furniture in front of her gave her pause. It seemed out of place amid the other pieces of Dalton’s bondage equipment tucked against the walls. A shimmering aquamarine fabric draped over the item, the iridescence of the cloth causing it to appear to move and flow even though the air in the room remained still

The shade of blue was the same as her eyes.

Curious now, she stepped closer, brushing her fingers against the surface. Smooth and silky, the fabric under the tips of her fingers triggered a warm feeling low in her belly. She’d worn a flowing dress made of this very same fabric the last time Dalton’s ropes had bound her wrists and ankles. He’d secured her in place to a set of chains that dangled from the ceiling, forcing her to watch while Cade knelt before him to pay loving attention to his cock.

The reminder that the devious torture had lasted for hours caused the warmth to flash to hot, burning through her so swiftly, she gasped. She took a moment to mourn the sensation that had been absent recently. Ever since her life had taken a first-class nose dive into the shitter.

Swallowing the self pity, she clutched at the covering and pulled. The material fell away, slowly revealing the treasure it hid. Interest lost in the fabric, she let it fall to the floor as she stepped forward.

Calling it furniture didn’t do the piece justice.

It was a work of art.

Dalton’s hands had been all over this thing. His craftsmanship and attention to detail was once again impeccable. A solid sheet of brushed metal served as the side support while stunning blue leather curved sensuously in a sweep that resembled the contours of a woman’s body.

She reached out, brushing her hand over the buttery leather cushion that came to her waist. She followed the arc as it dipped off to her right into a deep curve that begged to cradle someone. It swept up again, flowing into a graceful hump no higher than her knee.

The luscious curves seduced the eye as well as the mind.

“I haven’t seen that look in your eyes in a very, very long time.” Dalton stepped out of the shadows, his fingers capturing her chin to tilt her face to accommodate for their vast height difference. His lips brushed lightly against hers. “I’ve missed it.”

His arresting gray eyes had always been something she got lost in, especially when he looked as if he could devour her at any moment. The pleasurable thought did a lazy slide low in her gut.

Licking her lips, she reminded herself why she’d come here. “You’re late.”

“Seeing you look that way was totally worth it.” Dalton smiled, his fingers skimming against her forehead as he brushed her long fall of strawberry-blonde bangs out of the way. His warm lips pressed against her skin before he gathered her close to his body. She’d always felt so tiny in his arms, his muscular bulk nearly overwhelming. Trapped in his embrace, she’d once been so safe and secure, as if nothing could touch her because she was invincible.

Guest Post: Kacey Hammell

I am very pleased and very excited to welcome the super wonderful, and awesome, Kacey Hammell here today for her newest release WILD THUNDER and a giveaway!

Pushed to the Edge…

Authors are lucky…kind of. No really, we are lucky. We get to listen to voices in our heads without being institutionalized and maybe even get paid nicely for the creations we share.

That being said, it isn’t easy to refuse the voices that are sometimes relentless. The characters we live with become part of our existence and friends who are constantly there for us.

Such was the case with Ethan James.  Readers originally met him in Illusions, then again in Awakenings, and after events in both books, the man was literally boiling over with rage, angst and wanting to break something. And so began his ruthless nattering in my ear, demanding time on his own.

Then WILD THUNDER was born.  Ethan pushed me to MY limits with his constant orders, fighting me a bit on how the story would go, and is even more pissed off with me now that his short story has ended with a “What the Hell”!  Well, if he wasn’t such a pain in the tush, he might have received his HEA right away. Plus, the heroine, Shanay, wasn’t so willing to let him off the hook either.

Sometimes when an author is pushed the edge, she pushes back. LOL

WILD THUNDER

A “The Edge” short story

Connected to In the Arms of the Law Series

Contemporary Erotic Romance/BDSM

978-1-61333-394-5

Available at Decadent Publishing

On leave of absence from the police force and desperate to resolve the intense anger inside him, Ethan James escapes to the Shenandoah Mountains…alone.

During one of the worst storms to hit the area in years, he’s surprised when he opens the door to find Shanay Gold, an old friend, and sometime submissive lover, dripping wet and looking sexy as hell. So sexy, he has to keep reminding himself he’s kept her at arms-length because of the future she wants. A future he can’t give her.

When lightening sparks an old flame, desires blaze to life, and Shanay and Ethan are left with little choice but to roll with passion’s Wild Thunder.

Excerpt:

The woman on his doorstep drooped, head down, pink sweater and jeans dripping rivulets of water on the welcome mat. Her hood hid her face.

“Oh, thank goodness someone’s here. Can I come in?”

Who left a woman to fend for herself on such a night?

Ethan grabbed her arm and pulled her inside. “You must be freezing.”

Grabbing for the thick red fleece blanket on the back of the sofa, he froze, shocked as she threw the hood back to reveal her long brown hair, perfect to wrap around his wrist as he fucked her.

No, it couldn’t be…. My eyes are playing tricks on me.

But when she gathered her dark hair back in both hands, he swallowed hard.

“Shanay? What the hell.”

She gasped. “Oh my— Ethan! Of all the doors to knock on, I’m glad I found you. In the dark, I wasn’t sure if I had the right place.”

He watched, dazed, as she pulled off her shoes and kicked them across the floor toward the fire.

Shanay Gold…the very last person he expected to see. He’d tried to avoid her during the last couple of times he’d been home to see his parents. A coward’s way of things, but after their last time together, he’d resolved not to repeat the mistake again.

She wanted things in life that he did not. Kids, home, and garden, savings plans and forever-after. She didn’t deserve a man who bedded her and left before morning. Though he’d wanted a relationship with Isabella, he hadn’t been hurrying into anything long-term. Of course, that was before everyone he knew paired up…and seemed so happy.

Besides, Shanay was a family friend. If things didn’t work out with her, he’d never hear the end of it from his mother. He’d never be able to look her father in the eye again. It had already proven difficult, and no one knew about them. It would be hell if their parents found out.

“Hang on a sec, would you? I want to get out of these clothes before I wrap the blanket around me.”

Shanay’s words registered. His body jerked as she pulled off the sweatshirt, revealing a lime green bra underneath. His heart raced, seeing her luscious tits encased by the lace. He coughed to clear his dry throat. “There is a bathroom just down the hall.”

Her laughter surprised him. He didn’t see anything humorous.

“As if you haven’t seen it all before. Don’t be such a prude. Besides, I don’t want to track water all over, and it’s warmer here.”

He watched—helpless and eager—as she yanked open the buttons on her jeans, and dragged the denim down her hips.

He appreciated her slim and sexy body as she straightened. The bright green bra and matching panties highlighted all her best assets. Gorgeous.

“If you’re shy, you better turn around now,” she stated, laughter in her voice, hands at her waist, ready to shed the bits of lace left covering her.

Ethan held her stare. Yes, he had seen it all before, but if she wanted to play with fire, she might very well get burned.
