PhilCon

Had an enjoyable weekend at PHILCON, the Philadelphia area science fiction and fantasy convention held at the beautiful Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill, NJ. Signed many copies of "Starship Alchemon" and "Duchamp Versus Einstein," and participated in some fascinating panel discussions. Met a stellar group of authors, scientists and knowledgeable fans (all while in the company of Joyce, a most wonderful traveling companion!). Hoping to make a return visit in 2020.

Starship Alchemon launches...

Shaping up to be a busy month with the release of the new novel, STARSHIP ALCHEMON.
On Nov 8th and 9th I'll be attending PHILCON at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Cherry Hill, NJ. The convention is hosted by the Philadelphia Science Fiction Society, whose roots go back to 1936.

STARSHIP ALCHEMON has its official launch at the Con on Saturday the 9th from 5-7 pm. I'll be doing some panel discussions as well.

On Sunday the 10th I'm back in Berks County, PA, for an autographing session at the Barnes & Noble in Wyomissing from 1-4 pm.

More personal appearances here.

Regarding the ascendance of hate speech and general Internet nastiness...

The triumph of social media is that it gives everyone a voice; the tragedy of social media is that it gives everyone a voice.

Not suggesting restricting democratic ideals online. But man, it would be so nice if people exhibited a basic respect for the viewpoints of others. But sadly, maybe in our age, discourtesy is fated to trump civility.

WOODSTOCK...

Been listening to "Back to the Garden," the 10-disc CD set celebrating the 50th anniversary of the historic concert. WXPN-Philadelphia is playing it this weekend, matching up the hour/day when the acts played at the original event. Wasn't there but brings back musical memories.

Politics is like riding a bike.
Lean too far to the left or too far to the right and you fall over.
