Things I'm counting the days for...

Obviously one of the things I've been looking forward to all year is the release of my very first novel. Yay for being a published author! I've been so anxious and excited about this for so long now that once it finally happened I was worried I'd feel a bit empty inside. But as it turns out I have several other things I'm counting down the days for just as much.
TWO WEEKS AND SIX DAYS!!  First things first, I am so counting down the days until school starts again! Little Josh graduated...

Men Are From Mars. Women Are from Venus.

Today I had the pleasure of babysitting some of my nieces and my nephew and every time I have them all, I'm always amazed at the stark differences between boys and girls. Case in point:

The Boys:

I guess you're never too young to play Aliens and Space Marines. And while they were running around the house, jumping on my furniture, killing each other, this is what the girls were doing...

The Girls:

Any questions?

More Than You Ever Wanted To Know

Look at me with another blog so soon after the last. Who knows? Maybe I'll get better at this blog thing. But... seeing as how I cheated and just ripped this entry off from my husband's blog... maybe not.

A while back my husband decided he wanted to do a photo comparison between the two of us growing up. The man is a talented, creative, genius who loves me more than I deserve, and the result of his project was so fantastic that I just had to post it on my blog as well. Enjoy the pictures and l...

Emergency Preparedness

In my family we have what we call Family Home Evening. This is something that my church encourages it's members to do. Basically it means that Monday night is family night. We sing songs, play games and always have a lesson of some kind. Sometimes it's a spiritual/religious lesson, and other times it's a more practical lesson. My kids really love it. (And Im sure it has nothing to do with the fact that there are always treats at the end.)

About six months ago, after we moved into our new house...

Third Time's A Charm...

Never say never. No, really. Otherwise you end up knocked up. After my second child was born I said never ever EVER again, and look at me now...

Okay, so there's not much to see yet, but really, I'm' okay with that.
I'm 19 weeks now, (which for me is officially more than half way since I get to deliver early, woohoo!) and I'm just barely starting to show. On the down side, I always feel like I just look fat, but on the up side, maybe I won't gain 60 pounds this time around like I did with each ...

I'm officially a "Soccer mom", only not...

First of all can I just say, wow I suck? I can write until my fingers are sore every day and yet I can't keep up a blog? Maybe it's because I'm supposed to be talking about my life, which is just not as exciting as making a bunch of stuff up.

Anyway, now that that's out of my system.

I know most people usually start getting their kids involved in things like sports when they're around three or something like that, so I'm getting a late start. But my children have never really been all that inte...

When I grow up, I want to be...

An engineer. Of the locomotive variety. No, really. If I didn't have a family and could do anything I wanted, I'd go to work for the railroad and drive trains.

Everyone wants to be something when they're a little kid. And astronaut, a doctor, a fireman... I always wanted to be a locomotive engineer. I had the hat and the whistle and everything. I got my first electric train set when I was ten, and someday, if I ever get rich, I would love to take an entire room and build a giant to-scale...

All I want for Christmas...

is apparently a ceramic flat iron. How's that for random?

Ok, this is me at the mall last week.

Tra la la, shopping with my mom!
And my sister!
And my daughter!
And my neice!
Just us girls shootin' the breeze...
Looking for some baby clothes... (For my sister, not me.)
Minding our own business...
Everything's great...
then WHAM!  "DO YOU WANT A DEMONSTRATION?"

You know those middle kiosks in the mall with the crazy-aggressive sales people? Well I always take extra care to avoid eye contact because I hat...
