Tarah Scott's Blog, page 3

The story is fraught with intrigue, adventure and ultimately, true love.

Not having read MY HIGHLAND LOVE of the Highland Lord Series, I decided
to read it before embarking on my review of  MY HIGHLAND LORD and I was
very glad I did.

Tarah Scott is a true wordsmith!  Her writing
is descriptive and her characters are full of depth, very real and quite
amusing! The stories are very well thought out and have a great feel of
the times.  I was able to lose myself completely in the lords and
ladies, the soirees, the pomp and circumstance, and most importantly,
the rules of the times.

A case of mistaken identity
leads Kiernan to save Phoebe from highwaymen and subsequently kidnap
her himself.  As Phoebe attempts to gain her freedom she thinks herself
to be one step ahead, but finds herself ultimately one step behind
Kiernan.  They travel, meeting interesting characters along the way that
add to the reality of the times.  From the very beginning the sparks
begin to fly.  The story is fraught with intrigue, adventure
and ultimately, true love.

I can't wait for the next book in the Highland Lord Series by Tarah Scott.

My Highland Lord--Supremely interesting and captivating

Top pick at The Romance Reviews

MY HIGHLAND LORD is a hilarious and an intriguing adventure in which all kinds of mysteries and romance surround our heroine.

Lord Ashlund, Kiernan MacGregor, kidnaps Phoebe Wallington, mistaking
her for his friend's mistress, Lady Heddy Ballingham. He is only trying
to heal a lover's quarrel for a friend.

Phoebe is outraged, for she is trying to clear her father of treason.
She is working as a British spy with this goal in mind when this lunatic
highwayman kidnapped her and took her off to Scotland. There seems to
be others trying to kidnap her too, and a fierce gun battle and flight
to safety ensue.

When Phoebe injures herself trying to jump out of the moving carriage,
she finds herself being cared for by the handsome highwayman. Needless
to say, sparks fly for he is a hot, sexy man.

MY HIGHLAND LORD is fast-paced and energetic. I loved all the
characters, including the bodyguard/butler Mathers and the endearing
Uncle Albery, just to name a few.

The whole story is very descriptive and you feel like you are with the
characters along for the ride. The witty dialect is great fun. It is
highly descriptive with loads of satirical comebacks and funny lines.

I give MY HIGHLAND LORD five Stars out of five because it was
supremely interesting and captivating. I think the addition of
historical events added to the flavor of the mystery and excitement.

I look forward to more of these Highland Lords! Great job, Tarah Scott!

Welcome to the Majesty that can only be Tarah Scott

Welcome to the Majesty that can only be Tara Scott.  Be prepared to be
swept up in the intrigue and wonder of her newest addition to the
Highland Lords Series.  Phoebe isn't your typical English miss.  Far
from it.  She has an inner countdown til her wealth is released to her
and she can rule her own world, live life the way she wants to.  Spying
for the government left no time for such frivolous things as love and
marriage. She could never explain to a husband of her comings and goings
in the middle of the night or her determination to serve the cause.
How unlucky for her that now she is in quite a predicament thanks to
one determined lord who wished to play cupid and a mistaken identity.
How can she escape this scandal and still hold her place in society?

Kiernan had watched Phoebe from afar all night.  He could attest to the
reasoning behind Regan's fascination with this lady.   It was a shame he
was in such a snit about her constant avoidance of him.  Being a good
friend, Kiernam had decided to rectify their current squabble and
re-unite the lovers.  He didn't plan on being absolutely fascinated by
the lady himself.  Had he bitten off more than he could chew?

I really enjoyed Phoebe's character.  She was smart, witty, sneaky, and
used every angle to her advantage.  At times, I almost felt sorry for
Kiernam...almost..lol.  But it seems that Kiernam isn't the only man who
is determined to have her.  Even though he sets out to undo the damage
his had unknowingly brought on Phoebe, she fights him at every turn.
This books was completely engrossing and enraptured you from start to
finish, and what an ending indeed!!  A must read for all Historical
Romance lovers.  This book is sure to capture your heart and leave you
in breathless anticipation for the next edition!!  Excellent read!! Close Encounters with the Night Kind

Tarah Scott did it again! My Highland Lord

Tarah Scott did it again! Having read MY HIGHLAND LOVE of her Highland
Lords series, I decided to read her next book MY HIGHLAND LORD! Again, I
was not disappointed! Let yourself get carried away by this amazing
Scottish romance. Ms. Scott wrote an intricate web of romance, plot,
conspiracy and adventure. You will discover a sizzling chemistry between
her two characters Kiernan and Phoebe. Phoebe, a London heiress, was
seven years old, when a mass assassination attempt was discovered and
her father was accused of treachery. Now, a British spy, will do
everything in her power, to discover the truth. But Kiernan MacGregor,
the Marquess of Ashlund, pretending to be a highwayman, will kidnap her!

I prefer that you read the story to find why! But soon, sparks will
flare between Kiernan and Phoebe. Some scenes are funny, some sensual.
Let's just say that Kiernan loves to tease her, and Phoebe, doesn't like
to be teased or told what to do, she always want to say the last word.
Ms. Scott wrote some funny scenes of teasing between her two characters.
From start to finish, MY HIGHLAND LORD was a delight to read and I
highly recommend this amazing Scottish romance. Tarah Scott is a great
writer! I will definitely be reading more of her books. Nicole Laverdure

Riveting & Swoon-fully Delicious My Highland Lord

Phoebe Wallington (London
Heiress) and Kiernan MacGregor (the Marquess of Ashlund) tale is
absolutely riveting. Kidnapping is just the beginning in this tale but
ends up in an adventure of finding true love and truths to a mystery
that keeps the reader memorized to the each scene as the plot unfolds. I
stayed totally entranced and glued to the pages with the fast paced
action and the chemistry between the characters.

Phoebe is one
feisty and stubborn woman that I totally loved. I loved how independent
she was or shall I say how she tried to be. She had me laughing out
loud several times especially with her sneakiness when trying to spy and
then getting caught red handed that put her in a position she wasn’t
prepared for. I also loved how determined she was to clear her fathers
name and figure out why he was being accused of being a traitor.

I
loved Kiernan, another swoon worthy highlander. Sigh! Like father Lord
Marcus MacGregor, Kiernan is truly honorable, however with Kiernan,
honorable can be defined in several ways depending on which side of the
government control you are on. LOL I loved his humorous side and how
sexually convincing he was towards Phoebe.

The ending was perfect
and I loved how the turn of events exposed the truth when looking from a
different perspective. I look forward to the next book in the series
and I highly recommend any of Tarah Scott’s fabulous books. Ronda Tutt

Excellent Read!
