Publishers Weekly Review for Lords of Passion

Lords of Passion

Virginia Henley, Kate Pearce, and Maggie Robinson, Kensington/Brava, $14 trade paper (320p) ISBN 978-0-7582-5107-7

This lively book collects three well-matched historical romance novellas set in England. In Henley's "Beauty and the Brute," high-born teens Charles and Sarah are wedded to settle Charles's father's gambling debts. Mortal enemies on their wedding day, they part for three years, only to reunite as strangers and experience unexpected passion. In Pearce's "How to Seduce a Wife," prim young Louisa March yearns to feel pleasure in the bedroom. Her husband, Nicholas, wants to help her, but doesn't know how. Could a Mayfair madam help them? In Robinson's delicious "Not Quite a Courtesan," a young heiress gets far more than she bargains for when she marries into a family of swindlers short on cash but long on charm. Readers will float away on the literary flair of these escapist tales, each touched with just the right amount of eroticism. (Dec.)

Delicious! Literary flair! Plus just the right amount of eroticism. :) I'm floating away right now!

Going Clubbing

Mistress by Midnight is going to be a featured alternate for the Doubleday, Rhapsody and Book of the Month clubs in December! Squee! And here's a sneak peek at the beautiful new bookmarks I've got coming. I can't wait to send them out.

I'm also getting very excited for my critique partner Tiffany Clare's debut, The Surrender of a Lady in a few weeks. This book has been getting deservedly fabulous buzz. I'm going to be giving away a copy next month on both Maggie Robinson's and Margaret Rowe's ...

Feeling Organized, but Still Passionate

I spent Labor Day weekend going over the page proofs for Mistress by Midnight. It's always a thrill to see what the book will look like in my hand, and it means soon Kensington will be sending me ARCs! And you know what that means (see here and below for a way to win an ARC of Lords of Passion). As soon as I get some, we'll have more fun with a #Mistress Monday or two and a website contest.

Mistress by Midnight is a bit different from Mistress by Mistake. It's an emotional, angsty reunited...

Feeling Passionate

I'm back from a busy, busy August. Big sigh of relief to sleep in my own bed. The squee you hear after the sigh? Lords of Passion (December 2010) is a featured alternate selection for the Rhapsody Book Club! And also picked for the "Heartthrob of the Month" centerfold. To celebrate, I'm giving away one ARC (advance reader copy) of Lords of Passion on the contest page this month. Just enter and tell me who your heartthrobby hero is—Hugh Jackman? Johnny Depp? The adorable Old Spice guy Isaiah ...

Summer Highlights

Going to a writers' conference has sapped my strength for writing! So I thought I'd share a list and take a little break from blogging this month–we are spending next week at a vacation compound with about a million friends and relatives and without TV or an Internet connection, and later in the month are going to Las Vegas for my yearly Roast-in-the-Sun-and-Read fest. Speaking of heat, Orlando was blazing, but meeting so many wonderful people warmed my heart even more.

Here, in no particular ...

Be Back Later!

I'm in the middle of packing and agonizing what to bring to RWA. Our son once drew the "Robinson Family Crest"—a mini van, a suitcase and crossed toothbrushes. We took the kids on lots of trips, and always tried to travel light (not easy with six people). My husband will never let me forget the time I went to Vienna with four suitcases (I was meeting my relatives for the first time and wanted to make a good impression. *g*). So I got accustomed to one carry-on.

But for this trip, besides...
