Housekeeping

A B+ review for Mistress by Marriage from Smexy Books begins with "I absolutely adored this book…The combination of the angst, the humor and the naughty romance really makes this book for me." To read it all, click here. Thanks, Mandi!

Mistress by Marriage was a featured book on the RT Book Reviews website, and it keeps flirting around at the tail end of the Top 100 Kindle historical romances. :)

I just turned in the second London List book. And my editor said she loved it! There were times when I didn't love it–I gave the h/h a whole lot of obstacles to overcome and I think they were mad at me, LOL. Now I'm working on a proposal for something new. I have 3000 words, no title, and I'm iffy about the characters' names. And the plot? Don't be silly. Guess I'll have to come up with one before I send it to my agent.

The Smart Bitches Sizzling Book Club to discuss Mistress by Marriage is set for Tuesday, September 27 from 9-10:30 PM EST. I'll be there the last half hour to give away some of my backlist books to participants. For more info, go here.

And it's official. Both London List books will be published (2012? 2013?) with my working titles for them…are you ready?….Lord Craig's List and Lady Anne's Lover. Yay!

Sizzling

Mistress by Marriage is the Smart Bitches' choice for the September book club! I'm pretty excited, thrilled, gobsmacked, etc. Here is the announcement, with links to discounted prices at various outlets, plus a chance to comment to win one of four paperback copies. Toward the end of the month (tentatively scheduled for 9/27), there will be a reader discussion online, and I'll be there at the end to answer any questions/defend myself, LOL. Thanks to Sarah Wendell and Kensington for making this possible!

The Season Reviews Mistress by Marriage

"Grab your favorite drink, a cozy blanket and plop yourself in your favorite reading chair, this one will have your attention from start to finish. Maggie Robinson has a beautiful writing style that puts me at ease while capturing my attention completely. I was drawn to this very original storyline and enjoyed the characters as well. Both Edward and Caroline have their secrets and insecurities, Caroline more so than Edward. Their relationship is addictive and puzzling. I couldn't wait to see if these two would iron out their differences and make their marriage work, or if they would remain as man and mistress for good. There were numerous passages that made me chuckle while yearning for more interaction between these two." The complete 4 star review is here, including an excerpt. Thank you, reviewer Tiffany!

The Romance Dish Reviews Improper Gentlemen

4 Stars!

"Lucy had loved Simon Grant with all of her young heart but the thief had left her behind seven years earlier and never returned for her as he had promised. So six years ago, Lucy also left Scotland – to move to Jane Street in London, also known as Courtesan Court, where she has lived as "mistress" to Percy, Lord Ferguson – a man with exquisite manners, impeccable taste in clothing, especially women's clothing, and a deep fondness for his butler. When Percy suffers a reversal of fortune and sells his Jane Street home to Sir Simon Keith, an English war hero, Lucy is stunned to discover he and her long-missing Simon are one and the same. Lucy wants nothing to do with Simon but Simon is determined to finally make Lucy his, no matter what she has (or hasn't) done over the past six years, even if the now proper gentleman has to get a little improper to accomplish it!

Robinson's "To Match a Thief" sparkles with wit, humor and characters who all take turns stealing the show. It's an absolute delight!"

Romance Junkies Reviews Mistress by Marriage

Thank you, Dottie from Romance Junkies! The plot summary and complete review is here, but here's the best part:

"A sizzling hot read, MISTRESS BY MARRIAGE, the third book in phenomenal author Maggie Robinson's COURTESAN COURT trilogy, is a steamy, witty historical romance. Readers will find themselves reading into the night to see what happens next. Those who have read the other books in this series, MISTRESS BY MISTAKE and MISTRESS BY MIDNIGHT, will be treated to an update on some of the characters from those books.

The whole series revolves around the women on Jane Street who have their own little society, meeting for tea each week and helping each other when needed. The houses on this street are in much demand and are like a status symbol for the men of the ton. Teeming with clever repartee, heartbreak, secrets, scandal, blistering hot love scenes, kidnapping, romance and plenty of love, this story is one you will want to read time and again. A definite keeper! All it takes is seeing the name Maggie Robinson on a book to make it a must read for me. Do not miss MISTRESS BY MARRIAGE or any of the other books in this delightful series!"

Master of Sin Cover

It's positively sinful. *g* Look for Andrew and Gemma's story in April 2012!

Andrew Rossiter has used his gorgeous body and angelic face for all they're worth—shocking the proper, seducing the willing, and pleasuring the wealthy. But with a young son depending on him for rescue, suddenly discretion is far more important than desire. He'll have to quench his desires—fast. And he'll have to find somewhere his scandalous reputation hasn't yet reached…

Miss Gemma Peartree seems like a plain, virginal governess—or so she hopes. No matter how many sparks fly between them, she has too much to hide to catch Andrew's eye. But with a stormy Scottish winter driving them together, it will be hard to keep her secrets. Especially when Andrew feels he has found the woman who can restore his soul—one kiss at a time…
