New album I love.

Carlos Whitaker is the godfather of Christian blogging. And now, he's got a great new album. I hung out with him last week and got a copy. I love it. He's one of the most honest, talented folks I know and I'm really excited about the release of this album. This isn't a sponsored post or a paid ad, just one friend proud of another. Here's the new album "Ragamuffin Soul" on itunes. Check it out.

The Daniel Fast.

I don't know if a fast can be considered "hot," but dang, that Daniel Fast is on fire.

It kind of feels like saying a book of the Bible is blowing up. Like out of nowhere Joel is getting ridiculous buzz. But it's true. The Daniel Fast is like the Lady Gaga of fasts right now. Non stop hits. I'm not sure if it is competing against other fasts but if it is, game over. Game over Daniel Fast.

I haven't done it yet but it seems pretty simple. It's a fast where you attempt to mirror the type of diet ...

1 thing that changed the way I chase dreams.

Yesterday, I asked you what "your thing" is.

I asked what was that activity or art or passion that you chase. And there were some really fun answers and it was exactly the kind of thing I like to discuss on the weekends on Stuff Christians Like. I try to stay faithful to the concept of the blog all week, but on the weekends, all rules are off.

So today I thought I would share one thing that forever changed the way I chase one of my "things," which is writing.

It is not dramatic. It is not...

What's your thing? A short Saturday question.

A friend of mine wants to be an illustrator, but right now he's a salesman. Another friend wants to be an actor but works in PR. A girl I know wants to be an abolitionist but is currently a school teacher. We are a generation of people working on other things while we wait for "the thing."

So that's the question today, what's your thing?

What's the thing that makes you feel alive, that talent or gift or art or activity that feels handcrafted for you? Is it something you're already doing all...

Does Donald Miller want to be your friend?

Tripp Crosby and Tyler Stanton are hilarious. They believe that lots of people read Donald Miller's books and think inside, "I bet Donald and I would be really good friends if we ever met." The result of their experiment is a hilarious video after the jump.

Figuring out if you're at a Christians concert.

(I've actually met Bryan. Most of my blog friends haven't become 3D yet. We've tweeted and what not but never really hung out. But Bryan is the exception. We sat at the Catalyst Conference together and then pretended we belonged to be backstage.

Some people love to rave about their favorite TV show. (LOST and it's not even close.)

Some people love to rave about their favorite mirror. (I swear I look like the love child of Jude Law and Brad Pitt in the downstairs men's room at church.)

And some p...

They wouldn't do this to Donald Miller.

Wednesday night, me and Mike (my Zondervan buddy) left the cardboard cut out of me (whose very existence is ridiculous) in a back room at the Catalyst conference. Most of that day I carried it around with me and would say, "What?" when people acted surprised that I was carrying flat me. On Thursday morning we showed up and the cut out was gone. A few hours later, we discovered where Tripp Crosby had put it.

How would you caption this photo?

Skipping church. (The definitive rules.)

I want to be honest with you.

Sometimes I exaggerate the illnesses of my children so that we can't attend church. There I said it. I feel better. Andy Stanley, doesn't read this site so I'm OK. He'll never know.

But sometimes, I do the exact opposite and try to heal my kids of any Sunday morning sickness they have so that we can make sure not to miss church.

How do I decide which step to take when I see a runny nose? Much like Roxette, I listen to my heart. That doesn't work all the time though ...

Worrying about the little things.

I know how much makeup God wants ladies to wear.

I know, pretty special right? I should really get some PR buzz out of this one. Actually, I didn't come to the planet with that knowledge. I arrived with the ability to throw Frisbee with either hand and a unibrow that just won't quit, but the makeup tip is something I learned fairly recently.

A friend told me actually. She's one of those smart, sassy southern grandmothers who just says what's on her heart, all the time. And she did at dinner...

Bragging about being clueless about pop culture.

I am going to predict something today that will probably change your life.

I'm not going to make the same claim as the first line of the Stuff Christians Like book, "If you buy this book, God will make you rich," because I don't like to exaggerate. (I just don't cotton to that.)

But I will tell you something that is going to happen in about two weeks. I will predict the future a little bit. In a few weeks, I am going to write a post about a really popular television show that is tearing...
