Can you cure cancer with your hands?
A totally mind-blowing experience: I had the pleasure of meeting Bill Bengston last week at the Society for Scientific Exploration. (I was present because the Society was kind enough to award me their Dinsdale Prize.) Among all the many intriguing talks at that meeting was Bill's presentation: he cures cancer in mice, with 100% success rate. He does this by using his hands. Nothing else.
Yes, this sounds awfully suspicious, but if you read his informal account in Edge Science you may be as impressed as I am. Bill has published many papers describing his procedures and results in peer-reviewed journals. He's not a cancer specialist of any sort -- in fact he's a sociologist. But he collaborates with medical and biological researchers all over the country. These mammary adenocarcinomas are 100% fatal; yet, he is able to cure them at the rate of 100%. The mice are really cured: once the tumor disappears, they live out their normal life spans, without ever contracting cancer.
The 800 pound gorilla in the room: if this treatment works so well in mice, then why not humans? Check out Bill's explanation at the end of his Edge Science piece.

eBooks are alive!
Three eBook versions of The Fourth Phase of Water were just (finally) released. We spent considerable time dotting our “i”s, crossing our “t”s, and reformatting our .PNGs. We are very happy to offer three digital versions:
ePub: This is the most common eBook format. It is “reflowable” meaning it will look somewhat different depending on the particular device and the reader’s preferences. The file size is 19.1 MB.
Kindle: We are offering a .mobi format which can be used with Amazon’s Kindle devices or readers. The file size is 40.8 MB
PDF: This format looks just like the original print edition and is not reflowable. You must use a PDF viewer like Adobe Reader to view. Not recommended for devices with small screens. The file size is 55.2MB
All three editions have dynamic table of contents and indexes. Also you will notice there are many links to internal and external (web) destinations. If interested, please purchase here.

The Fourth Phase of Water wins an award!
The Fourth Phase of Water, Beyond Solid, Liquid, and Vapor brought home the “Distinguished” award from the Puget Sound Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication. This is their top tier award.
The criteria for judging are based not only on content but also on how the information in the book is presented — the layout, flow of text, illustrations, etc. We spent many long hours nit-picking these details, especially by Ethan Pollack, the artist. Getting that recognition feels good.
Thanks to all the many people who helped to make this book a winner!

Fluorescing Fish
However, the result is not at all surprising. We found that structured water (EZ water) fluoresces at visible wavelengths. For anyone interested, the paper is: Chai BH, Zheng JM, Zhao Q, Pollack GH. Spectroscopic studies of solutes in aqueous solution. J Phys Chem A 112(11):2242-2247 (Mar 2008). Since live fish have gel coats (that's why they slip through your hand), and gels contain EZ water, fluorescence is hardly surprising.

Can Water Cure Disease?
Many claims exist for the health benefits of certain waters. Such claims frequently evoke skepticism because the people who make them often have financial interests in the waters they produce or endorse. We simply do not know whether those waters can really promote health and reverse pathologies.
Our recent discovery of water’s fourth phase lays a new foundation for understanding the role of water in health. Evidence suggests that this water is critical for cellular function and therefore likely to be critical for your health. We plan to launch scientific studies testing the fourth-phase water’s potential for promoting and sustaining health.
These studies have the potential to open an entirely new pathway for advancing and sustaining life -- through water.
The trouble is that initiating this new wave of studies requires seed funds. Conventional funding sources rarely look favorably on radical approaches such as this one. Therefore, we are trying to raise those funds through Indiegogo.com, a global platform for crowd funding.
If you have a moment, please take a look at our short campaign video. It explains our vision and rationale for the proposed studies, which will objectively test various waters for their ability to reverse pathologies including cancer, diabetes, and several other devastating diseases. We believe that preliminary evidence is now sufficient to justify these studies, whose results will be made freely available to everyone.
If our vision for the health of humanity resonates with you, then please consider a modest (tax deductible) contribution to our campaign, which will help us launch these critically needed studies.
Also helpful would be a post of our campaign on your social network; or send a link to visionary friends, who might be moved to join us in pursuing this scientifically based, drug-free approach to everyone’s health. The time has come.
Thanks so much, and best wishes,
Jerry

Just posted interview on water and health.
Another Skype Interview. The interviewer was Bob McCauley, who wrote a thoughtful book on “ionized” water (a.k.a “alkaline” water). Bob is really knowledgeable about water and nature, and was therefore a thoughtful and provocative interviewer. He commented that the result was one of his best, ever. Bob asked great questions, demanding thoughtful answers.

TEDx video on EZ Water finally uploaded.
Getting that video posted has been quite a saga. The live presentation took place in Canada, at the University of Guelph. The backdrop was neat, the atmosphere was full of anticipatory excitement, but technical aspects of the production gave reason for pause: problems with microphones, failure of slide advance, etc.
When the edited version was posted I was shocked. My son Ethan, who prepared the slides and rarely loses his cool, was outraged. Everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong. It contained the wrong set of slides. Animations were left unanimated. Videos became stills. Audio was barely audible. And more… Worse, they lost the original video recordings.
We had to pull the presentation from the web.
I won’t bore you with the saga that followed, except to say that one and a half years elapsed before the video could be properly edited through dint of hard work by Abe King and my son Ethan.
It’s just been posted. Please have a look. If you like it, pass the link along to your friends: http://youtu.be/i-T7tCMUDXU

My interview with health guru, Dr. Mercola.
Just posted: my Skype interview with Dr. Mercola on the role of water in health.
Mercola is the well-known natural health guru with millions of subscribers. His interest in health has been shifting toward water as a core element. I think he’s on track. We resonate on that issue.
The interview was Q and A style, but the edited version was largely a monologue. I’m glad they included some of the more radical ideas: fresh ways of looking at various health-related phenomena.
The only downside of that interview is that I look as though I missed my morning coffee.

Does hot water freeze faster than cold water?
Erasto Mpemba, a middle school student in Africa, decades ago found indeed that hot water froze faster than cold water: when Mpemba added ice-cream mix to warm water instead of cold water, and shoved those mixes into the freezer, the warm water created ice cream faster than the cold water. A paradox.
During the past several months we found in laboratory experiments that it was not just the ice cream mix that froze faster, but even pure water itself. Chambers of warm water placed next to a cooling block froze faster than chambers of cold water placed next to the block, by 10 – 15 percent. We were excited to confirm this seemingly paradoxical result (dealt with at length in my new water book).
This “Mpemba Effect” rose to prominence recently when the esteemed Royal Society proposed a contest, offering 1,000 pounds sterling to the person who could explain the paradox. They were surprised to receive 22,000 entries. The winner, recently announced, is a young scientist working in Zagreb. If you are interested, check out his explanation. See if you like it.
