GIVEAWAY - The Fortunate Ones
I am thrilled to be introducing you to Ed Tarkington’s latest novel, The Fortunate Ones, which comes out tomorrow, January 5th.
Charlie was raised in Nashville by his young single mother , on the wrong side of the tracks. The novel starts with a grown-up Charlie who sees something on the news that reels him back in time to his formative years when he had the good fortune of being accepted into an elite prep school. Here, he is thrust into the world of the Southern elite and all of the privileges that affords. He is exposed to the world of politics and he has now been given a taste of what upward mobility looks like. This is a riveting, atmospheric read. Charlie’s new world is full of secrets and missteps and it’s a book that questions what it means to be complicit in a racist society.
I read this one quickly because I had such a hard time putting it down! Thank you to @algonquinbooks for the advanced review copy.
And I am giving away a copy! All you have to do to be eligible is give me on Instagram @jennifercaloyeras and leave a comment on my instagram post! I’ll DM the winner by Saturday, January 9th. U.S. mailing addresses only please.
