The Mystery of Akash Revealed

Everyday from 9 to 5 she sat in front of her computer completing the rote tasks demanded by her job. She would take an hour break for lunch, but often that hour consisted of only a quick sandwich as she lacked the ambition to make anything else to eat. The weight of her routine life felt hard to bear and draining. Her friends seemed so much luckier in that they landed fulfilling and creative jobs while she drudgingly accepted the only job offer that she received.

Ever wondered why life seems t...

Can We Master Time?

Years ago, people put pen to paper as a means of reminding themselves of tasks they needed or wanted to complete. Of course, the commercial market took notice of the fact that people commonly had to-do lists, and written schedules of this and that. They created decorative pads, calendars, and ‘post-its’; a means to beautify our time. More recently computers, iPads, and mobile phones have all added the conveniences of memos, lists, and calendars, making pen and paper almost obsolete.

Does all th...

What Is Karma?

Last year she’d broken up with someone suddenly without really taking his feelings into consideration. She was rude and brusque and thought little of it at the time. Now it was her turn to be on the hurting end of that dynamic. She’d just confessed deep feelings for the man she was dating, and he immediately ended the relationship. Was this her karma? Was it fate? Had she just gotten what was coming to her because of her past behaviors?

Unfortunately, the idea of karma has become deeply buried ...

Recipe for a Successful Relationship

A bond between two partners in marriage or any committed relationship is intimate, multi-layered and complex, and it is hard to say what defines the quality of this relationship. Relationships between people sometimes deepen over time, while at other times they grow stagnant and fall apart.

There is usually a lot of pain associated when people separate, and things sometimes turn ugly. How can these situations be avoided? Are breakups because of mismatched personality styles trying to make it wo...

To Sail or Drop the Anchor?

Do enlightened beings have no karma? Can ordinary people emulate their approach to handling karma? Of the many forks in the road to handling karma, which one is the easiest? In this video, Sadhguru helps elucidate these questions and offers a potent tool to handle karma effortlessly.

The word “karma” means action and all activity leads only one of two ways– liberation or bondage. Sadhguru compares bondage to a sailor throwing the anchor and exposes the real question– do we want to sail or drop...

Dr. Vasant Lad on Sadhguru’s Book on Karma

What is karma? Most people understand karma as a balance sheet of good and bad deeds, virtuous acts and sins; the mechanism that decrees that we cannot evade the consequences of our own actions. In reality, karma has nothing to do with reward and punishment. Karma simply means action. But what does that really entail? To what extent does that action affect us and do we have any control over our actions?

Dr Vasant Lad speaks about many of the explanations found in Sadhguru’s book, Karma: A Yogi’...

Are You Seeking Truth?

He was called into his boss’s office. The conversation did not go well. His boss indirectly told him that he was going to have to lay him off, but he was a valuable employee nonetheless. It was a soft pitch but a hard blow, and he could tell that his boss was just not being up front with him. He just wanted the truth and asked for it, plain and simple. However, his boss was incapable of delivering it.

We don’t always like what we hear and often people will sugarcoat a response to not have to de...

Eternal Echoes

Poetry has been a means for writers since the pen has graced paper, with inspiration and insights into experiences often beyond description. Like music, it can stir our essential self into a deeper understanding of life.

The Play of Success

What are the magical ingredients behind success? Why do some people seem to be geared towards it? And how do some people not only achieve so well, but seem to do so joyfully and with a seeming ease and grace? Is there a particular way of approaching achievement in order to make it happen? We may try so hard to achieve a particular result. In this video Sadhguru reveals that focusing on ‘the result’ may itself be the very obstacle in achieving it.

This seems counterintuitive; why is it so?

As w...

Whose Personality Is It Anyway?

Have you ever wondered what the relationship between you and your personality is? Are you your personality? Can your personality change, and what does it mean if it does?

In this video Sadhguru looks at the role that personality plays in our lives. He explores the importance of having a fluid approach over the different ‘personalities’ needed to perform certain actions in the world as well as the ability to put all this aside when alone.

Mistaking ourselves for the masks we wear leads to the ...
