Stolen urn of Buddha’s remains recovered in Cambodia

A Buddha statue is silhouetted on a hill on the outskirts of Phnom Penh, CambodiaPolice in Cambodia say they have recovered a precious gold urn that was stolen last year and contains what are considered to be remains of the Buddha’s body.

Jan.13, 2014.  A Time Line of Cambodia’s protests by Mu Sochua, a former minister of women’s affairs, is a member-elect of the National Assembly for the Cambodia National Rescue Party.  “On December 29, more than 100,000 Cambodians – garment workers, teachers, farmers and students from all over the country – marched through the streets of the capital calling for Hun Sen, our long-serving prime minister-dictator, to step down or allow an independent investigation into the flawed national elections that took place in July.”
