Just Words
If I am honest I would say at times I wonder why I write anything at all. I sometimes feel like there isn’t much point as I really don’t have an avid fan base or readership to talk of. I often feel as if my words go unread. Despite that I keep writing. I guess that there are a number of reasons why including the hope that one of these days one of my books will sell a few copies, because I enjoy writing whether or not I am very good at it and I have things to say. I think those are all good reasons.
As I have said before, its a competitive business writing. I am comfortably in the majority when I say nobody reads what I write. The minority that sells all the books is very very small. The internet is filled with people writing – that’s good isn’t it but why should my writing stand out? Perhaps another problem is that my interests are diverse – perhaps too diverse. I write for business (see the CTRMCenter for example) and I am fortunate in that, in a sense, I write for a living – a good living too. I write on this blog about anything my wacky brain finds interesting – from global warming to family matters. On Asteroth’s Domain, I write about esoteric topics. I guess I am hard to classify especially when I churn out poetry like a machine – some of it good, much of it bad and one or two gems.
On the other hand, just occasionally, you do get some feedback that seems to make you believe that someone – perhaps the right person at the right time, is stumbling upon and reading the material I produce. For example, here is part of a note I got from someone in South Korea…
“I’m a big fan of your books – they had been very helpful for the initial planning, feasibility study and execution of the first Korean ETRM project starting three years ago. Without them, it had been much longer before the commencement of the project, indeed.“

The Biggest Con in History
I have a short temper. I do! I have to work on it at all times. If there is one thing that will invariably get me to blow my top, its the topic of Global warming. I think many who know me also know this. The idea being propagated by well funded propaganda machine is that somehow we are headed to disaster if we keep polluting the planet with CO2 – a greenhouse gas – that has already warmed the planet up and is responsible for any outbreak of bad weather we see and, in a few more years will reach tipping point and we will all fry in a horrible planetary death event…. OK – that last bit is exaggerated but you get my drift.
Not only is this propaganda machine extremely well funded but it is also very clever. It creates fear and uncertainty – those things required for control. It uses the fact that most humans are not actually well enough educated to be skeptical and it relies on the fact that we human’s can only believe what we think we see with our own eyes.
This movement has managed successfully
- to call a gas – CO2 – on which this Earth is dependent for life and abundance – a pullutant! You know, at half of today-s CO2 levels, this planet (and us) would die. We actually would benefit from higher CO2 levels,
- to make you believe that the relationship between temperature and CO2 (yes – there is one), is both very strong and that temperature follows CO2 content when in fact, it is the other way around. The relationship is in fact quite weak and CO2 content follows temperature,
- It managed to make you believe that 400ppm+ of CO2 is a record and a disaster when in fact, this is almost the lowest amount of CO2 in the atmosphere in the Earth’s 4.6 Billion year history and even (on the scale of things) in the relatively recent past CO2 was over 1000ppm,
- It managed to fool you with charts and statistics so that it looks like temperatures are rising rapidly and only since man started to pump out CO2 gas into the atmosphere all by presenting selected data over a selected time period when in fact temperatures are static if not declining and have been for more than a decade and, if you extended that temperature curve backwards just a few hundred years, it would soon become apparent that today’s average temperatures are actually very very average,
- It, at one time, managed to deny that the medieval warming period actually happened at all – though this was shown to be a data ‘error’ (put kindly) or more likely – totally fraudulent in order to fool you,
- It makes you believe that people like me are a minority of evil deniers when in fact the 97% statistic (of all climate scientists who believe this stuff) they use is based on asking the question do you think that CO2 and temperature are related – a question to which I would also say Yes,
- They make you think that the polar ice caps are melting at terrible rates in an unprecedented manner but don’t tell you that entire glaciers melted (and never reformed) in the 1800′s long before we had any impact at all and, for most of its history, this planet hasn’t has ice caps at all,
- Tells you the science is proven which is actually philosophically impossible if you understand science and how it works besides which the universe of ‘climate scientists’ is so small that peer reviewing means my friend and colleague reviews my work.
I could go on all day with example after example. Meanwhile, our children are being brainwashed by this propaganda at school at your expense. Whole rafts of science and scientists are being ignored and we are being taxed and punished for producing minimal amounts of a gas we actually need in our atmosphere.
Now – do you understand why I get angry?
I am a Ph.D. Geologist. My research – peer reviewed – was about paleoclimate. Here is another very renowned Geologist who patiently and with humor totally demolishes this fallacy.

Why Can’t I Lose Weight?
Since I quit smoking I have gained weight at an alarming rate. A few months ago I decided to try to address it and I quit sugar and cut down heavily on sweets. Since this seemed to have no impact at all, I quit breads and anything wheaty. Still, no impact. I increased my exercise levels a bit with longer and brisker walks….. no impact. I cut out a lot of milk. You guessed it – no impact. I went out and bought an exercise bike and started doing 20 minutes everyday…..yes no weight loss at all…..So after christmas, I cut alcohol. At the same time, I have changed my diet and eat less fats and carbs but focus on proteins. I have eggs for breakfast, a salad at lunch and dinner is meat and vegetables usually (reduced my potato intake too).
So the alarm bells went off when I saw that I would soon hit 110kg and I was down to two pairs of pants that still fit me. As of this morning, I am just below 105kg and still only two pairs of pants fit me. My question. What am I doing wrong? At this rate, I will be eating nothing and still maintaining my weight. I simply don’t get it. How can I keep taking calories out of my daily intake, burn more calories and my weight stays pretty much the same?
I have also looked at taking vitamins D and C, drink copious amounts of green tea, try to eat peppers and a lot of other small changes that came from internet research. I am not overly stressed (though I was a year ago in my old job) and I think I get enough sleep.
Does anybody have any ideas? thoughts?

Gone to the Dogs
As you may know, we have owned for the last several years a small dog. His name is Rocky and he is a Prague Ratter or a Pražský Krysařík in Czech. Other than a slight case of halitosis, Rocky is a good little dog and good company for Deni our daughter. However, on a recent visit to the countryside and the village where Gabriela’s father lives, Rocky was a naughty boy apparently having his wicked way with a sexy young Yorkshire Terrier…. We have, of course, discussed his behaviour with him and he has promised not to do it again.
However, the Yorkie became pregnant and gave birth late last year to two Rocky juniors. Of course, we had to have one. Rocky is now having to get along with his son Mickey who looks more like his mother than his father it must be said. Mickey seems to like his Dad and constantly follows him around and tries to play with him. Rocky is taking to his new responsibilities quite well though he needs to do a better job in letting Mickey know where to pee. Deni is thrilled with her new little playmate. Mickey seems quite happy here too.
His Royal Dogness – Rocky.
Mickey – Son of Rocky.

New Version of Poems for the Little Room
I published my second book of poetry a couple of years ago and for some reason chose to do so on Lulu.com. The problem with that was it was a very expensive finished product and there was no way to make a Kindle version. Late last year, I used Amazon to publish Astral Messages – my third book or poetry – and it was so easy….. This made me think. Why not re-do Poems for the Little Room on Amazon? So – very shortly, a new version of Poems for the Little Room will be available in paperback and Kindle formats from the Amazon sites. It will still be a tad pricey because its full color but nothing like the price on Lulu.com…
My three books of poetry –
Astral Messages: Poetry from Beyond, Createspace, 2013
Astral Messages is my third book of poetry. It uses poems and blog articles from – Asteroth’s Domain – in a poetic discussion about reality and magic. From the opening ethereal beauty of “Astral Messages” to the humor of the questioning about “Why is life so dirty”, this is a collection of 17 new poems. Each is coupled with a short article to strengthen and bolster the points being made. At the end of the day, we are all magicians willfully creating our realities and Astral Messages demonstrates how this touches all aspects of our lives – yes, even our socks!
Available in paperback and Kindle formats from the Amazon sites.

Five Star Reviews
The Last Observer: A Magical Battle For Reality, Roundfire, 2013
Stan has a gift. He has always had the ability to affect his surroundings. He just does not realise the magnitude and potential of this ability. There are some though who know only too well what this could mean and the purposes to which it could be put and when a spate of psychics end up dead in mysterious circumstances it becomes clear that they are unlikely to give Stan the time he needs to discover his true potential. Help though is at hand and when Edward realises what is afoot it becomes a race against time and impending doom to find Stan and save him and the wider world from catastrophe. A thoroughly engaging career through the magical and metaphysical realms which effectively melds the new physics with ancient science, does it at break neck pace, and keeps the pages turning in a story that is un-put-downable once started. An effective cautionary tale for novices and adepts alike, which should come with a script-writers alert; this would make a cracking film! I enjoyed it immensely. Looking forward to the sequel… ~ Stuart France gave it 5-stars….
I gave Mr. Vasey’s book a 5 star rating. The reason is simple. It reads well on many levels: If you are experienced in the Western Esoteric Tradition you will quickly relate the the truth contained throughout these pages. If you have the eyes to see and the ears to hear, there are hidden gems of ancient knowledge buried deep within the pages of this book. And, if you just want a great ride, this book will thrill you like many other mystery books but with the advantage of the aforementioned perks. I really enjoyed reading it. ~ Stephen O’Connor gave it 5-stars…..
The Last Observer is a compelling fictional tale of magic, alternative realities, murder and conflict. An ordinary man is abruptly dragged into the middle of a violent struggle between black and white magicians who both seek to use his extraordinary powers of imagination and observation. He soon learns that reality is not at all what it seems before being called upon to play a decisive role in determining whose reality will prevail.
I am fascinated by what makes up reality. Faith can move Mountains it is said. In fact, faith in an ability to imagine into reality a mountain moving is what magick really is. So what might happen if a black magic cult wanted to change the world and they decided to do it via imagination and magic? Read the book and find out.
Buy it on any Amazon site and at many other book shops and websites globally.

Who is Lisa Ann?
I must confess to having read a story on one of the newspaper sites about the browsing stats published by a pornographic outlet called Pornhub. Apparently, the average Brit visits this site for just under 10 minutes a day if I understood it correctly which is just behind the US but significantly more than much of the rest of the world. Most revealing was the fact that a small town called Ware wins the award for most compulsive pornography viewing town in the UK. I have vaguely heard of Ware but that’s about it. Actually, the data, if you can stomach it, is pretty revealing. Apparently, what does for an American isn’t a Brit’s cup of tea and there appears to be a good deal of nationalism when it comes to search terms for porn! For example, ‘British’ is the top search term in England apparently.
There were one or two other surprises for me in this story. First, I have never heard of Pornhub – possibly we can all agree that’s a good thing but, even worse. is that for most British searchers on the site, the most popular search term is ‘Lisa Ann’. Really? Who the hell is Lisa Ann? Never heard of her either! Which I think really goes to show how celebrity status is so often a local thing and these people are more or less unknown elsewhere.
Not Lisa Ann – not even related to this story but a strange pic don’t you think?
To make my point, who out there has heard of Karel Gott or Lucia Bila? Or, for that matter, Gabriela Partysova or Leos Mares? These are quite to very well known Czech celebrities who routinely, along with others, grace the covers and pages of the tittle tattle rags here. It always amazes me and my family when I am back in the UK for a visit and they are talking avidly about some celeb that I have never heard of. They look at me as if to say – How is that possible? Well, I guess celebrity, or notoriety (in the case of porn), is mostly a local thing.
I did do a little research on this Lisa Ann by the way as you might expect me to do in the interests of ensuring I am up to speed. Unimpressed. You stay at home Brits can keep her.

A Premium on using Intelligence
I just read an article called ‘no, you are not entitled to an opinion‘. It’s worthwhile reading. The article talks in the context of the vaccination issue but it could equally well be talking about fracing, global warming, fukishima….. anything. You see these days everyone feels qualified to hold an opinion on everything whether qualified or not.
I just read on a lady’s blog about fracing – in her opinion – backed up by a USA Today article she uses to validate her erroneous description of both fracing and the supposed issues around it. The USA Today article correctly points out that sometimes fracing can be improperly done and it can cause problems – not a reason to be anti-fracing but certainly a good reason to ensure that fracing activities are properly planned, monitored and managed. In her monologue on fracing she repeats the so disproven concept that people have gas coming out of their taps with their water and that they can set light to their water supply. You know, in some parts of Texas that’s true. It was true 80-years ago too but apparently that’s irrelevant as fracing MUST have caused this….
People just don’t seem to actually think. They are all emotional about issues and jump on anything that seems to support their position. They will then defend their opinions actually getting rude and upset as you try to show them why they are wrong. I wrote another article on this recently – Everyone is an Expert. To be honest, I despair at this point. I am sick of seeing bullshit spouted as fact and half a dozen others pick up and propagate nonsense. Everyone most certainly is NOT an expert and most are frankly brain dead. Sorry to be rude but this is the truth and unless we start to recognize that with opinions comes responsibility to formulate those opinions around provable facts, we are in serious trouble. No one thinks critically about anything anymore.
I’m going to start down a path here that will get me in to trouble but I have a Ph.D. I earned it by undertaking original research and critical thinking. A lot of doing a Ph.D. isn’t in the subject matter that you research but in how to conduct research, how to differentiate facts from opinions, how to ask the right questions, how to build hypotheses and modify hypotheses as required. How to conduct science. You know, in retrospect, I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn these skills.
I inherited from my Father the idea that people want to learn and are open to critique and discussion. Unfortunately, I have discovered that this is erroneous. Most people hold opinions and are emotionally attached to these such that any attempt to dissuade them of their erroneous opinions are met with abuse or worse. Most people simply seem to want to stand on the (imagined) heights of their ivory towers and throw stones at the rest of us. They aren’t interested in truth, discussion or facts.
I see trouble ahead because of this. Authorities, Governments, Experts (real experts) are now seen to be somehow colluding and misleading, unreliable and all part of a giant conspiracy theory. There is no truth anymore. Just emotion-based and unassailable opinion. I have a Ph.D. and twenty-one years in the energy industry. at one time, I was employed by BP. Therefore, my position on global warming and fracing is bought and paid for by the big corporations…. end of story. As ridiculous and ludicrous as it seems, some people would rather listen to a blogger who didn’t finish high-school and has an anti-authority viewpoint than me and my experience.
Where will this end up? In anarchy of course. A world with no version of the truth. A world without responsibility because in such a world there is no responsibility behind holding an opinion and deciding that its truth.

Parallel Worlds, Aliens, Conspiracy and Life
Since I was knee high to a grasshopper I have wondered ‘what the hell is this all about?’ I mean this. The world, life and everything. It’s always been transparent to me that all is not what it seems. That ‘this’ really is an illusion – Maya. But what am I? Why do I exist? What’s the point? These questions often have plagued me and last night as I laid in bed I couldn’t sleep wondering yet again over these and similar questions. My problem was that I had been browsing the internet!
There are all sorts of ideas out there. Not just ideas but ‘creations’ if you want where someone – probably asking the same questions I am asking – decided on making some answers. I read amongst other things that we are all in a matrix providing fuel for the aliens from planet X that created us for the purpose, I read about parallel universes, all kinds of conspiracies about aliens, elite groups of lizard people and goodness knows what. Some of it is total crap I know but still, I’m not the only one who often thinks about the meaning of everything am I.
What really gets me. Eats at me in fact, is that I most likely will never actually know what anything is really about. I find this thought very difficult to deal with.
Oh yes, I have my own theories built upon my own experiences but I’m not silly enough to believe I am right. I suspect I am in for a surprise or total blackness as I simply cease to exist at all. But when I read about people like Steve jobs and his final words – “Ow wow, oh wow, oh wow” and what about Roger Ebert, the film critic, who wrote…”This is all an elaborate hoax.” I asked him, “What’s a hoax?” And he was talking about this world, this place. He said it was all an illusion. I thought he was just confused. But he was not confused. He wasn’t visiting heaven, not the way we think of heaven. He described it as a vastness that you can’t even imagine. It was a place where the past, present, and future were happening all at once.
Just two stories but it makes you think….. maybe all of these things are right. Maybe there are parallel universes where these things exist – where aliens from planet x have us all in enslavement, where a group of rich lizard people rule the world. As they say “God’s house is full of many rooms.”
