Fame Seeker

How fitting

To see your name in print

Fame always eluded you

Now you are a household name

A life lived in vain

How very apt

To see you truly succeed

To have all those things

You chased and fought for daily

How bloody erie

What a shame

Your fame came too late

Posthumous recognition

Are you watching from some other place?

Is there a smile upon your ghostly face?

Let’s find out more about Gary.

1) Where is your home town?

I’m not sure I have one to be honest. I am originally from Hull and I am a rabid Hull City supporter but I have not lived there since 1978! The last 26-years I have lived in Houston and Dallas, TX and then Brno and Prague, Czech Republic. I constantly have itchy feet and so I could be moving again soon. I have never put down roots and I am sure I never will – until I do literally push up daisies.

2) Can you tell the readers why you wrote this book?

I am fascinated by the nature of reality and also very interested in the esoteric and magic. My…

Atomic Antics

A fork in the road

Tensions mounting

Worries echoed

Which way to go?

Seeking insights

Help me take a decision

Claim my birthright

Taking the low road

Sinking deep into darkness

Sluggish movements

Through the bitter blackness

A nightmare ride

Emergence into light

The warming encouragement

Of a hint of sunlight

Landing on my skin

Choices are irrelevant

The future ordained

Tomorrow is already ancient

Observed and now collapsed

The path I must take

Is ordained by the watcher

The decision I must make

Chosen by an actor

The Last Observer: A Magical Battle for realityThe Last Observer: A Magical Battle for reality by G. Michael Vasey

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Last Observer is a short novel written around the different schools of thought which revolve around the universe. Science versus magical manifestation.

Edward Bright has been collecting data on unsolved crimes relating to suspicious deaths of people with magical abilities. Edward is a magician himself and believes he’s found the next victim.

Stan lives alone and loves his books. He gets absorbed in reading and has a great imagination which at times he’s put to good use when he finds a situation that he’d like to change. Edward contacts Stan and persuades him that he is in danger from a group of people who want to make a different reality. He explains that because of Stan’s amazing imagination he is what is called “An Observer”.

In Houston, Texas, Alison has been…

Hexagrams

Six

Six and six

Six and six and six

Is this the number of the beast?

Six is followed by seven

Is this the number of heaven?

Who knows what these numbers

Really mean, if anything at all

Hexagram

Is it six or is it seven

Is it hell or is it heaven?

The symbol of completion

Hexagram is six but one more

A point of balance

Lets get right down to the core

Six is incomplete

But seven is really heaven

Why?

Because the cycle is complete

Six work days

And one to rest as a treat

Six planets to transmute

And one result

The six became seven

Seven is seventh heaven

Why is that?

Mystical hexagram

Follow that star

Mystical symbol

Shining afar

Find out about the Hexagram as a symbol – The Mystical Hexagram.

Welcome to the Czech Republic!

Isn’t it funny how some days stuff just happens?

Today, for the first time ever, the post woman actually rang my doorbell. She had a special delivery for me. Now, usually, she wouldn’t bother to check if I was in but lazily dump a little note in the box in the hallway telling me to get my fat backside down to the post office to collect it. Oh, and do that within 10 business days or we will return it to sender undelivered. That’s how it normally works anyway. Today, she smiled sweetly at me and said sign here please and give me ID (actually she said it in Czech of course so that’s not ACTUALLY what she said but more or less what she said). I took that little envelope and closed the door opening it as I walked across the living room.

What was it that got such special treatment?

Well, it wasn’t good as you already suspect reading this story right? It was a notification from a real estate company that they had sold my debt to another professional debt collection agency. Except I don’t owe any real estate company any money so what the hell was this?

Apparently, after talking to my lawyer who listened patiently and then started his very long explanation with the sarcastic remark “Welcome to the Czech Republic…” despite the fact I have lived here for 7-year, the real estate company had sold a non-existent debt. Yes. A few weeks ago, I had signed a contract to rent some land and purchase a shed on that land. I then discovered that the real estate company had mislead me and that in fact, the land could be taken by the City at any moment. Understandably, I told them forget it. You lied to me and I do not wish to follow through. Despite the fact that the ‘contract’ didn’t identify me, or the property and wouldn’t stand up in a court of law anywhere and also that it is not legal to charge a penalty for not going forward with the purchase based on such a contract, the real estate agent had decided to ‘charge me’ 14,000CZK as a penalty for reneging on the deal. Having decided that, they also decided not unsurprisingly, I would refuse to pay. So rather than actually bother me with a bill or notice that they felt I owed them money, they sold the debt.

Yes – you read that right.

They made up a debt and sold it without ever actually informing me. Nice.

So now my lawyer will write and tell the debt collection company there is no debt. Most likely, they will sell it on to someone else who will then write to me…… ad nauseam. He cited a client who had been writing letters to various companies trying to collect on such a non-existent debt for 8-years already….

Welcome to the Czech Republic!

Later, when my partner opened the mailbox and recovered the rest of the mail (that the smiling post woman DIDN’T give me!), I had a letter from the Czech Social Security office. You guessed it, they want to audit me…..

Welcome to the Czech Republic….

Young Love

Pictures drifting on the ether

Rising and falling

Deeper and deeper

Sensations remembered

Laughter echoed in my mind

Arms wrapped entwined

Her eyes sparkled like jewels

Reflecting the distant moon

Her touch was like water

Running and trickling

All over my skin

As we lay in a heated dune

Out of the cooling breeze

Hot breath as senses rose

Depth of feelings rising

Swirling, debilitating emotions

Young loves’ sacred prose

Together, forever in that moment

Never to be repeated again

The experience of another’s

Warmth and passion

Hermetically sealed in time

Yet, easily revisited in mind

Cherished, yet left behind

Immortal – yet dead already.

The Dream

Last night I was dreaming something though now I cannot recollect what it was. I know that it was a long and continuous dream and that I was in a remote and beautiful place. I was revisiting it with my partner and child. The place was familiar and yet not. I recall thinking it was the Island of Eigg but it was not – it was somewhere I have not been to in this reality. Anyway, I was walking down a rough lane between two flat fields of grass. My two companions were behind me a short distance.

Up ahead, I could see two figures one an adult female and the other a child. As I saw them, it began to darken and to snow and I was thinking that this was a tad strange. I continued to walk and with the light fading, the weather changing and the two figures motionless as silhouettes in the distance, I began to feel a rising sense of ill. The feeling changed from one of worry to fear as I got closer to the two figures. The first was an overweight peasant-type woman dressed simply in a shawl with her hair inched back severely into a bun. She did not smile and her skin was grimy. Her eyes seemed fixated on the distance behind me as if gazing miles and miles. The child was equally ragged and dirty and as I approach I noticed the child had black eyes. No white in those eyes – pure black. On seeing those eyes, the fear and dread within me reached a peak and I began to float. As I floated over the top of the two figures I was turning in the air and my gaze was on the child’s eyes. I was scared for myself but also for my companions who had lagged some distance behind me. At that moment, the child opened its mouth in a terrible scream and that mouth opened so wide it could swallow me. I woke up, trembling, sweating and shouted No, No, No.

It took me a good 30 minutes to rid myself of the feeling of doom, fear and indescribable horror of the dream.

Theology of Hate

I can’t help looking at what is going on in the name of religion around the world and wonder why as a species we never learn. I think perhaps that is expressed in these few lines penned today….and trust me, I have in mind all organized religions at one time or another or in some place or another….

The sky is falling

The end of the world is nigh

Follow me or you will die

Hell’s fires are waiting

And unless you follow me

You’ll surely burn eternally

What I want to know

Is what makes you my judge and jury?

A pious fanatical pervert

What I want to know

Is how you can be so incredibly arrogant?

So bloody intransigent

I see nothing in your actions

That reveals the loving truth

I hear nothing in your words

To back up your assertions

There is no heart in your hatred

No light revealed in your violence

No charity in your actions

As you in fight between factions

Of the one faith that you proclaim

All I observe is an all-consuming hatred

A need to destroy and subjugate

You do this in the name of a loving God

Please explain this dichotomy!

Please explain this theology

Of hatred, death and destruction

And how you think that this is the will

Of a loving God
