Okay

Four seasons

Seven days

Disputed reasons

Whatever she says

Years pass

Many cycles

Memories amass

Of deft survival

Still

I know you didn’t mean it

Until

The emotional deficit

Changed it all

Rearranged it all

Suddenly

We were sliding out of control

Glibly

You said it was just like parole

But you meant its over

You didn’t dare say

But it was truly over

Like the end of a darkened day

Done

Washed away

Gone

Okay

Lost forever

Until

We could never

Fill

The gap that was left

Soiled

Bereft

Of meaning

Celebrating

Endings

Eternal blackness

Death and decay

There is no other way

And nothing left to say

Okay

New Kindle Price

The Last Observer has a new and significantly reduced price on Kindle on all Amazon sites. I managed to talk the publisher into reducing the kindle price for the book and they have followed through.

The Lord of the Elements wants to change reality. He has enlisted the evil Zeltan to help him and together they will try to recruit Stanley, a man gifted with incredible imaginative capabilities to help them. Unless Edward and his friends can stop them. A tale of white and black magic, quantum physics and a plot that twists and turns….

Features a compelling foreword by Anthony Peake, author of Is There Life After Death? and many other best selling books.

Rumors of War

Inspired by a Facebook friend’s sarcastic post.

Ebola

Plane crashes

Israeli war

Russia may invade

We will make you very afraid

Climate change

Murder

Fracking too

There is nothing that you can do

Crucify

Christians die

Islamic terror

Middle Eastern war

Whatever scares you more?

Don’t stop to think

Don’t dare to breath

Worry and worry more

Be afraid, very afraid

Ending times

Prophecy

Revelation

Rumors of war

But we have seen this all before!

Controlling

Cajoling

No question

Doom times are coming

Why are you not running?

Fear

Keeps you mine

Fear

Keeps you in line

Me? I am unafraid

Laughing at how hard you try

What will be will be

But I will always be free

Because apparently you forgot

That actually

this is my reality

I Can’t?

Growing up my favorite expression was “I Can’t”. So I am told anyway. I do recall my father trying to explain to me that I should probably at least try before saying those words and my mother rolling her eyes as I paced up and down a room having a lack of confidence moment. Two particular instances spring to mind. The first was my ‘A’ levels. I won’t pass, I can’t pass was my mantra. I still have nightmares about “A” levels levels let me tell you! Actually, the results were very mixed but I scraped a place at college anyway because despite thinking I couldn’t – I did. One of my parents told me to do something like writing to all Universities asking to be accepted since my UCCA choices all rejected me based on those results. I did. I sat and I wrote to about 20 Geology programs across the country and was accepted at three! I chose Aston University. It was the farthest away I could get from Hull. The second instance was passing my driving test. I had been accepted into a PhD program at Strathclyde University (in conjunction with the British Geological Survey) but in order to do the fieldwork in Nova Scotia, I needed that license. It took me two attempts but I passed with a week to spare and I made it to Sydney Nova Scotia.

I can’t.

Two very small words but so negative.

I realize that I have changed a lot in the last 30-years especially when I hear myself say I can. You see, I realize that I very rarely say I can’t anymore. Those words take away your power. I can’t takes away your magic. By admitting defeat like that you are programming yourself to be a failure. You are really. You are telling yourself with conviction that you will fail when you say I can’t. Think how many times you say those two words. Has it become your mantra? I can’t, I can’t and trust me – YOU WON’T!

Perhaps it having kids myself, perhaps it is a function of being older and hopefully wiser or maybe it is because I read, study and try to make magic, but I try never to utter these two words. Instead, I believe I can and I will. In fact, I believe it so much it already is. This is how I have achieved everything that I have achieved. It’s how I built my own business, sold it and created a new business all over again. It’s how I moved to become CEO of a 2 billion Euro turnover power trader in Prague – because I knew I could do it. It’s how I gave up that job and joined with my friend and colleague Patrick to start a new business that is now thriving. It is how I write books, publish poetry, blog, create websites, give presentations 20 times a year, interview on the radio. It is why I thrive in almost everything that I do. Because I CAN.

Think how important that ‘apostrophe t’ is at the end of I can. Instead of victory we create defeat. In a word.

Words have power. We create with our words and imagination. In the beginning was the word and I am pretty sure it’s first words were not I Can’t.

Ripples

In the interview with Rob McConnell on X Zone radio, the concept of ripples came up several times to explain how we impact upon one another. It made me think of this post from Asetroth’s Domain I wrote a little while ago. Asteroth’s Domain is my blog that is more focused on magic – please do visit it.

In meditation, I often see ripples in a pool. They start at a point and move outwards as small waves. If the small wave meets an object, an interference pattern occurs.

Thoughts are like ripples. They start with a focus. Something triggers that focus but then, if we are able to, the thought expands like a ripple moving ever outwards into the world having who knows what impacts out there. Words, words are sounds and sounds are waves too so when we speak, ripples move out from ourselves and those words can impact – not just those who hear them – but everything those sound ripples touch. Who knows what interference patterns result from our thoughts and words.

Those wave forms or ripples that we all create oscillate all around. Perhaps the smallest thought or word starts a ripple that becomes a tidal wave of change.

ripples

Silence. We are often instructed to be silent. And, if you think about it, with good reason for if our thoughts and words create ripples through the substratum of reality then when we think or speak in anger – what effect does that have? Speech is a gift that we so often misuse and abuse. God help us if we could hear thoughts!

Think about it and contemplate what effect your ripples are having on reality?

Thanks to a student for raising this topic and providing me with an opportunity to gain these insights.

From Inner Journeys: Explorations of the Soul

“When you enter the pool, the surface is absolutely calm but your body movement causes ripples and activities on the surface. The more you thrash around the more the waves and ripples grow in intensity and knock you off track. The more you fight the more ripples and waves and the harder it gets. Go with the flow, align yourself with the will of the Creator and minimise the waves.

Diary Extract.”

Talk, Talk

Talk, talk

A talking head

It’s a constant stream

Incessant chatter

Talk, talk

Words in my head

Is anyone listening

Does it really matter?

Aren’t we all talking to ourselves?

A running commentary on our lives

Describing that reality

Emphasizing finality

Gibbering our thoughts aloud

Streaming podcasts in our head

Writing, filming or recording

The words we just said

Talk, talk

The walking dead

It’s a constant dream

That doesn’t matter

Talk, talk

Words that I have read

Is anyone listening?

Or am I really already dead?

X Zone Radio with Rob McConnell

So in the early hours of this morning – 2-3 am to be precise – I was a guest on Rob McConnell’s X Zone radio program. The show will air tonight at 10pm EST and be repeated for 24 hours. It will also be available across a wide variety of media outlets worldwide. I gave to say, I really enjoyed it and Mr. McConnell turned out to be a great host and interviewer who has invited me back on the show already. Here is the interview and also the X Zone website.

Prague and Magic

One might think the Czech Republic would be teeming with occultists, mystics, and magicians. After all, at one point in history it was the center of the Universe for alchemy and magic and even John Dee spent time here along with Edward Kelley. The Holy Roman Emperor, Rudolf II, was extremely interested in the occult and gathered many alchemists and occultists in Prague in the 16th Century. Apparently, however, Dee and Kelley didn’t impress the Emperor and instead found favor with a Bohemian Count instead.

Rudolf patronized natural philosophers including the astronomers Tycho Brahe and Johannes Kepler. He was also the earliest recorded owner of the mysterious Voynich manuscript. Rudolf even performed his own alchemical experiments in a private laboratory. According to Wikipedia, when Rudolf was a prince, Nostradamus prepared a horoscope which was dedicated to him as ‘Prince and King’. Rudolf gave Prague a mystical and magical reputation that persists to this day, with Alchemists’ Alley on the grounds of Prague Castle a popular tourist attraction.

Then, there is the Golem brought to life by the Rabbi of Prague, Judah Loew ben Bezalel to defend the Prague ghetto from anti semitic attacks. Wikipedia again has the story..

To protect the Jewish community, the rabbi constructed the Golem out of clay from the banks of the Vltava river, and brought it to life through rituals and Hebrew incantations. The Golem was called Josef and was known as Yossele. It was said that he could make himself invisible and summon spirits from the dead. The only care required of the Golem was that he can’t be alive on the day of Sabbath (Saturday). Rabbi Loew deactivated the Golem on Friday evenings by removing the shem before the Sabbath began, so as to let it rest on Sabbath. One Friday evening Rabbi Loew forgot to remove the shem, and feared that the Golem would desecrate the Sabbath. A different story tells of a golem that fell in love, and when rejected, became the violent monster seen in most accounts. Some versions have the golem eventually going on a murderous rampage.

The rabbi then managed to pull the shem from his mouth and immobilize him in front of the synagogue, whereupon the golem fell in pieces. The Golem’s body was stored in the attic genizah of the Old New Synagogue, where it would be restored to life again if needed. According to legend, the body of Rabbi Loew’s Golem still lies in the synagogue’s attic. Some versions of the tale state that the Golem was stolen from the genizah and entombed in a graveyard in Prague’s Žižkov district, where the Žižkov Television Tower now stands. A recent legend tells of a Nazi agent ascending to the synagogue attic during World War II and trying to stab the Golem, but he died instead. When the attic was renovated in 1883, no evidence of the Golem was found. A film crew who visited and filmed the attic in 1984 found no evidence either. The attic is not open to the general public.

Then there is the more recent master of magic Frantisek (Franz) Bardon who wrote several books on magic. He was born and lived in Opava close to the Polish border and worked as a stage magician in Germany and the region before WWII. Persecuted by the Nazis who, apparently were intent on using his magical skills to their advantage but he refused, he almost died in a concentration camp. Unfortunately, he was equally popular with the Communist regime after the war and did eventually die in Brno Castle prison.

Despite this rich occult history, I have found the Czech Republic to be sadly lacking in anything mystical or magical. Perhaps communism took its toll or perhaps I simply haven’t found it yet (I have lived here 7-years tho!), but compared to Britain, where in the right place at the right time, you can FEEL the magic, the Czech Republic seems rather rather lacking. Yes, there is lip service played for the tourists but anything truly and deeply esoteric seems to have long gone.

All Sixes and Sevens

Six strings

Strumming along

Six stars

In this song

Six days to work hard

And one to rest

Six metals to reduce

To the best

A sixth sense

Or six of the best

Perfection

Add one for

Completion

Six points to make

Six cakes to bake

Six maids a dancing

Around a point

Six gates to open

Six planets around

A golden Sun

This song is nearly done

Seventh heaven

Seven seals

Seven balanced

Gently heals

Six

Seven

On our way

To that place heaven

The Art of Dreaming

For a while this morning I was researching Carlos Castenada. I had read his first four or five books as a teen and was thinking perhaps it was time to refresh my memory as regards their content. Pretty soon, I was reading about the man and how most likely, he was a fraud who rather than sitting in a small room with Don Juan was reading books about the subject at the University Library. I felt a rising sense of disappointment too as I read how he had retreated to a mansion with three female followers who gave up everything to live with and follow him and how he treated his family. All the classic symptoms of ego, sex and cult. Very disappointing.

I read too a summary of the content of the books. Even though Castenada himself may have been suspect, mysterious and perhaps a fraud, for me anyhow the books do contain a synthesis of real wisdom and knowledge. Who knows how he really came by that knowledge and who knows what the truth about him really is perhaps instead what matters is what we make of his books. Castenada himself talked about how reality is described to us and we eventually accept reality as described. From the moment we are born, we are described things and eventually we take on this view of reality. He said that to begin to see one had to stop the world. When you stopped the world or as I understood it, questioned what really was around you, you would begin to learn to see another reality or realities. Though he may use terminology that is different to the words I may use, he is saying what I am coming to accept as well. Any form of occult training essentially has the same objective and that is to break down the reality you were taught and help you to observe your own version of it.

download

This in turn naturally leads me to the conclusion that in a way, we all create our own realities. It explains why for example, some people live conspiracy theories or see roadblocks and objections everywhere. They choose to. On the other hand, it can explain why people who can truly visualize success become successful. They create their reality. But before you can do that, you have to know yourself and be aware of what filters you have been given – how the world has been described to you. Hatred, racism, homophobia for examples, are all inherited filters – they are all a description of acceptable reality for a consensus or majority.

So while, Castenada may be a disappointment to me I feel his works are valid. They originated somewhere in his reality and they describe an alternate reality as well as providing a map for getting there. I shall re-read his books…….
