Announcement Soon!

It’s been almost three years since I gave up my desk job to pursue my art full-time. Proofreading is what’s eating up all my time now. I’ll be lucky if the finished product, at nearly 100,000 words, won’t have a typo, but, hey, I gotta try. Look for an announcement soon!

Newly Minted Retiree

Hey all,

If it’s every writer’s dream to be able to write full-time, then my dream has just come true. This past Friday, June 3, marked the day I retired from my desk job of over 17 years. I can now devote 2-3 hours a day to my passion, rather than rising at the crack of dawn to get a few words in before heading off to work. I can hardly believe it.

That said, it’s going to be quite a few months before I finish the novel I’m working on. I’ve been working on it for at least a couple years and it’s still nowhere near ready for prime time. I can’t say much about it now, except to say the story classifies more as women’s fiction than gay romance. I believe many of you will still end up liking it.

Smashwords Sale

Howdy all:

Hope you've been keeping warm and safe and socially distanced in these crazy times. I've been taking advantage of the time at home to make chocolate truffles, take online French lessons, write postcards to Democratic voters, and of course work on my latest book, which I'm really psyched about.

In the meantime "Best Man" is available for just $1.99 for this week only on Smashwords. Sale ends at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on March 13. Details below:

https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...

Take care! Wear a mask! You are all fabulous!

I’m On a Winning Streak

I find out whether I’ve won the Lambda Literary Award for best romance novel on June 1. (Check out the announcement on Oprah’s Magazine website here: https://www.oprahmag.com/entertainment/books/a31261320/lambda-literary-awards-finalists-2020/)

In the meantime, I just got word that “Best Man” was named a runner-up for a 2020 Next Generation Indie Book Award for LGBTQ literature. The official announcement for the Indies will come out at the end of this month, with a (virtual) celebration happening on Friday, June 26.
