Book Beat - By the Light of the Silvery Moon by Tricia Goyer

Amelia Gladstone is thrilled to board the Titanic, knowing her beloved cousin and a respectable suitor await her on the other side of the Atlantic. Always drawn to help those in need, Amelia is moved to give an extra ticket to a filthy man in rags. However, Quentin Walpole is not what he seems. Amelia finds herself in the middle of a love quadrangle with this prodigal son, his older brother, and her intended suitor. As the Titanic steams toward her fate, Amelia and Quentin explore their faith, their pasts, and their hearts.
Tricia Goyer is one of my favorite novelists, and this book delighted me. Goyer's storytelling and research shine, and the characters are truly engaging. Most importantly, this story truly touched and moved me. I highly recommend it.

Behind the Scenes at the Photo Shoot for With Every Letter

Today one of my Facebook friends (thank you, Ruth!) alerted me to a blog post about the photo shoot for the cover art. I was so impressed with the attention to every detail in the cover art - Mellie's 1/4 Filipino, 3/4 Anglo ethnicity, the hairstyle, period makeup, and the spot-on uniform. I also loved how the photo captured Mellie's shyness, but also her strength and determination.
So here's the story behind the cover shoot by the amazingly talented Brandon Hill Photos. Brandon Hill tells the story of all the hard work put in to get these details right - especially the extremely rare uniform. Please click on the link and see!
With Every Letter is now featured on my publisher's website at Revell Books, and is available for pre-order on ChristianBook.com, Amazon.com, and Barnes & Noble.
The Wings of the Nightingale series follows three World War II flight nurses as they find friendship, love, and peril in the skies and on the shores of the Mediterranean.
Here's the back cover copy for With Every Letter :
Lt. Mellie Blake is a nurse serving in the 802nd Medical Squadron, Air Evacuation, Transport. As part of a morale building program, she reluctantly enters into an anonymous correspondence with Lt. Tom MacGilliver, an officer in the 908th Engineer Aviation Battalion in North Africa. As their letters crisscross the Atlantic, Tom and Mellie develop a unique friendship despite not knowing the other's true identity. When both are transferred to Algeria, the two are poised to meet face to face for the first time. Will they overcome their fears and reveal who they are, or will their future be held hostage to their past? And can they learn to trust God and embrace the gift of love he offers them?
Combining excellent research and attention to detail with a flair for romance, Sarah Sundin brings to life the perilous challenges of WWII aviation, nursing, and true love.
