I could be so good for you
Hi
I could be so good for you…….
You can hear the tune now in your mind……. Right! How about you have a quick or even quirky sing!!!! (My singing is often totally quirky – as I haven’t got a clue as to whether I’m in tune – or not!!!!)
I could be so good for you………….
When Mike & I were working in Singapore, once a month we would go to the One Night Stand comedy club on Clark Quay. The sound system was fantastic.
The Club used to introduce the comedians with a wildly loud, wonderfully deafening:
Let Meeeeeee….eeeee Entertain You….oooooo……..
Robbie Williams in full swing.
Great stuff.
But, the Club had soon changed it’s ‘signature’ song to Dennis Waterman’s:
I could be so good for you…………..
(Go on, have a sing! I am!!!)
We never actually saw a Singaporean comedian! They were all Brits, or Auzzies, some American. The Comedy was I have to say mostly outstanding. Uplifting…..
So, what’s my point you may well be wondering?
Pattern Interruption, that’s my point!
(Oh, yeah, my other point is: I could be so good for you……. We are about to have a new website launched, I’m very excited, you’ll be warmly welcome, There’ll be lots of scrumptious, nourishing ‘cakes’ for you to ‘taste’ And in the meantime there’ll always be lots for you at www.sally-stubbs.com
Pattern Interruption, it is hugely valuable and it’s really fun
We need to do it for our self, that is interrupt our negative, debilitating patterns, for it to be sustaining. Rather than just have a fun night out.
Because when we’re suffering with an emotional-psychological problem, once we’ve left The Comedy Club, left the scene of the uplifting music, the jokes and laughter, we are, within a few hours or a day or two ‘pulled down’ yet again with the ever circling problem.
In the late 1980’s I attended a prestigious seminar in London, presented by David Grove on his Work.
At the questions time at the end of the seminar an eminent psychiatrist stood up and said:
“David, in the profession we haves text books upon text books on mental health. Do you, David, have a definition for mental un-wellness?”
David replied:
“Mental un-wellness is experiencing the same ‘damn thing’ cycling round and round over and over again in the mind.
Being mentally challenged is experiencing ‘one damn thing after another!”
Awesome.
David received a standing ovation from his prestigious audience.
Pattern Interruption, one of Dr Milton Erickson’s elegant strategies towards problem solving has the purpose of breaking into (Interrupting) and stopping or changing those same old, same old ‘damn things’ circling round and round as negative, untrue, debilitating, ‘unhinging’, self devaluing thoughts in our unconscious mind.
Next time I write to you we’ll have a thorough look at how to Work with Pattern Interruption for your self.
The thing about Pattern Interruption is the how to Work with it effectively to change those - same old, same old ‘damn things’ circling round and round as negative, untrue, debilitating, ‘unhinging’, self devaluing thoughts in our unconscious mind.
Thanks for listening
Thinking of you warmly
