About the AuthorIn case you didn't know, Amy isn't my real name. It's a pen name I use to publish books and novellas for teens that have a romantic theme. My real name is Cheyanne Young and I also publish YA books under that name, but they are usually in different genres and for older age groups.
I chose the name Amy Sparling when I independently published my first book, Deadbeat. I wasn't sure if I would keep the pen name at first--I wasn't even sure if I'd keep publishing. But I got incredibly lucky and found a group of young adults who loved my stories and kept asking for more. You guys seriously have made my writing hobby into the greatest part of my life. I will continue writing books under this name as well as publishing books of a different nature under my real name.

Who R U Really? Teaser Tour & Giveaway

Margo Kelly’s Debut Who R U Really? was Ripped from a Real Life Event
After her daughter narrowly survived a man she met in an online role-playing game, Kelly wrote a breathless young adult thriller with the hopes of helping others spot and unmask internet predators.
When a Nampa, Idaho, police detective said to Margo Kelly’s daughter, “It is your job to tell others—your real everyday friends that you go to school with—tell them what happened to you, so nothing like this can happen to them.” … she agreed.
“My daughter is my hero,” Kelly said, “for being willing to share her personal choices, conversations, and feelings in order to help others, regardless of the negative judgment she might receive as a result.” Additionally, Kelly realized if she wrote a novel about her daughter’s experience, they could help more people avoid the trappings of internet predators. Who R U Really? is primarily a work of fiction, but the essence of the plot is what happened when Kelly’s daughter was nearly abducted. Thefictional elements are based on what has happened to young women across the country on a too frequent basis.
“Inspired by her own daughter's terrifying story, Kelly has painted a realistic picture of how a smart girl can get caught up in something dangerous online,” said the School Library Journal. “Guaranteed to give readers goosebumps—particularly as events heat up toward the end. … A goodchoice for families to read together.”
According to the Fall Preview issue of Kirkus Reviews, “Thea’s mistakes, while frustrating to encounter, are frighteningly plausible, and the relationships among characters are well–fleshed out, especially between mother and daughter. Kelly’s first novel is a suspenseful page-turner with multiple suspects, a little bit of romance, and a strong but not overbearing message.”
About the Book:

When Thea discovers a new role-playing game online, she breaks her parents’ rules to play. And in the world of the game, Thea falls for an older boy named Kit whose smarts and savvy can’t defeat his near-suicidal despair. Soon, he’s texting her, asking her to meet him, and talking in vague ways about how they can be together forever. As much as she suspects that this is wrong, Thea is powerless to resist Kit’s allure, and hurtles toward the very fate her parents feared most. Who R U Really? will excite you and scare you, as Thea’s life spins out of control.

nonprofit society dedicated to giving homeless animals the medical care they need. For more information, visit their website at sddac.com/donations.asp. Today is the cover reveal of two novellas in StoryTime releasing on October 14, 2014: Tell Me My Name by Mary Fan and Slam by Tash McAdam. [image error] In Mary Fan’s second novella from Glass House Press, a teen girl wakes up in an icy cell, alone and frightened. She has no memory of who she is or how she came to be there. She does know that she must get out, at all costs. And that escape must start with remembering the simple things – her own name. Her place of origin. Her possible powers. When a group of dark magicians reveal themselves to be her captors, she finds herself in the clutches of those who will stop at nothing to uncover the secrets locked within her lost memories. With her life fading under their merciless spells, the need to escape becomes dire. But can she get out when she doesn’t even know who she is? Can she count on one unlikely ally for help? Or is it already too late for her, a girl without a name? Tell Me My Name introduces the main characters in Mary’s new fantasy series, Fated Stars, with the first book, Windborn, due in late 2015. Add it to your Goodreads TBR Pile : http://bit.ly/YKlnIG About Mary Fan Mary Fan is a hopeless dreamer, whose mind insists on spinning tales of “what if.” As a music major in college, she told those stories through compositions. Now she tells them through books—a habit she began as soon as she could pick up a pencil. Flynn Nightsider and the Edge of Evil follows a well-received debut novel, a space opera titled Artificial Absolutes (2013), and is the first in the Flynn Nightsider series. Mary would like to think that there are many other novels in her bag, and hopes to prove that to the world as well. Mary lives in New Jersey and has a B.A. from Princeton University. When she’s not scheming to create new worlds, she enjoys kickboxing, opera singing, and blogging about everything having to do with books. Website Facebook Twitter [image error] Telepaths, torture, mindwipes ... the Institute has it all, and they use each of their brainwashed children as weapons, the way they see fit. To control society, repress its people. To make certain that they stay in power, no matter the cost. Serena’s baby brother Damon is one of those children, and these days he’s so altered that he doesn’t even recognize her. When it comes to getting Damon away from those who kidnapped him, there's nothing Serena won't do. Even if she has to kill him to save him. First, though, she must prove to her father that she has what it takes to be a soldier against the insidious threat of the Institute. Her first mission has to be perfect. But with inaccurate intelligence, unexpected storms, and Gav Belias, people’s hero of the Watch, on the prowl, will she even survive? If she doesn't succeed, they'll never let her go after her brother. And that would be unthinkable, when it was her fault that he was taken in the first place. Slam is Tash McAdam’s first work with Glass House Press, and serves as a prequel to her series The Psionics, with the first book, Maelstrom, due in 2015. Add it to your Goodreads TBR Pile : http://bit.ly/1sLY9Qr About Tash McAdam Tash McAdam’s first writing experience (a collaborative effort) came at the age of eight, and included passing floppy discs back and forth with a best friend at swimming lessons. Tash is a teacher in real life, but dreams of being a full-time writer, and living a life of never-ending travel. A Writer's Thank You Notes
Lesa Howard
Thank you, "I'm sorry I was writing dialogue in my head," for continuing to do the job when using you as an excuse for ignoring my husband.
Thank you, Microsoft Word, for pointing out when I misspell vaccuumm but completely ignoring mall when I meant maul.
Thank you, e-books, for making it possible to share my book with more readers while pulling my hair out learning your endless choice of formats.
Thank you, blogs, for your SEO, trackbacks, and meta crap that give me a lovely migraine.
Thank you, social media, for never acknowledging my existence.
Thank you, television writers, movie directors, and actors in general, for your cool last names that roll with the credits, yet I can never remember a single one when trying to come up with a good character name.
Thank you, Goodreads, for reminding me that I don't read fast enough.
Thank you, Amazon, for putting my best review at the bottom of the list—where no one ever goes.
Thank you, best sellers list, for reminding me I have not yet arrived.
Finally, thank you, Jimmy Fallon, for another sarcastic way to express myself.
Phantom's Dance Excerpt: “You scared the crap out of me—again!” I wailed, and a low chuckle rumbled from behind the heavy, velvet drapes.
With my hand pressed to my overexerted lungs, I breathed deeply. “I see you’re still behind the curtain. But I suppose that’s where a stagehand would be, wouldn’t he? Behind the curtain?”
“Ouch. And here I thought you were a nice girl—not like the Academy snobs looking down their noses at the hired help.”
“Ah-ha! So you are a stagehand.”
“I never said that. What I said was you’re a snob.”
“I am not!”
He half laughed half snorted.
“What are you doing here?” I asked him.
“I came to see the ballet. Isn’t that why you’re here?”
“Of course, but that’s not what I meant. The ballet has been over for an hour. Why are you still here?”
“I might ask you the same thing.”
The pink flower chose that moment to fall from my hair and float to the stage floor.
“You were playing the ballerina, weren’t you?” He teased.
His voice had moved from where it started at my right to the curtains behind me.
“Don’t worry,” he said. “I’ll keep your secret.”
My face heated and I bent to recover the flower then stood to face his voice.
“You won’t tell Mr. Darby or the theater manager?”
“I said I wouldn’t tell.”
Spinning the flower between my fingers, I asked, “Why do you stay behind the curtain?”
“I don’t like the stage.”
“But you said you’re a dancer. What kind of dancer doesn’t like to be on the stage?”
“This kind.”
He’d been yanking my chain long enough. Two could play this game.
“So, are you handicapped or what?”
An unpleasant silence stretched between us and I realized I’d stumbled onto something.
“Oh, God, you are.”

Unrequited Tour

Summary from Goodreads:Seventeen-year-old Kat Hartland loathes Unrequited, the world's biggest boy band. Is she the only girl in Sydney who can't be bothered with perfect-looking Angus Marsden?
Give her 5 Seconds of Summer. Now.
Or maybe the seriously-hot med student who rescued her on a train—and who could be Douglas Booth's twin! Perfect formal partner, much?
But when Kat comes face to face with Angus Marsden himself, things start to get complicated. Very. Throw in a deranged female popstar, final exams, a part in the musical and a mum who just doesn't get it—and where is her best friend?
When did life get so crazy? Kat's just an ordinary schoolgirl.
Isn't she?

Author Links: Excerpt Her attention drifts to the boy sitting opposite her on the train. In her anti-band flap, she hadn’t noticed him board. What an oversight! He’s on his phone and she shamelessly eavesdrops. He’s talking about his uni project while she takes mental note of his cheekbones and jawline—the type usually reserved for people like superman and Douglas Booth. On-trend reading glasses. Dark, floppy hair. A satchel full of textbooks gaping open on the seat beside him.
Hmm. At some point during his highly-technical phone conversation, which he is conducting in an incredibly warm, deep voice that Kat could listen to all day, she rouses the courage to smile at him. But he looks at her like she’s a thirteen-year-old Unrequited fan and glazes right over.
Great.
She wants to say ‘Hey, I’m seventeen and I hate them! This is absolutely a case of mistaken identity, trust me …’ But saying that might not come across as charmingly as it does in her imagination and he might end up thinking she’s more of a lunatic than he likely already does.
It’s a bad day when Angus Marsden and the boys, of all people, come between Kat and a potential date with a med student. (She’s decided that’s what he is, having stalkerishly scanned the titles on the textbooks spilling out of his bag and having seen enough of Grey’s Anatomy to put two and two together. And yes, ‘date’ may be getting ahead of herself a tad, but she’s particularly good at getting ahead of herself.)
WHY didn’t she do her hair?
Oh, hang on! He’s off the phone! Try to look casual. Look out the window. DO NOT MAKE EYE CONT— GAH! Too late!
Future Dr McDreamy fleetingly locks his dark brown eyes with hers. Her heart-rate explodes. Her entire life passes before her eyes …
Oh, wait! That’s what happens when you’re about to die, not when you’re falling in love. Get your emergencies right, Kat! Read the first three chapters of Unrequited here.
