An Interview with Berengaria Brown

I’m delighted to have Berengaria Brown here today, dishing the dirt on herself, her writing, and where she sees herself in five years’ time. Welcome, Berengaria!

bb-twm-ubhtm-fullTell us about yourself. Both your writing self and your non-writing self. What are your interests and hobbies? Do you have a day job, etc?

I love to read all different kinds of books, so I write across genres. Predominantly I write ménage, but I also write MM, FF, and MF stories. And yes, unfortunately the EDJ is a reality for me, as it is with so many authors.

Give us the background on your latest release.

I’ve published close to one hundred books now, and many of them include light BDSM. A little spanking or handcuffs for play. But this is my very first true BDSM book. It just seemed to be time to take that step forward, and Kingston is so very much the Dom the book instantly developed into lifestyle BDSM.

How did you get started with writing? And what was your route to publication like?

I spent quite a lot of time researching writing and markets before I began to submit my books. I submitted three different books to three different publishers and since all three were accepted I had three releases very close together. I’ve continued the pattern of having different genres with different publishers. More recently I’ve started indie publishing some of my books as well.

What are you currently working on?

The third book in this series has just been accepted and is scheduled for release in March.

Do you have a particular Muse for your writing? Do any of your characters bear startling resemblances to sexy celebrities or people you admire?

No and No. All I need is my laptop and some free time to write.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Both writing-wise and non-writing-wise?

On the New York Times best seller list of course! Writing full-time is the ultimate dream.

And now for some silly questions…

Muscled or skinny? Muscled always

Tall or short? Tall

Boxers or briefs? Commando!

Moustache or beard? Cleanshaven.

Long hair or shaven head? Long hair I can twine my fingers in.

Tattoos or piercings? Yum.

Intelligent or funny? Either. Both.

Blond, brunette or red head? Yes.

Hottest celebrity (tell us why, if you like)? Robert Downey Jr in Sherlock Holmes

Top same-sex crush (or opposite sex if you already like same-sex!) Toccara Jones

Most disliked celebrity (tell us why, if you like) Kim Kardashian

Favourite food Chocolate – the solution to every problem in life.

Favourite book (tell us why, if you like) Georgette Heyer’s Regency romances. She was my first taste of romance and I still love her books.

Favourite place in the world (tell us why, if you like) any beach

Anything else you’d like to add? I love summer and warm weather, and I hate cold, snow, and ice.

Now give us the blurb, an extract and buy links for your latest release.

bb-twm-nfhtm-full“Naked for Her Two Masters” (MFM) “The Wolf Masters” Book 1

They don’t believe she’s arrived by accident.

STORY EXCERPT

Fury raced through Kingston’s veins as he stared at the strange woman in his hot spring. Were the fucking gold diggers following him to the mountain now? Where the fucking hell had she come from? He couldn’t imagine a woman hiking up the mountain. It’d take days and she’d need a support crew with a tent and food and all her equipment. No, she must have had a helicopter bring her and the pilot had landed her at the wrong spring. For a moment he wondered how long she’d been lying there waiting for him to find her, then shrugged it off. Too bad. She was about to have a reality check. It was a good three miles over very rough rock back to the pack’s home. That should teach her not to act precipitously in the future.

He stood on an overhanging rock and roared at the interloper, “What the fucking hell are you doing in my hot spring?”

He felt a momentary flash of guilt when she startled so badly she sank beneath the water and came up coughing and splashing.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t realize this was private property.” He watched her scramble out of the water, keeping her back to him. Did she really think that acting all shy and hiding her nakedness when she’d come here deliberately to entice him would work? She couldn’t possibly be that stupid. Then he remembered some of the other women who’d pursued him. Yes, she could be that dumb. He watched her open her backpack and pull out a towel, rub her body briskly then climb into jeans, a T-shirt, and a sweater. The clothes looked well-worn. He’d expected her to wear something nicer, but perhaps she intended to keep up the innocent act.

He also noticed she dried her feet carefully—far more carefully than she’d dried any other part of her body—before putting on clean socks. That was the way genuine hikers behaved. Feet were the most important part of a hiker’s equipment and it made good sense to treat them properly. He watched her push the dirty clothes that had been left on the ground beside her boots into the backpack, and then shrug it over her shoulders. Like her clothing, the backpack was far from new. Likely she’d bought it secondhand or from a thrift store. She had a bedding roll pushed through the straps of the backpack.

She kept her back to him and walked up the hill at the side of the hot spring, heading west.

“Where are you going?” he asked.

“Back to the river. Or is that still on your land? May I stay at the river tonight please?”

“Why?” He couldn’t understand why she hadn’t asked to go to his home. What devious plan was in her brain?

“I don’t have any food left and if I set my net now I might catch a fish for breakfast.”

“Why don’t you want to come to my house?”

“You told me to get off your land.”

“No I didn’t. I asked you what you were doing in my pool. A question you haven’t answered.”

While they’d been talking he’d walked around the rim of the hot spring so he was still above her but much closer to her now. Her brown eyes were a little bit sunken in her face and she looked tired. The jeans she’d put in her backpack had been very dirty, as if she’d been wearing them for a while. He wondered if she really had climbed the mountain, or at least come quite a distance, and if she had run out of food or if that was just a ploy to get his sympathy. Some women were incredibly manipulative, especially when they hoped to catch a rich husband.

She turned to face him fully. “The short answer is soaking and resting. The long answer is I came to the mountains for peace and a break. I saw the steam rising from your pool and I thought it was going to be a volcano so I wanted to look at it.”

“There are no volcanoes in these mountains.”

“I didn’t know that. I didn’t know there were hot springs here either, though. Listen, is it all right if I stay by the river? I need to leave now to get there before dark and set my net.”

“Follow me to my house instead. I’ll feed you.” He was probably being naïve letting her come, but if she genuinely had no food he couldn’t leave her out on the mountain.

Why Write About Hot Teachers? by Wendi Zwaduk (@wendizwaduk)

I want to thank Lucy for having me over today. I’m a big fan of her work and love getting to hang out with her. This should be a blast.

My latest release, Drawn Together, features teachers. Now, someone asked me if I was uneasy writing about teachers. I asked them why would I be? “Because teachers can’t do anything bad.” I shrugged. Yes and no. Teachers are people, too. They want love and affection like everyone else. They just have to be a little more…tightlipped about how they go about finding a potential mate.

There are some teachers who have done things that aren’t cool. I won’t go into details, but those aren’t my teachers. Most teachers are great, selfless people who work to help their students succeed.  They are expected to behave in public and act like…well, teachers. That isn’t to say they don’t have moments where they aren’t the most upstanding. Everyone has those moments. But teachers are held to a higher standard.

Ruler

 (RULER Photo) Files by User:Priwo

So back to that question: why write about hot teachers? Tessa and Graig are normal human beings who want love. Plain and simple, they want to find that one person who makes them whole. Can they get mushy in front of students? Nope. Park next to each other in the same parking lot? Sure. They work in a high school—even if they didn’t share a hallway, EVERYONE in a secondary school talks.  Once Graig and Tessa started talking to me, I had to write their story.

Tessa is one of those people who has a true potential but hasn’t found it. She’s been knocked down a lot and is still getting her footing.  She teaches art and has a secret wild side. Graig? He’s an ex-jock who hasn’t quite shed his jock image. He’s lusted after the art teacher since he started at the school and won’t give up until she’s his.

I guess that’s why I wrote about hot teachers. I wanted these two people who might not normally find their way to each other to do just that—find love in each other’s arms.

Thanks to Lucy for having me. Here’s a little bit about Drawn Together:

Drawn TogetherDrawn Together

Wendi Zwaduk

Graig Case wants to teach history and coach baseball. Plain and simple. But nothing in his life has been simple. He’s also got a secret. He loves to watch the sexy woman across the courtyard dance. He’d love for his fantasy girl to be his best friend, but fantasy and reality don’t always mix.

Tessa Martin has given up on love. She’s played second fiddle most of her life. Guys like hanging out with her. But being one of the guys doesn’t keep her warm at night. Still, she indulges in her one treat—dancing naked at night for Graig. No emotions involved means no one gets hurt.

Except when they end up working in the same school, in the same hallway. Then all bets are off.

Inside Scoop: This lucky hero gets to take control when his new girl encourages him to spank her.

An Interview with Jennifer Kacey (@jenniferkacey)

I’m delighted to introduce Jennifer Kacey, a fellow Ellora’s Cave author. She’s here to tell us about herself, her writing and Channing Tatum.

A Very Menage ChristmasTell us about yourself. Both your writing self and your non-writing self. What are your interests and hobbies? Do you have a day job, etc?

Hi Lucy!!! Thanks for having me! Umm, okay let’s see….I do have a day job. My husband and I own a manufacturing plant. We make security cameras. Keeps us very busy but I love what we do and our employees, each and every one of them are amazing and part of our family!! We have a 10 yr old son going on 40 and live on a 5.5 acre plot of land in TX which is beautiful and open. As for writing, I tend to write BDSM stories hopefully hot enough to melt your eyebrows and that of anyone else sitting close to you. I like my stories intense and a bit dirty. Plus, writing keeps me out of trouble…mostly. *grins* I love crocheting and I sing in the church choir, read when I have time, which was like three years ago I think, oh and sleep. Mmmmm, blessed sleep, I consider that a hobby now since I have to schedule it along with everything else. I love every tiny piece of my life and am intensely thankful I am so blessed with things to occupy my day.

Give us the background on your latest release.

My latest release is A Very Ménage Christmas. My first editor at EC asked if I wanted to write a Christmas story, and I thought about it seriously, for about, ummm, three seconds? Maybe four. I LOVE CHRISTMAS! It’s a magical time of year, full of possibilities and magic and wonder, and I couldn’t help but want to write something to encompass all of that, plus my own bit of naughty to make the season extra bright! The characters in this book would not shut up. They needed to get together and they wanted it now. I decided to oblige them and worked it into my writing schedule. Skye and Jackson will be getting another big book later in the series, but I think they needed a bit of a…release…of holiday tension. Nick was more than happy to help spread a bit of Christmas cheer and gets his own book, Jenna’s Consent which is #4 in the series. I’ve got a LOT to write!!!

How did you get started with writing? And what was your route to publication like?

I had a dream back in…2008 I think it was. It was a VERY intense dream, a woman running down the hallway of a hospital in the administration section. A man pursued her but not in a violent manner, he followed her to apologize. She’d walked in on a meeting with he and one of his other employees. He shrugged off the relationship they had, saying she was nothing to him. Another member of his staff and nothing else. She was crushed, heartbroken when he denied her. The next night I had another dream. Same scene but a continuation of it from the night before. And the next night it continued, until the fourth night…nothing. Just…nothing. I panicked. I HAD TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED! So, I sat down at my laptop and wrote down the dream, filled in blanks here, figured out how they met there. It took me 3 months and 105,000 words, but now in Final Promise, I know what happens. ***GRINS***

What are you currently working on?

Okay I’m currently working on…hold on let me count…

Edits for Haleigh’s Ink, with edits for Orgasm University hot on her tail. I’m writing Laila’s Lies, a quickie I’ll be adding into the Members Only series. I’m also working on Kneel, a novella for the same series, Jenna’s Consent, same series and I just turned in Nico’s Curse. That one’s a stand-alone short novel where the hero seriously pissed off a witch and she had the means to make him pay for it.

Yeah, so between 5-7 books are in the process normally all the time. I really have a lot to say if you couldn’t tell already. I LOVE WRITING!!!

Do you have a particular Muse for your writing? Do any of your characters bear startling resemblances to sexy celebrities or people you admire?

A particular Muse, huh, not that I know of. I don’t have a celebrity that I’m crushed out over. They’re people just like you and me so I tend to draw inspiration from people I actually know. Scenes I get to witness in the BDSM world and honestly just everyday things. I have notebooks with me all the time so anything that pops into my head I write down IMMEDIATELY so it’s not lost. Like last night…we were sitting at the table eating dinner at a seafood restaurant and this quote flashed into my head. I grabbed the notepad from my purse and wrote, “She froze. Unable to speak, completely and utterly gagged by nothing more than circumstance.” Where did it come from? Who the hell knows. What book is it for? No idea yet, but I’ll find somewhere that it fits perfectly. And then when I go back and read it, I’ll remember where I was when I wrote it. It makes my books very personal for me. The freedom to do that, to write what I do, is amazing.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Both writing-wise and non-writing-wise?

Writing wise I hope to be on the best seller lists consistently with each new book. I hope to be going to more conferences to learn and teach. I would love to be writing full time by then, but I love my “REAL” job so much I can’t imagine ever getting to the point I want to leave. I hope to have a multi-book deal with one of the five traditional NY publishers, and **cross my fingers** I hope the first contract will come sometime this year. Non-writing wise I hope to be exactly where I’m at right now, except in a new house which we’re designing as we speak. SQUEEEEEE!

And now for some silly questions…

Muscled or skinny? – muscled all the way

Tall or short? – tall

Boxers or briefs? – no thank you *curtsy*

Moustache or beard? – Mmm…today I’m going to say beard

Long hair or shaven head? – bald

Tattoos or piercings? – yes PLEASE!

Intelligent or funny? – intelligent

Blond, brunette or red head? – blond

Hottest celebrity (tell us why, if you like)? –Channing  Tatum cause he’s hot and that half smile he has **swoons**

Top same-sex crush (or opposite sex if you already like same-sex!) – Her name is **redacted to protect the guilt** she is seriously yummy!

Most disliked celebrity (tell us why, if you like) – no clue, I have no time for anything but family, work and writing

Favourite food – ice cream

Favourite book (tell us why, if you like) – it made my brain hurt to pick just one so I’m going to pick a category instead. BDSM Erotic books. I read what I write like I am what I eat. Wonder if I taste like mint chocolate chip ice cream?

Favourite place in the world (tell us why, if you like) – On the beach in FL. Anywhere on the East coast really. The water is so blue and crystal clear, and the sound of it sinks inside my soul and stays for a while. It’s sunny and warm even when it’s cold and it makes me feel happy and recharged and thankful to be alive. DAMMIT!! Now I need to go to the beach.

Anything else you’d like to add? – THANK YOU FOR READING ALL OF THIS!! Seriously, you are a dedicated rock star with sticktoitivness and great taste!

Now give us the blurb, an extract and buy links for your latest release.

Get this Martian Out of My Pants! by Eva Lefoy (@eva_lefoy)

My latest Science Fiction romance book, The Trouble With Memories is out now from Decadent Publishing. The book was recently featured on The Galaxy Express, and Heather’s comment about the epilogue was spot-on:

The Trouble With Memories*The series is called Martian Mating, but that wasn’t the central focus of this story (your mileage may vary). Based on the excerpt I read of book 2, though, seems like there’s some breeding/Mars Needs Women action ahead.

Yep! She’s absolutely right! Mars does need women and for an extinct race, these Martians are rather horny! Here’s how the epilogue starts, with the Martian T’Pron insinuating himself into Captain Fenniks’ mind:

Fennik sat on his bunk every limb dead tired, but more on edge than ever. His head fragging ached. He pressed his forehead with both hands and rubbed it, wishing the action would help him forget the past forty-eight hours. Instead he only felt worse, more alone, more worried.

After the inquest, he’d watched the other pilots carefully, but none of them appeared to be suffering from the same problem as him. Even after they’d removed his implant he could still hear him…. He didn’t know what to do. If he told them, they’d lock him up for sure. Treat him like Cal or worse, Lucy.

Don’t worry, Fennik. I won’t let them harm you.

T’Pron? No! Go away, please. God, please go away. You–you can’t be here. I don’t even have the chip anymore.

I am part of you now, Fennik.

He took a deep breath to still his nerves. No, he couldn’t be. They’d taken his implant out. They’d removed the bio-connection he’d had with his ship. The ships were grounded, offline. What the hell was going on? He should no more be able to hear him than hear Farsele in his office.

I told you, I’m a part of you now. And it’s time to implement Plan B.

Plan B? Look, T’Pron, there’s no more mission. There’s no Plan B. Please. Go and leave me alone.

He closed his eyes and flopped back on the bed. He wanted, needed this day to be over. Maybe this…abnormality would lessen with time. With some rest. Yes. He relaxed, letting sleep take him as far away from reality as possible.

He awoke with the hugest hard-on of his life trying to rip a hole in his uniform on its way to freedom. The overfilled thing throbbed in his pants. If he didn’t get his dick out of there right now he’d scream. He unzipped the uniform and the cock that sprang out shocked him. Fragg! What the hell?

Pulsing and light green instead of its normal bland skin tone; precum drizzled from the slit, running down the side of his head. His hips lifted of their own accord, as though desperate to penetrate something, even empty air. While his legs remained trapped in the uniform, he reached down and pulled the too-tight fabric away from his swollen, aching balls. Just the brush of his hand near the base of his cock sent contractions up his shaft. He nearly came.

And after Fennik discovers exactly what his new Martian-enhanced cock can do, here’s how it ends:

Plan B. Find female. Impregnate. Hurry.

No. Please. I can’t. He shuddered with shock and resignation. He knew without a shred of doubt T’Pron’s Plan B involved getting every female on Vault 9 pregnant with his now Martian seed. And T’Pron wouldn’t rest until he’d done his bidding. He had no way out.

In The Trouble With Memories, the Martian character’s Plan A was to destroy the Mars base and end the Mars Mission program. When that failed, more drastic measures were needed! And what’s more drastic than a Martian impregnation plan?

Which begs the question, do Martians bring flowers and candy first?

The answer is …um…no.

To learn more about this Martian infestation, see the links below.

Happy reading!

Sunday Snog – Stately Pleasures

Sunday Snog

Stately PleasuresIt’s time for another Sunday Snog, and another delicious kissing excerpt from Stately Pleasures. It’s not just kissing, though, be warned. There’s threesome action going on! Enjoy :D

Alice had been so engrossed in fucking – or, more accurately, being fucked by – Jeremy for the first time that she’d almost forgotten about Ethan. Suddenly her peripheral vision picked him up as he moved to one side of the ladder, watching her face as she was screwed by his best friend. Then he leant through the gap between the handrail and the steps and kissed her, hard. He possessed her mouth thoroughly, forcing his tongue between her lips and seeking hers. She didn’t think she could possibly be any more turned on, but having Ethan take her mouth that way while Jeremy was fucking her pussy and stroking her clit made her feel supremely desirable. And powerful. The result was a fresh jolt of arousal that buzzed through her body, before centring on her clit. Jeremy groaned as her muscles clamped around him once more.

Had her mouth not been occupied, Alice would have apologised. But the tiny part of her brain which was still able to function reached the decision that it was a ridiculous thing to do in the situation. After all, what man wouldn’t want a tight, clenching pussy wrapped around his cock? Certainly not the two she was currently playing with, she decided.

Then, as though they’d communicated somehow, Ethan deepened their kiss and Jeremy increased the speed at which he stimulated her clit and pounded into her, both at the same time. Alice took it in her stride – kissing Ethan back just as passionately, and rutting back onto Jeremy’s eager prick. Then all she could think about was the pleasure she was feeling. She could hardly discern where – or who – it was coming from, but all she knew for sure was that with a few more strokes of Jeremy’s fingers, she would be undone. Tensing her inner muscles repeatedly, Alice decided she was going to try her hardest to take him with her.

You can get your hands on Stately Pleasures here.

Also, don’t forget to head back to Blissekiss and see what other luscious lip to lip action other authors have posted. Yum!***

My Sexy Saturday #15 – #MySexySaturday

My Sexy Saturday

Welcome back to My Sexy Saturday. This is where writers post either 7 words, 7 sentences or 7 paragraphs from their published work or work in progress, sticking to the week’s theme. This week’s theme is getting sexy back. Enjoy this snippet from my just-released M/F/M erotic romance novel, Stately Pleasures.

The fact she’d been celibate for heaven knew how long, combined with her not inconsiderable attraction to Ethan and his obvious skills in the bedroom – well, kitchen – department meant her orgasm approached quickly. Digging her fingernails into his buttocks in the dizzy heights of lust, she yelped as he increased the speed and depth of his thrusts. She hadn’t thought it was possible, and half-wondered if the room would soon be filled with the scent of burning rubber. A laugh bubbled from her lips.

‘Something funny, Alice?’

He looked serious, so she shook her head rapidly, then rested it in the crook between his neck and shoulder, and hung on for dear life as he screwed her. As her climax grew closer, she had to resist the temptation to sink her teeth into his shoulder. He was a big, tough guy and she was sure he could take it, but she didn’t know him well enough for that yet. It might put him off his stride, and she definitely didn’t want that.

Ethan’s breathing became increasingly laboured, which made her think perhaps he was getting close to coming himself. There was no way she wanted him to finish before she did, so she slipped a hand from his arse cheek down between her legs and sought her clit. It didn’t take much finding. It was so engorged that it stood out from her body like a tiny marble, and when she touched it she let out a little yelp because it was so sensitive. She was closer than she thought.

Tilting her head back a little so her lips were close to Ethan’s ear, she whispered ‘I’m going to come soon. My clit feels like it’s going to explode.’

‘Fuck,’ he said, ‘that’s horny. But I’m glad you told me because I’m getting there too. I normally last much longer, but there’s just something about you …’

Alice gave a wry laugh. ‘That’s what they all say. Now –’

A Terrible Day… But It’s Not All Bad!

Hi everyone,

Just a quick post, as I’m snowed under here. My computer died this morning, and anyone that knows me, knows how inconvenient that was. Cutting a long story short, I have my laptop hooked up to a small flat screen TV at the moment, which is not ideal, but better than nothing. The text is awfully blurry due to the resolution, so please excuse any typos. Anyway, that’s the terrible part. Hopefully my Precious (yes, I’m like Gollum when it comes to my technology) will be fixed on Monday – fingers crossed!

Now onto the good part, woohoo! I had three releases today, and one tomorrow :D Here’s the skinny:

An Interview with Suz deMello

Suz deMelloI’m delighted to welcome Suz deMello to my site today, where’s she dishing the dirt on herself and her latest release, Queen’s Quest, just released with Ellora’s Cave. Welcome, Suz!

Tell us about yourself. Both your writing self and your non-writing self. What are your interests and hobbies? Do you have a day job, etc?

When I separated from my ex-husband, I made up my mind that I wanted an interesting life. Since 2006, I’ve visited ten countries outside the USA and lived in a couple, most notably Thailand and China, where I taught English to toddlers for nearly a year.

I currently live in northern California with my mother, who is 83, and watch out for her.  Hot yoga and travel are my favorite hobbies. I’m currently working on several different projects, most notably another “Highland Vampires” novel, and planning another trip to Europe in the autumn.

Give us the background on your latest release.

Queen’s Quest was inspired by a sci-fi show I watched long ago about a planet that didn’t spin, but eternally presented the same face to its sun. It was intriguing but the plot didn’t match the interesting concept. But the idea stayed on my mind for a decade. I made a point of forgetting almost everything about the show so my story would be completely different.

Oddly, I started writing a book about this unearthly, futuristic world when I was living in Thailand, and no setting in the novel resembles Chiang Mai, where I lived.

How did you get started with writing? And what was your route to publication like?

Looking back on my journey, the road to the publication of my first book wasn’t all that difficult—though it seemed hard at the time.

I started writing my first manuscript after taking classes on writing, where I learned that romance novels comprise an enormous part of the fiction market. I decided I could do that also, and did. At the time I was working as a trial attorney, a fairly difficult and stressful life. I was eager to find an alternative.

After I’d written four complete manuscripts, I focused on selling one. That occurred in the middle of 1999—fairly soon after I’d started writing in November 1996. I sold a historical romance to Zebra/Kensington, which sold well and won an award for the best historical romance of its year.

What are you currently working on?

I have a number of pending projects. Two are revisions of earlier works to make them better, more complete and sexier. Another project is a writing treatise on story and plot. And I’m planning my next book in the “Highland Vampires” series.

Do you have a particular Muse for your writing? Do any of your characters bear startling resemblances to sexy celebrities or people you admire?

For my last book, I hung photos of Ralph Fiennes as Heathcliff around my writing space. This time around, my hero more closely resembles Jeremy Brett as Sherlock Holmes, and I’ve created a collage featuring him, a suitable heroine and a couple of photos of the setting. I also create a playlist for most of the books I write, and that also helps me get into my writing space.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Both writing-wise and non-writing-wise?

(smiling) That’s pretty hard to predict. A lot depends upon what goes on with my family. Most likely I will be here in northern California doing what I do—having a great life.

And now for some silly questions…

Muscled or skinny? I’m tall and slender. I like men who are long, lean and strong.

Tall or short? Tall.

Boxers or briefs? Commando

Moustache or beard? Both, either or neither

Long hair or shaven head? I love long hair but shaven is okay as long as the face, the eyes, the smile are there.

Tattoos or piercings? Not particularly.

Intelligent or funny? Both, I hope.

Blond, brunette or red head? I’m a bottle blonde :)

Hottest celebrity (tell us why, if you like)?  Only one?

Top same-sex crush (or opposite sex if you already like same-sex!) Wow, that’s a hard one. I’m not often attracted to women, and if I am, she’s someone I know.

Most disliked celebrity (tell us why, if you like) Miley Cyrus. Slutty and creepy. People like her give kink and sex a bad reputation.

Favourite food Only one?

Favourite book (tell us why, if you like) Only one?

Favourite place in the world (tell us why, if you like) Probably London or Venice, and why should be evident.

Now give us the blurb, an extract and buy links for your latest release.

Blurb: Queen’s Quest

Janus is a planet which lacks both tilt and spin, and its Shadowlands are the pewter band of dusk dividing the violently hot Lightside of the planet from its Darkside, imprisoned by eternal night. Because of the peculiar conformation of the planet, birthrates are low and indiscriminate mating encouraged.

Audryn, Queen of Shadow has reached that time in her life when she must choose a King to rule with her or fail to bear an heir, casting not only her realm but all of Janus into chaos.

Despite her duty, she is reluctant to share power, even a bit distrustful. Janus’ nobles vie for Audryn’s hand. Although she enjoys trysting with all her suitors, none seize her heart.

Then Storne, the warrior Prince of Darkness, arrives to claim her as his bride.

Will his masterful ways allure or repel the willful Queen?

Queen's QuestExtract:

Excerpt from Chapter Five, Queen’s Quest

I sent a message to Storne, the Prince of Darkness, requesting that he attend me toward the end of my toilette, and told Maia to prepare me with especial care for that evening’s dinner. I sent out all other servants so I could speak with her privately about him.

As I reclined on a golden velvet settee, she shaved me, a bolster beneath my hips and my legs wide so my pussy was accessible. With quick, deft strokes of the razor, she cleared the curls from both sides of my delta, then from my labia, so the area ‘round my clitoris was smooth. She then cleansed me with a damp cloth before massaging my sex flesh with lotion scented with soothing lavender and chamomile.

I raised my arms above my head, lifting my breasts so they crinkled in the cool air. Storne, I thought, and I tingled from head to toe. “What did you think of him?”

She did not ask me the subject of my question, but said, “I like him. He is direct and honest in his ways, and has the respect of his men.” She fluffed a powderpuff between my thighs.

I sighed, my pussy throbbing. “How large is his…entourage?”

“Large enough, I trow. The DarkDwellers make dwarves of us all.”

“I have a task for you.”

Maia set the shaving implements on the sideboard, then turned to regard me with her fullest attention. I sat up and took a hairbrush, handing it to her. As she brushed, I talked.

“I do not wish the leaders of Darkness and Light to ever be alone together.”

She paused, and the brush stilled. “I see your concern. If they join against Shadow, we would have no chance against their combined forces.”

“Yes. We would be squeezed like an orange in a press, the life-giving juices extracted and the dry husk left to rot.” Fear twisted deep in my belly.

The brushing resumed. “Kaldir strikes me as ignorant of statecraft.”

“I agree. He may not have thought of such a strategy, but Storne…”

“Yes. I, also, believe it must have occurred to the Prince of Darkness. Storne is far too canny a warrior to allow this opportunity to pass unheeded.”

“Or at least considered the possibilities. He has a reputation as a fine soldier.”

The brushing concluded, she tugged at a bellpull. “I will make certain that Darkness and Light do not merge. But you must also do your part.”

I smiled. “That will be my pleasure.”

Several of my ladies entered, opening wardrobes and bringing out gowns for my inspection. Others braided my hair and pinned it to the top of my head like a crown while others rimmed my eyes with charcoal, pinkened my lips with a rose tint. With unaccustomed nerves, I dithered over my choices, wondering which dress or what color would most entice Storne. I finally said, “The rose pink, the one trimmed with gold lace.” I felt overheated, and the gown was of thin, slick satin. Cooling, as in cooling my lust. I did not want to indulge in hasty actions with the Prince of Darkness.

I continued, “And high shoes. I do not wish to look like a dwarf.”

Maia emitted a sharp bark of laughter as she found pink stockings, which were fastened above my knees with ruffled garters of golden lace. She draped a pink chemise over my head, which was followed by a matching corset, laced tightly to show my narrow waist and lift my breasts. I slid my feet into the heeled slippers, and as the satin gown was tossed over my head, I heard a door open, followed by the clatter of boots.

“Lord Storne.” Maia’s tone was respectful.

I shook my head free of the enveloping folds of lace and satin as she tugged the gown into place. “Good evening,” I said.

“Audryn.” Without being bidden, he approached. He reached for me, then stopped. “May I?”

“Y-yes.” I did not know what he intended, but…

His smile transformed his angular face. He wrapped a big hand behind my neck. His grasp was firm, warm, the skin of his palm a little rough, from swordplay or riding, I imagined. I tried to breathe through a tight, nervous throat.

He kissed me full on the lips, rather than a chaste buss on my cheek, which would have been proper. Though he did not intrude his tongue, the contact was warm, vital and vigorous, hinting at the pleasure we could share.

As he withdrew, his gaze met mine, the gray eyes demanding, gentle and amused. How he packed so many emotions into one glance was a mystery to me. I told myself I was imagining more in his look than actually was there.

I had become infatuated by the Prince of Darkness swiftly…far too swiftly. That was bad. I could not make decisions affecting the history and welfare of my realm based on a passing fancy.

Maia bustled around me, fastening golden earbobs onto my lobes, bracelets on my wrists. Another lady laced my gown up the back. I was grateful for their presence, for the respite that the mundane tasks afforded; I could collect myself, regain my lost poise.

When I was dressed, Storne said, “Let’s walk before dinner.”

“Certainly.” I donned long, pink satin gloves. Fingerless, they wouldn’t impede me when eating or touching. Again, anxiety cramped me to the guts, but I laid a hand onto his elbow.

He had bathed from top to toe. Most of his dark mane hung loose, but the thick locks at each side of his face were braided, leaving his features, angular but pleasing, exposed. Amber and musk from the EastMarch scented his hair. He wore fine garments subdued in color: deep blue shot and trimmed with silver. The hue complemented his coloring. Hose of the same rich tone limned brawny legs. He was aware of Shadowland fashion, for his codpiece was large and embroidered with thick silver thread. His velvet doublet bore a design with the sacred oak and fiery mountain, traditional symbols of Darkside nobility, nature-worshippers all.

His gray eyes continued expressive, holding intelligence and humor, and his mouth was unexpectedly sensual. A fantasy image of his lips caressing my pussy drifted across my mind.

He led me through the palace with a sure step, showing no uncertainty. Our respective retinues followed. Behind me, the train of my gown swept the slates, but as it didn’t have panniers or hoops, our bodies occasionally bumped as we walked. Each contact shot a scintillating trail of desire along my skin.

“Do you know your way? Where are we going?” I asked.

He cast me an amused glance. “I had a free hour to explore your castle. It is an admirable stronghold.”

He took me to the same terrace where I’d so joyously given my virginity on my Exhibition Day. When our servants attempted to follow, I said, “It’s all right. There are plenty of people below.”

True enough; down on the lawns, tearing apart the sod, a herd of magnificent taqqa milled and stamped, huge animals with shaggy ochre-colored pelts, massive humped shoulders and curved horns, themselves long, sharp weapons. Some of the beasts were mounted by armored warriors almost as big as Storne, while the rest were laden. Servants, both Shadowlanders and Darksiders, busily unloaded and stacked boxes, baskets, trunks, rugs and portmanteaux. That our people worked together amicably was not lost on me.

“For you,” Storne said.

I stared at him.

“Tribute.”

My eyes widened. “You owe me no tribute, and you cannot buy me.”

“No, but I see that I must woo you.” That smile again, so unexpected from such a solemn mien. “I am but a rough warrior, but I wish to be your rough warrior.”

Pleasure robbed me of speech. I was touched by his courtliness, so at odds with his earlier arrogance. And he was an astute judge of character. He had taken my measure immediately and adjusted his approach. He had also come prepared for any eventuality.

He took out a small pouch from a hidden pocket in his doublet. “My first gift to you.”

My face felt too small for my smile. “Thank you.” Excited, I reached for the red satin bag, hoping it contained jewelry. Darkside boasted a wealth of minerals and gems, and its artisans excelled in the craft of jewelry design.

He pulled it out of my reach. “Let me show you. Rumor tells me that women of the Shadowlands enjoy this kind of gift, and I will enjoy knowing that you wear it.” He tugged apart the drawstring at the pouch’s top and upended it above his cupped palm. A stream of molten gold spilled forth, resolving into a fine chain, nearly three feet long.

Puzzled, I took it out of his hand and held it up to examine it by the light of the torches lining the marble terrace. The chain had little scissor-like appendages at each end, each maybe the size of my thumbnail. The scissors had curved blades that weren’t sharp but were lined with tiny seed pearls, leaving a circular gap in the center perhaps the size of a baby pea. The ends were curlicued to wrap around each other.

I raised my brows at Storne.

“Allow me.” But he didn’t take the chain, instead reaching for my bodice.

I gasped and pulled away. “Sir, you presume too much.”

“Do I?” He paced the length of the terrace, then returned. “Audryn, there is only one sure test of our ability to rule together, and this mating is a radical step neither of us can take without some…experimentation. I know you approach your seventeenth starturn, and you have sworn to crown your king on that day.”

My jaw tightened. “Your spies are most effective.”

“Thus, time grows short. Please.” He reached for me again, and this time I did not resist. He was right; besides, I wanted him to touch me intimately. Though his hands were rough, he handled my breasts with tenderness, lifting them above the gown and away from the corset’s confinement, resting them atop my lace-trimmed neckline. Cool air washed my breasts, a delightful sensation. My nipples wrinkled. He passed a hand over the mounded flesh, traced one curved pink aureole’s edge. Need flared through me, and my pussy dampened anew.

He smiled. “I suppose that I will have to learn to enjoy the public sex that your customs demand. And I may as well begin…now.” He slid an arm around me and bent his head to kiss first one nipple and then the other, licking around the aureole, sucking to lengthen the tips until they were hard and distended.

He gripped my left one between his teeth and gave it a sharp little nip. I gasped, “Storne!”

“Did that hurt?”

“A little.”

He rubbed his lips over the tiny pain he’d caused, and the sting dissolved into a haze of pleasure. He took one of the scissorlike appendages and opened the clasp, then closed it around my swollen nipple.

The tiny pearls gripped the very tip of my breast, lighting a spark of need that zipped to my pussy. I rested my face against his chest, breathing deeply in a vain attempt to control my reaction. I felt heat in my cheeks and the softness of his velvet doublet, my pulsing clit…an array of dizzying sensations.

He dropped the chain, and the slight weight tugging on my nipple built my pussy’s spark into a fire. He lifted my right breast higher and pinched my nipple, kissed and licked the tip. When it also swelled, he fastened the other clip to it. The fire roared into a blaze, and I grabbed his shoulders, flinging back my head. He laid a trail of kisses across my bare chest, up to my throat, along my jawline before he reached my lips.

This time, he took my mouth with a commanding kiss, holding me so tightly that I could feel the embroidery on his doublet abrade my naked breasts. My captured nipples rubbed across velvet, scraped across silver thread. I tore my lips away from his and I cried out, heedless of the warriors and servants below. I cared for nothing but the man who held me in his arms, who had claimed me when he chained my breasts, took my mouth.

Beanies are Hot by Nancy Corrigan (@nancy_corrigan)

One of my favorite articles of clothing a guy could wear is a hat. Whether it’s a baseball cap, beanie or cowboy hat, the effect is the same. For me, there’s a sense of mystery surrounding a guy when his head is covered. My fingers always itch with the urge to pull his hat off and uncover what’s hidden. Will he have a short military cut? Or chin-length hair? Is it curly, straight or wavy? What about the color? Sometimes strands will peek out giving a hint. Still, I often wonder what hues will show up in the sunlight. The possibilities are endless and those wayward pieces of hair tease everyone who ends up doing a double-take when he walks by.

Playing with your guy’s hair can be a great foreplay too. Just the act of tugging off the material hiding his hair can be sensual. Hold him close and slowly inch the cap off or rip it away—either approach will work. I love running my fingers through hair and most guys love the intimate caress too. Hold his gaze, massage his scalp and you’ll have his entire focus. After that… Well, I’m sure you can figure out what to do then.

Devin, the hero in Beautiful Mistake, loves to have his hair petted, twisted or pulled. As long as his chosen mate touches him, he doesn’t care what she does to him.

So what do you think of his cover image? Are you dying to rip his beanie away?

Interview with Annabeth Albert (@annabethalbert)

I’m happy to introduce Annabeth Albert to my site for the first time. Find out more about her, her books and ponytailed hotties…

Move MeTell us about yourself. Both your writing self and your non-writing self. What are your interests and hobbies? Do you have a day job, etc?

My writing self writes both m/f and m/m erotic romance. I joke that I write “heart warming smut” as my stories are both sweet and just a little naughty. In the past I’ve written contemporary romance and young adult romance before finding a home on the spicy side of things.  I’m married with two young kids and I’m an adjunct professor. Does Twitter count as a hobby? I’m a frequent late-night tweeter. I’m a sports junkie and can’t wait for the winter Olympics to start. Oh and I’m a compulsive knitter—I hate just sitting without something to do.

Give us the background on your latest release.

When I saw that EC wanted more married stories, I immediately knew that I wanted to do one. The question of what happens AFTER a happy ending has always fascinated me, and I wanted to look at the hard work it takes to keep happily-ever-after going. I also knew that I wanted a story where the conflict didn’t center around cheating temptation. I wanted an average couple finding their way back from okay to fabulous.

How did you get started with writing? And what was your route to publication like?

I started writing my first book in 2003 while I was in graduate school. I finally finished that book in 2005, and while it didn’t sell, I discovered RWA and the awesome community of romance writers. I went onto to write another four books that still live under my bed. Then in 2012 I decided to see what would happen if I upped the spicy content in my writing. A few months later, I sold book #6 to Ellora’s Cave and book #7 to MLR press. My path to publication was lined with hundreds of rejection letters and close calls. Having five books not sell was really disheartening, and I was tempted to give up writing at several points. But I’m glad I kept on it.

What are you currently working on?

I have a full-length m/m erotic romance featuring a music reality show, a bad boy, and a kinky virgin hero that is currently on submission along with a m/m novella about a barista with a crush on one of his customers. Right now I’m working on a m/m friends-to-lovers story.

Do you have a particular Muse for your writing? Do any of your characters bear startling resemblances to sexy celebrities or people you admire?

My muse can be fickle so I beat her into submission by making myself do something related to my WIP every day. I use Pandora and copious amounts of coffee to coax her into cooperating. Sometimes a particular picture or celebrity may influence my brainstorming but most of the time I have an idea then go hunt down some images to help things along.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Both writing-wise and non-writing-wise?

I have young kids so I have trouble thinking that far ahead. Writing wise I want to get faster, more productive, and have a decent sized backlist in five years.

And now for some silly questions…

Muscled or skinny? Both? I am an equal opportunity appreciator of body types J

Tall or short? I love tall heroes, but I’ve also got a soft spot for height challenged heroes like Lorelei James’ Chasin’ Eight.

Boxers or briefs? Boxers.

Moustache or beard? Beard. If you’re going to go fuzzy, go bold!

Long hair or shaven head? Both! I’m married to a pony-tailed hottie, but I love bald-by-choice too.

Tattoos or piercings? Ink is sexier than steel to me!

Intelligent or funny? Both! A girl can dream!

Blond, brunette or red head? All three :) But I love a great ginger hero!

Hottest celebrity (tell us why, if you like)? Jamie on Mythbusters. A hot, commanding nerd who knows how to use explosives? Yes, please!

Top same-sex crush (or opposite sex if you already like same-sex!) Reese Witherspoon—I’ve loved her since Man in the Moon back in the 90s.

Most disliked celebrity (tell us why, if you like) Duck Dynasty

Favourite food—Mangoes!

Favourite book (tell us why, if you like) Just one? Really? Promises by Marie Sexton is very high on my list because it was the first m/m I read, and it opened up a whole new world for me.

Favourite place in the world (tell us why, if you like)—My bed because I see too little of it!

Anything else you’d like to add? I love making new friends on twitter @AnnabethAlbert and facebook! See my contact deets below!

“The last time I was covered in whipped cream, I wasn’t wearing quite so many clothes.” Jill snagged a stray red cup as she rounded up discarded plates and forks. A shout echoed from the living room followed by the sounds of electronic violence. “And I definitely didn’t have a house of teens.”

Bree made a strangled sound. “Jill á la mode?”

Jill glanced over at her friend, who’d collapsed onto one of the bar stools. Jill leaned back against the granite breakfast bar, surveying the damage wrought by a dozen eighth graders in under an hour. The kids had abandoned the open kitchen-great room space in favor of the video games in the living room—no matter what their architect had intended, there were no “formal” spaces in the house, only varying distributions of the kids’ stuff.

“What?” Jill’s cheeks heated. Maybe she had been far too long without adult conversation. “Don’t tell me you’ve never had fun with sundae toppings.”

“Oh, I have.” Bree’s smile of newlywed contentment made Jill grind her teeth.

Jealousy? A low ache bloomed in her gut. Oh yeah, she was jealous. But she couldn’t let that show. She straightened her smile and lightened her voice. “And probably a whole lot wilder in Barbados. You didn’t even get a honeymoon tan.”

“I just can’t picture…” Bree trailed off, cheeks pinkening. “Not that I picture you and Mark at all… I mean, I never thought of you guys as being… Oh crap. I’ll just shut up now.” She buried her face in her arms.

“What? We don’t seem like the wild monkey-sex types?” Not anymore, at least.

And when had that changed? She’d never been the type to kiss and brag in the carpool lineup, but she and Mark had good sex. And okay, maybe it wasn’t the wild, over-the-top, sweaty marathon of their twenties, but it was good. Except when it wasn’t anything at all. She grabbed a dishtowel and scrubbed at a nonexistent stain on the beige granite.

“We need wine.” Bree gestured to the bottle she’d brought, which sported a little bow and card—Mom needs a birthday present too! She grabbed two plastic cups from the stack of party things.

“What? Are we seventeen?” Jill snatched the cups away and returned them to the counter. Tonight she felt every minute of the five years separating their ages—her bones hurt and, unlike Bree, she didn’t have a sexy excuse. “I’ve got real glasses.” Somewhere.

She snared the footstool, then stretched to reach the top shelf. Somehow an assortment of plastic tumblers and thermoses had relegated her good crystal to the cheap seats behind a turkey platter. Thanksgiving. That was the last time we used the good dishes and served wine.

Feeling more boring by the second, she poured a generous amount of wine into two glasses.

“These are pretty.” Bree twirled her glass, looking at the lines of color snaking up the stem, glinting from deep inside the crystal.

“They were a wedding present from my dad.” Looking at the glasses, Jill could almost hear the rustle of satin and the smell of chrysanthemums and feel the weight of her father’s hand as he’d told her how proud her mother would have been. Other women always talked about how nervous they’d been on their wedding days. Not her. She’d never been more sure of anything in her life. “Fifteen years ago this year.”

Bree’s eyes narrowed, and Jill could see her friend doing the math in her head.

“Yeah,” Jill said. “Mallory was a bit of an early wedding present. Mark’s mother swears she was the biggest preemie she’s ever seen. Married in October, baby by Easter.”

“Cheers.” Bree raised her glass. “To the happiest couple I know.”

“Other than you and Jack.”

“Other than me and Jack.” Bree’s smug smile was back and so was Jill’s ache. “But really—you guys are totally my inspiration. Fifteen years. Three kids. And apparently you still know your way around a can of Reddi-whip.”

Not anytime lately. Jill took a healthy swallow of wine, the oaky  flavor making her throat tighten and her eyes sting. Or maybe that was from the effort of not confessing to Bree how wrong her assumption was. No, she’s not wrong. Mark and I are happy. We are.
