Lisa grew up on her family’s cattle ranch located on the Arizona/Mexico border. College, marriage and career took her to California and New Mexico, but the love of land and open space stayed with her. She returned to the ranch in the mid-1990s and lived there until it was sold to the Nature Conservancy in 1998. The ranch house is now The San Rafael State Park, part of the Arizona State Parks system.

Since the ranch’s sale, she has been a B&B owner, a solo traveler through Asia, Europe and South America, involved in the art community in Taos, a student of Hatha Yoga, and has started a fiction novel. She currently splits her time between Arizona and Taos, New Mexico.
