Welcome Inductees to the Morrigan's Brood Series

I (Christopher) would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to all of you who visited our booth at the North Texas Irish Festival in Dallas, Texas this weekend! Both Heather and I enjoyed speaking with all of you! NTIF has been our best event thus far, and we look forward to attending next year. For those new to we authors of the Morrigan's Brood Series, and those who have been following us for a while, I thought I would update you folks on a few things:

Triscelle Publishing Website

The website is out of date. Heather and I both know it, but we haven't convinced the powers that be (the publisher… Triscelle Publishing) to get it updated. Until it becomes current, here are a few things to consider:

Things to Consider

If you want an eBook, all three novels and the short stories are available in ePub format and for the Kindle. However, updated versions will eventually be released for Kindle Fire. Books 1 and 2 are generally $1.99, book 3 is generally $3.99, and Madness and Reckoning is $0.99, although if you get it from Goodreads, it is free.

Heather and I are both active on Facebook, and I sometimes frequent LinkedIn. Goodreads, Shelfari, and the Library Thing are good places to find book info, but I have been remiss in keeping that updated (bad Chris). If you want to buy our print books, they are available on-line from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and several other on-line booksellers; even internationally. Of course, if you would like to order directly from us (in order to get signed books), we can accept payment over the phone or via PayPal. Our preferred shipping method is the fixed-rate USPS Priority Mail, using the padded envelope. We would charge the cover price, appropriate sales tax for our location (9.25%) and shipping; we can send media mail if you want something cheaper, but it might take a while to get there.

We will be at other events in Texas… later this week, Heather or I will post an updated event schedule. If you do happen to buy our books on-line, we would be happy to sign them for free at events we will be attending.

If you picked up a chapter book from us, I hope you enjoyed it. If you don't wish to hold onto it, please free to pass it along. The chapter books are printed on the same paper and the same cover stock with the same inks as the big books. We felt this was the best way for you to get a good feel for the novels, as well as have a glimpse into the stories themselves.

Free Giveaway

In case you did not notice when you stopped by our booth, we are having a free giveway. That means you can enter to win without having to buy anything. If you did not fill out a ticket, please send an email to me at chris_dunbar@triscellepublishing.com and you will be entered in the giveaway. We will be announcing our three winners next Monday on this blog. We will also be hosting a free giveaway through Goodreads, so look out for that coming up.

Fellow Authors

We were happy to be able to carry novels of the Rowan of the Wood series written by Christine and Ethan Rose, as well as several books by O.M. Grey. If you purchased books from us written by the Roses or by Ms. Grey and you would like your books signed, please feel free to visit their blogs to see where they will be next. For Christine and Ethan's blogs, visit www.rowanofthewood.com, and for O.M. Grey, please visit omgrey@wordpress.com.

Thanks to our friends and fans!

Morrigan’s Brood Re-Release Now in eBook Format

Morrigan's Brood: Morrigan's Brood Book I

New Cover

Morrigan’s Brood: Morrigan’s Brood Book I Soon to be Released on Nook and Kindle

I (Christopher) must really like this graphic, because I have used it for the last three posts. Well, as we prepare ourselves to depart 2011 (those who have not already begun the new year… lucky), I realized there was one goal for 2011 that I had not yet accomplished. As you may recall, we recently re-released Morrigan’s Brood: Morrigan’s Brood Book I in print, but I had forgotten to do eBook versions. Well, today, this last day of 2011, I completed that goal. I just submitted Morrigan’s Brood r2 for Kindle and Nook platforms, although it may take up to two days for the eBooks to be on-sale. Still, I can brush my hands of this book stuff for a while… Who am I kidding… I have a novella to read, a re-release of Crone of War: Morrigan’s Brood Book II to revisit, and then I need to get Curse of Venus: Morrigan’s Brood Book IV ready for release. Uhhhh… no rest for the weary or the wicked.

Have a Happy New Year!

Free Giveaway and Morrigan’s Brood r2 On Sale

Morrigan's Brood: Morrigan's Brood Book I

New Cover

Morrigan’s Brood: Morrigan’s Brood Book I For Sale

Happy Boxing Day, and of course Merry Christmas, Happy Yule, and have a happy any number of other mid-winter holidays going on the world over, or just a happy day to those without such traditions. For this Boxing Day, and the aforementioned holidays, the authors of the Morrigan’s Brood Series (um… Heather and I… uh… Christopher) have coaxed our publisher into putting up five copies of the new second edition of Morrigan’s Brood: Morrigan’s Brood Book I, being officially released January 15, 2012. This second release, through Triscelle Publishing’s new printer and distributor, Lightning Source (LSI), presents an opportunity for our readers to purchase Morrigan’s Brood for a price lower than the original release. [Morrigan's Brood r1 sold for a retail price of $18.99 USD, whereas Morrigan's Brood r2 sells for a retail price of $15.99 USD]. The new release also includes new content, such as a map guide, a character guide, and more blood-drinker races, it has a new layout, and it received a bit of a brush-up.

Already, places like Amazon and Barnes & Noble are starting to carry the new release on their on-line catalogs. In fact, Barnes & Noble is carrying the new Morrigan’s Brood for $9.40 USD!!!!!! That’s [as advertised] 41% off the retail price of $15.99. Click here to check it out. Amazon is also carrying the new release, but it seems as though its content is not yet synched up. Click here to see the new release on Amazon for as low as $11.54 USD [though I wouldn't be surprised to see it under $10 USD from time to time].

If you would like an author-signed copy, you can order directly from the authors. We charge $15.99 plus sales tax [based on Harris County, Texas rate, which is 9.25%], and we also charge for shipping. Our preferred shipping is via USPS Priority Mail, which is $4.99 domestic and $14.99 for international, but if you don’t care when it gets there, media mail is generally $2.50 or so domestic; best to use Priority Mail for international.

Free Giveaway

However, if you want to try to get Morrigan’s Brood r2 for free, come have a go at the free giveaway on Goodreads! See below for details.

New Interview, New Edition, and New Events! It’s New, New, New, News!

Morrigan's Brood: Morrigan's Brood Book I

New Cover

Greetings friends, fans, followers, and friendly frequenters! I knew you were dying to hear new news from your friendly neighborhood authors of the Morrigan’s Brood Series. Well, we have been busy (my [Christopher] excuse for the vast stretch of time and space between now and when I wrote my last post), and I wanted to share three tidbits of news with you. In summary, re-release, interview, and events. That’s the news… thank you for reading!

Ah… and there is that |More tag. Fooled you… yes, I have more to tell you about our three little news items… and here they are:

First, the Re-Release

A few of you on Facebook have already gotten a taste of this news, but in case you missed it, Triscelle Publishing has re-released Morrigan’s Brood, the first novel of our series, through a new printer. The new release, intended to reduce costs and increase distribution, comes with a slightly updated cover, and updated map, new map description page, new character bios, updated blood-drinker information, and a new look. In addition, the co-author and I took time to give the text a bit of a rubdown. The new edition [9781937341008] should be available for ordering on-line within the next four to six weeks, while the prevision edition [9780615340425] will be phased out of publication at a later date.

Triscelle Publishing has set the retail price for the new edition at $15.99 USD, as compared to the previous edition retail price of $18.99. In addition, booksellers have been given a substantial sellers discount, so don’t be surprised to see the book on sale for $9.99 USD, or even as low as $8.99 USD, on sites like Amazon, B&N, and Books-a-Million.

In addition, Triscelle Publishing will also re-release Crone of War through the new printer, with similar changes and improvements. The new release should be available on or before June 1, 2012.

New Interview – Author M.R. Gott asks the Authors of the Morrigan’s Brood Series About Stuff

M.R. Gott, author of Where the Dead Fear to Tread (published September 6, 2011 by Untreed Reads), sent Heather and I a few questions for his blog, which we were happy to answer. In addition to our interview, M.R. has posted other interviews and information concerning the fantasy horror genre, as well as his book.

In addition to his Goodreads pages and his blog, you can find M.R. on Facebook and other social media sites (links are available on his blog). So, hop on over, have a glance at our interview, stick around for M.R.’s other fantasy horror content, and join up with him on social media. Enjoy!

Just a quick lil' post

We are having a contest in honor of the Salado Highland Games. Pics to follow soon I'm sure ;)

I'd chat about the wonderful awesome time we had in Salado with old friends and new friends, if I didn't have bronchitis and a mad desire for a hot toddie.

Anyways, the contest will select three winners on 11/21/11 (next monday). Each winner can pick a book of their choosing!!!

I hope everyone is doing well. Ophelia is glaring at me, so I assume it's gooshy food time.

Yours aye,

Heather – *cough*hack*cough*
