i'm hungry

It's not every day that I read a book about a super model. It's definitely not every day I blog about one. But then again,  Hungry: A Young Model's Story of Appetite, Ambition and the Ultimate Embrace of Curves, well, let's just say this is no size zero tale, shall we. come ye all to the brooklyn book festival!

It's September and that means one thing. Okay, two things. Time to get new boots. And the Brooklyn Book Festival.

I'm crazy excited this year because I've been asked to participate. Which is a huge honor for a Brooklyn Writer Girl. But is an especially huge honor for me because three years ago, before my first novel, Sisters in Sanity was due to come out, having been to the first evah Brooklyn Book Festival the year before and LOVING it, I'd asked my old publisher about participating. Alas...

baby steps

A couple of very exciting things happened in the last couple of days. Exciting by the relative terms of my life as a shut-in (ahem, stay-at-home mom) with two young ones. And if I have not pounded this point enough, I will pound it again: There is no job harder than fulltime momhood. It should pay in the six figures; it is that hard!
