Sexperiences in Writing!
I’m guessing the fabulous folks at Decadent do not want me disclosing my sexperiences, but I must mention them in brief as this draws readers and works on people’s natural curiosity about the sexual nature of erotic authors.
The fact is, the encounters an author has, make for a fuller experience in writing, provided the author has had numerous adventures. If not, the author is left living vicariously through pornography, erotica, other means. (Like me) Being the Bad Boy of Romance, this actually works in my favor, as it justifies my flirtation, my drinking and premium cigar smoking all while providing an illusion, an image of something readers expect.
I’ve been talking with other authors about the unspoken author/reader contract and how upon publication, if the author platform does not define the relationship, the experience a reader gets from an author’s book, then the reader defines it. This is not a bad thing, but it’s not the best for attracting the most attention for the group of readers your book is targeted to. If however, every blog post, every interaction, tweet, facebook status, and book all say the same thing, then the AUTHOR is defining that contract.
Just like I defined the contract here. Reading my books will give you an experience you’ll never forget. The reviews paint Menage Bound as a hot sexy read where the characters are lifelike and real, and the reviewers could imagine themselves in that world. And frankly, some of them WANT that fantasy. Maybe I’ve lived it. Maybe not.

In my world, my books tend to be about trust on a deeper level. And in my latest 1Night Stand, Menage Bound, Siddella must extend trust in the 1NS service that she can have a fantasy played out. Two hunky men, both dominant, both not fighting OVER her but instead, working well within the boundaries she sets. Jason and Chase must trust the same service, then extend said trust to Siddella for her acceptance that two men can have a healthy long term sexual relationship that involves pushing boundaries and growth.

Slowing down the author train

Cover for Menage Bound, a romantic bdsm tale of an impending threesome
Looks like after finishing up Saint in Sinner’s Eyes, I’m taking a break as an author. Sort of. What’s coming up is that I have those projects mentioned in an earlier blog post that need finishing, fixing what have you. I’m pretty excited to finally put out some new material and some old material that has actually been improved upon since original publication.
I just sent off what was originally titled “Iolite’s Ritual” to Sizzler Editions. I think the working title now is Torn to Pieces, though I can promise a new title upon the publisher reading and accepting it. The new version includes a third chapter that explores the relationship between Jackob and Kerian and their involvement with Iolite, something the reviewers wanted to see when the title came out years ago at another publisher.
Some good news came out the other day. Menage Bound has been doing well via the reviewers. No surprise there, but I am thrilled!
“Place a cigar smoking, Jack and Cola drinking corporate executive woman and two horny and hungry alpha males together and you have a ménage like no other.” – RomFanReviews
They really liked the story!
Sizzling Hot Books had THIS to say: “Each story is unique and Menage Bound is unlike any that I’ve read before. The characters demand notice and Mr. Illyvich’s writing draws you into the story, making you feel like you were there.”
Don’t you think you should pick up your copy of Menage Bound now?

The Next Big Thing – Blog Hop
1. What is the working title of your book?
Saint in Sinner’s Eyes
2. Where did the idea come from for the book?
This one’s easy, Burn Notice. I’ve wanted to write the prequel to Saint in Sinner’s Eyes for some time (about three years) but knew only a few things about it. When I was nearing the end of Burning for Derrick, I was jamming a Celldweller song (The Last Firstborn) on my way into SF for a con and Max kinda “smacked me” upside the head, demanding his story. I threw in the paranormal element and one night coming back from a conference in SF I was drinking and jamming Celldweller, trying to let my mind roam with possibility and when I heard Stay with me(Unlikely) and Unlikely(Stay with Me) I knew I had a heroine for Max. And a conflict.
3. What genre does your book fall under?
Paranormal erotic romance
4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
I haven’t the foggiest idea honestly!
5. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Can Max and Shayla find redemption in each other, while saving humanity from a terrible criminal organization?
6. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Sartiza Hernandez at Corvisiero Literary Agency will get this once it’s edited.
7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
The draft took about two months, I tend to do too many things at one time. I’d say start to finish, three months tops.
8. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Good question. None I’ve read so far. I can’t really call it a “spy romance” because it’s not entirely. I mostly read paranormal and am on a JR Ward kick right now but her books are way darker than this one is (at the moment)
9. Who or What inspired you to write this book?
Oddly enough, Max Myers of ACC Cigars, made an appearance as the hero’s brother in Burning for Derrick.
10. What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Hot romance, cigar smoking pumas, three letter agencies with conspiracies? Oh and the fact that the body count went higher than normal for a book from me?
In the meantime, check out Dark Sensualities and Primal Instincts, for more paranormal romance!

Can love unite two best friends that yearn for each other, even after years have passed?
Angela does have the blessed luck to have a best friend with a very handsome body and a kind heart. She’s managed to end up s ingle during the holidays and having Christian come up from Houston to cheer her up has made a huge difference in her life. Things were going fine until a little playfulness became arousal and they ended up making damn sure neither suffered a cold winter night together!
Christian has been incredibly blessed with his life. He’s been given the IT job of his dreams, has the income he needs to feel secure and has the support of his long time best friend, Angela. What more could he ask for? Well, turns out he asked for her in his bed, over and ov er again and he wound up getting it. But his work schedule interferes with their relationship and causes heartache on both sides. Will he be able to figure things out and convince her that he’s the one for her?
Excerpt -
Soft candlelight flickered in the darkness accompanied by the sounds of laughter. Angela’s bed had been covered in perfumed rose petals earlier, but some had stuck to Christian’s naked body. When he moved, some of petals fell from his body, and Angela laughed.
Blindfolded and bound, Christian stirred against his bonds. “Very cute.” He smirked.
Vanilla and jasmine added to the scent of arousal. Angela crawled over his body, watching his expression change from excitement to pure arousal as she let her breasts touch him.
“I can’t stand waiting,” Chris growled.
Angela nuzzled his neck and moved her tongue over the cleft of his ear. “Good boys get what they want only by being good.”
“What about naughty boys?”
“They get punished.” Her little dominatrix outfit suited her well. She looked in the mirror at herself. Dressed in a black skirt and matching top, with no panties, she felt sexy. She straddled Chris and slid her bottom over his chest and back towards his cock, rubbing his erection against her ass. He squirmed. She raked her nails lightly over his chest, bent down and kissed a nipple. Chris hissed when she nipped him.
“Easy, there.” Angela rubbed her slickness over him.
His cock twitched. She took him in her hand, squeezing his head lightly, and he groaned.
“You’re killing me,” he moaned.
“That’s the point. Now, the fun begins.”
She reached over to the nightstand and picked up the burning candle.
Chris couldn’t see much through the scarf covering his eyes, but when he yelped, Angela knew her action had the desired effect. His cock strained further against her ass.
“I’m dying to be inside you.”
Angela slid down his legs and drizzled wax over his chest and stomach, admiring the sight of him squirming beneath her. She was so aroused when she straddled his legs that his thighs were slick.
“You’re so wet,” he murmured. He tried to lift his hands from above his head to touch her, but remembered they were still bound. “You’re enjoying this too much.”
Angela laughed. She set down the candle. “I am. The tables are turned, Mr. Edwards. I’m in control now, and that means you’re not going anywhere.”
“Who said I’d want to?”
She sank his prick deep inside her and cried aloud when he was all the way inside. She undulated her hips and felt every inch of Chris’ cock fill her up. Leaning forward, she let her hair fall over his chest and continued to squeeze her vaginal muscles around his turgid member.
“You’re killing me,” he groaned. “Just a little more and I’ll be there.”
“I don’t want you to come yet. If you do, you’re spent, and I’m not ready to give that up yet.” The harshness in her voice was more from having to let him slip out.
“Oh darling,” he cried when she hovered herself just over the tip of his cock. “You don’t know how much I’m prepared to give you.”
Slowly, she lowered herself onto him, inch by painfully agonising inch until she had all of him inside her again. She smoothed her skirt over his thighs, making him squirm with little pinches as she trailed a fingernail over his skin through the cloth. Each time she removed him from her, he jerked his hips upwards to meet her, but she was just barely out of reach each time. Still, she felt the heat between their bodies as it threatened to consume them both.
She saw the frustrated look on Chris’ face and grinned.
“You’re incorrigible,” he said.
“And you’re adorable. Maybe this’ll make you remember to come see me…” She trailed off as the first of many climaxes washed over her. She quivered, squeezed her legs tightly around his waist and came, impaled upon his cock, pausing only long enough to let him calm down for a second round. She fell over his chest, her breasts crushed between their bodies, and looked at him. The evidence of his arousal was still apparent on his face.
“I’m far from finished with you.”
“Good, because I’ve not had my fill.” Chris tried to assert his dominance but had trouble, since he was still bound to the bed.
Angela removed the blindfold and looked at him, his eyes opened wide to adjust to the light. His face looked softer in the warm glow of candlelight. She touched his chin, trailing a fingernail over his jaw and down his neck.
“You’re beautiful.” He licked his lips.
Angela moved off him and took him in her mouth. She tasted her arousal on his cock mixed with his pre-cum. Like hot velvet, her tongue pressed around his tip as she licked and tasted him like a lollipop. “This could be your Christmas present,” she said.
He hissed. She ran her tongue along the underside of his cock, felt the weight of his balls in her hands. She gave him a gentle tug. He squirmed.
“Was that too much?”
“Oh, honey, no. But if you don’t stop soon, I’m gonna—”
“Explode for me,” she whispered and took him all the way in her mouth again, and out, working him with her hand. A few more strokes and he came, shooting warm liquid against the back of her throat. After he’d come, his cock still pulsed in her mouth, and Angela felt a surge of pride.
She moved over to kiss him. “You taste good.”
“You taste even better.”
Angela sealed her lips over his and reached for his wrists. The knot came undone quickly, and Chris wrapped his arms around her waist as he tasted himself on her lips.
“I’d like to see you strip for me.”
She giggled. “Maybe later. I’m not finished with you.”
His eyes widened. “Really, now?”
She took his cock in hand and gave him a reassuring squeeze. “Really.”
Chris’ smile widened, as well. He tangled his fingers in her hair and brushed it aside. Angela caught a glimpse of them in the mirror on her wall. They looked perfect. Her heart felt like it was expanding in her chest as he stroked her back.
They lay together for another awhile in silence, but Angela’s body still ached for more. Chris’ cock nudged against her thigh. She was glad to have someone who could keep up with her demanding sex drive.
She rose and bent over Chris, giving him a view of her luscious breasts as they spilled out of her top. Straightening, she slipped off the skirt and turned around. She bent over again, slowly, catlike and removed her top then stood naked before Chris and let him drink in the sight of her.
Chris got up to meet her, crushed her body to his and kissed her fervently. She broke from their kiss and pushed him back down.
“Sit, lover boy,” she commanded. “This is for both of us.”

Dominant Vs. Alpha – For Carrie Anns Alpha Male Blog Hop
In a discussion with publicist Sharon Aviles, we’d discussed my teaching romance authors how to write BDSM and incorporate the elements of the Lifestyle into their romance stories. She’d said that the interesting thing was in traditional non kinky romances, we call Dominant males, Alphas.
Sure they may not be kinky but both men have to take charge of situations. Both men feel the need to control and the underlying reasons behind this need for control is generally the same. A belief that his way can guide his heroine into safety feeds his need to be a leader. I teach this often in my course on how to write from the male point of view. It’s aimed at romance authors but the lessons still apply to a broader spectrum of fiction writers.
Often times both men will be in powerful positions either as corporate CEOs or highly trained military experts, these men are used to getting their way.
In the bedroom we see similarities too. Whether he’s using ropes and handcuffs, spankings and scarves, or just good old fashion strength to make his point, he’s still on top. His goal is pretty much the same, drag something from the woman that she wants to give but doesn’t know how. She’s generally afraid to ask and that fear is often masked as stubbornness or anger. Sometimes it’s blatant fear.
As a guide, the dominant male must guide the submisisive on their journey towards inner peace, as the alpha male must show the reasons he’s overprotective. Bondage becomes a tool used to strip away control and bring out emotions needing to be dealt with while the Alpha male may use consensual force to do the same. In effect, he’s binding the heroine and making her choose another path, one that leads to growth, rather than stunted movement. Different plot devices can show us these traits from both sides. Using the react vs respond method of character development talked about on WriteSEX, we can get this accomplished as writers.
His ability to see past her defenses as an alpha male or Dominant is what spurs him on to guiding her. It’s not until he’s learned to grow through the plot that he realizes he’s guiding her as she’s guiding him, but that’s another article. In the end, the two types of men are really one and the same. Our labels are just for publisher and reader convenience as they help us define the characters for the appropriate markets.
When I wrote Lord Frika in Siddella’s Surrender, I definitely created a very sensual Alpha. He had to make decisions on the fly, aware of the potential consequences all while keeping in mind the outcome for his newly found power source, Siddella, the Thief of the Low court.
Enjoy an excerpt;
A wind blew through the empty streets. Military vehicles had made sneaking into the club difficult as they were on the lookout for Frika now. Word of the Thief of the Low Court escaping an assault had made it around military circles in the area.
Despite the fact that his strength slowly ebbed here, Frika was still stronger than anyone else, thank the Goddess above. It wouldn’t last though. Remaining in the Land Between Realms was the only way to truly keep his strength at full since the inception of the power draining grids here in Faery.
With some luck and the power he possessed, Frika managed to sneak past the guards in the fetish club Siddella had been led to. A bit of a slip up caused delay but once he’d found where the two MPs had taken Siddella, he made his way towards her.
Heart racing, he knew what he’d find. When he did find her, the power of their binding unleashed in him with such violence that it became impossible to control.
But the rule for the Black Angus was simple. The quieter one was, the more one could hear.
The two guards torturing Siddella had caused her to bleed profusely. Her wounded body smelled of burnt flesh. Ugly cuts marred her perfectly pale skin. Teeth marks on her shoulder, along with the bruises near her spine would have made a lesser being wince but Frika knew what had to be done.
The flesh and blood faery held his prick in hand, hard and ready to rape her.
Frika couldn’t have that. With quick speed, he’d cloaked himself in a spell, snapped the necks of both the guards and reappeared visible in time to reassure his lover that he was here in time for her.
Seeing her damaged body meant one thing.
He’d have to act without haste or she would die.
The fae had grown weak over the centuries from exposure to technology. Their true power came from the sensual, the sexual. The CyberMage had attempted to stomp that down when he stole the throne.
Somehow, Siddella had become a prude, listening to the propaganda that the city-state blathered about how only those who were sexually active held one purpose.
Procreation. It bothered him that any faery would take such a human, Christian stance.
“You’re safe with me now,” he whispered against her cold skin.
She shivered but remained unconscious.
Using the last of his magick, he repeated the invisibility spell that would hold long enough to sneak past some of her debtors and out of the club undetected.
Rejoining Virus and Anya just a few blocks away, he set Siddella’s body down against a wall. Taking off his floor length leather coat, he set it around her shoulders and adjusted her for comfort. “
Anya was the first to speak. “See you made it back safely. Good.”
Frika nodded. “They were nearly done with her.”
Virus shuddered visibly. “I hate this nightmarish world.”
Again, Frika nodded. Reaching into his pocket, he thumbed the flash drive. “She really is something else, isn’t she?”
Stepping forward, Anya held out her hand. “I need that drive if we’re going to analyze the holes in the security system and deactivate the grid.”
Frika fingered the drive. “What are your plans?”
“Get back to Earth and look at the data, of course. I have some friends who are almost like gods in their own right.” She gave him a wicked grin.
“So be it.” He tossed the drive to her. “Wait though. Could it really be that easy to shut the grid down?”
Siddella moaned. “Oh my fucking head.”
Frika knelt by her side and took her hands in his. “You’re awake.”
Shaking her head, she rubbed her eyes. “It’s possible because the Cyber-Fae aren’t very clever with their encryption methods. Despite the complex technology used here to create the mechanized beings, we’re still not that well advanced in security programming.”
Virus leaned back against a wall and crossed his arms. “You’re saying that an amateur could hack their systems?”
“No.” Siddella took in a deep breath and looked around.
Her magickal sensors hit Frika’s. He sent back calmness to her.
A few tanks drove by.
All four of them shrunk back into the shadows of the dark alleyway.
“It seems the city is on total lockdown since this revolution you started has come underway.”
Frika smiled. “Phase one.”
She turned to face Anya. “To better answer your question, no. The amateur hackers built a secure system based on your WHAX software. Faery magick and intellect enhanced it. But I’m a hacker. A true hacker, meaning I like to solve problems and be free doing it.” She glowered at Frika.
He shrugged his shoulders. “The ideal of submission is that there is freedom in slavery.”
She glared harder. Returning her glace at Anya and Virus, she continued. “Anyway, the truth is, I’m not that strong a fighter but I’m that good a cracker.”
“I see.” Anya slumped down beside Virus. “So what do we need to do when we get this back to Earth?”
“I’d have to come back with you to show you. It’d be easier to let me do it but this deity that Frika passed onto me,” she jerked her thumb in his direction, “won’t let me. She’s hell bent on murder.”
Frika sighed. The green hue of the sky had taken on a bright neon color. The land itself rotted around them, starting with the sky. He swallowed hard. “I’m thinking if the strikes continue on the various city-states while we make our escape back to Earth then you can do this?”
“It’s much better if we stay here and infiltrate them.”
He wanted to stop her and shut the idea down. But he couldn’t. Mate that she was, she was also someone who possessed knowledge he and the rest of the Black Angus did not. “What do you think, Anya?”
Anya shrugged. “What choice do we have?”
Frika’s lips pursed together in a thin line. “We need better control over your deity my sweet.” His eyes narrowed and groin hardened.
Backing up against the wall, Siddella put her hands up defensively. “Don’t look at me like that.”
He kept his voice to a low whisper. “I can help you control her.”
She started to stand but fell back against the wall and on her ass. “No!” She looked at him with wide eyes.
He stepped closer to her and held out his hand. With her snow white hair framing her face, she looked almost like a porcelain doll wearing an oversized coat. His heart beat an extra time at the fact that his tiny mate was not only skilled but nearly as stubborn as he was. “You’re the only faery I’ve ever met that rejected their sexuality. Do you realize you’d have more power if you’d accept yourself?”
Pulling the coat over her naked body, she looked away.
He knelt down before her and took her head in his fingers. Lifting her chin to meet his gaze, he studied her, noted flecks of gold in her dual colored red and silver eyes. She smelled of Unseelie, scents that reminded him of times of old.
Her bottom lip quivered.
Softly, he brushed his lips over hers. “You don’t have to fear me.”
“I don’t!” She retorted but the words didn’t come out as though they held meaning.

Health Update
If all my nurses and doctors could look like the above picture I’d find more reasons than just a fluttering heart to go into the hospital!
You may have seen my posts over the previous few days. I had to go into the Emergency Room for heart trouble last Thursday. I spent the entire day in the ER basically and came home to rest. Then promised I’d take the entire weekend off. I had no choice. It was pretty bad this time around and next time I’ll go in sooner. Spending 14+ hours in Afib is NOT fun.
But this week I have a neurologists appointment (today actually) and I see my cardiologist on the 24th. For the record this is only the first trip to the ER this year. Last year I was in twice, once for my heart and another time for nerve issues.
Writers in general aren’t healthy people. It’s not that we don’t try, many of us do. It’s just that sometimes shit gets in the way. Overworking, stress, emotional issues, living issues, and for a select few, abuse issues (chemical) cause problems but still we persevere to put out the books you’ve come to love and enjoy.
This is NOT an easy industry and if I COULD do something else it wouldn’t help. I’d be in music, HA!
At any rate, I’m working on Saint in Sinner’s Eyes and am halfway through it. Saritza assures me that it’ll only take a little more work to get Burning for Derrick where she wants it and then we can start pushing it to publishers and editors. She’s pretty pleased with it and that makes me feel really damn good.
After I finish Saint in Sinner’s Eyes I’ll post a few unedited excerpts for your pleasure.

The Real 50 Shades
I had an incident the other day that required me to think really hard about fiction vs. reality in the BDSM realm. The run in involved a fan of that 50 Shades nonsense that’s passing for erotic fiction these days. The person loved the book and from what I understand, Christian Grey is quite the dominant.
Only he’s fantasy.
The thing about that is that in reality, those men do exist and those scenarios do happen, frequently. There are whole sites dedicated to the fetish world. The problem with this was, the person I spoke to saw pictures of what “I” as a top do for my bottoms.
This is relevant to the writers world from several points of view. First, the marketing aspect. If you’re truly a fetish person AND a fetish writer, even if it’s erotic romance, you’re going to have a hard time selling to the mainstream unless you can pull off what E. L. James did and let the world know you’re not really kinky and that it’s really twilight fanfic gone mainstream without ripping off Twilight blatantly. Many fetish authors aren’t fetish and couldn’t really deal in the fetish world.
For our writers, a few definitions:
Top=the one doing. Not necessarily a Dominant, but not the one being done to
Bottom=the one being done to. Not necessarily a submissive but not the one doing.
Dominant and submissive can imply a power exchange.
The writer in me wants to go into my local dungeon, notepad and pen in hand and ask questions, take notes. Basically, the writer in me would put the Kinky Kontingent under a microscope. The Dominant in me wants the writer in me to understand what I do is intrinsic, taught to me and there’s much more going on than what’s being seen. The Writer in me yearns to understand the reality of a beating.
Let’s take a simple spanking scene. Just a short few swats on the ass, and break it down. This is adult content FYI and strap on play.
Ronan groaned, pressing his mouth against Valerieʹ shoulder. Grateful for the contact, Valerie continued to buck against Siddellaʹs cock, enjoying the contact of skin against skin while Siddella rubbed Ronanʹs swollen cock up and down her cheek.
Ronan slapped Valerieʹs ass cheek with his bare hand.
The sting burned, forcing Valerieʹs eyes shut. ʺItʹs your body, my prince,ʺ she cried through pain that was sure not to destroy her now.
Ronan slapped Valerieʹs ass again, hitting the other cheek.
Pain flared over her globes, her nipples hardening even further from the sting.
ʺYou like the spankings, donʹt you?ʺ Ronanʹs voice was gritty, hoarse from coming but his lips were firm against her skin. He licked a trail of fire up her arm, sending a shudder through her.
Valerie began purring. ʺYes, I like when your hands are on
me, my prince.ʺ
In that little bit of a scene, what happened was this: Ronan had already established trust with Valerie AND Siddella. Valerie trusted him from the earlier bit in the book where we established that she had a goal and so did Ronan. Even Siddella had a goal but hers was minimal in this part of the story. An emotional bond was deepened by his question. Her response, both physically and mentally reinforced that bond. Later on there is a little aftercare that helps the subs in question come to grips with what was done so they understand that Ronan is guiding them from his heart. The lesson Valerie had to learn involved parts of her life at 40+ years of age. Aftercare addresses the actual mentality going on.
But all you’d see in reality was the spanking, and her taking the dildo in her ass, and if you stood by close enough, you’d hear their dialogue.
In Reality: people play all the time like this and harder only after they’ve talked extensively.
In FICTION unless the book is a pure BDSM story where the heroine or hero is TOTALLY NEW, then we have to focus more on a deeper plot. In Gift of Her Submission, three different heroines are entering the kink world at three different stages of their lives. Siddella has been kinky all her life and yearns to explore love through pain, Valerie’s explored some but as a cougar she wants more, and Casey, is totally new to all of Ronan’s charms, yet seeks out comfort in a non traditional method. A little bit of dialogue and talk happens throughout the stories, interweaving Ronan’s past into you the reader.

Cover for Menage Bound, a romantic bdsm tale of an impending threesome
In reality I (and good dominants/tops) DO NOT PLAY WITH SOMEONE WITHOUT TALKING TO THEM TO LEARN WHAT THEY WANT, NEED, CAN HANDLE, CAN’T HANDLE. This does include some sordid past shit like abuse, but I only need to know what NOT to do to trigger something in the bottom’s head, unless we’re friends. But the bottom must trust me extensively. And as good with whips as I am, if I don’t feel comfortable with a certain tec
hnique or toy, I will NOT use it on them until I have done my research and actually played with the toy.
In fantasy, the kink still has to make make sense.
In reality, I don’t know why my bottoms laughed when I mentioned that the pill I was about to lick off her back fell off her ass. (Well, I do know, it was funny!) But that could be a fetish all itself.
I felt like a monster after my incident. But I’ve been told by others both Scene aware and Non that I’m not. YOU can however as an author use that as a plot device to craft a proper evil dominant. The evil guy always gets the plot lesson wrong anyway and that’s the reason for his or her demise.
If you’re curious about Gift of Her Submission, it’s on Amazon for a song!
If you need a menage fix, Menage Bound is here for you.

Interview yesterday went up at All I Want and More
Over the next few weeks I’m promoting an oldie but goodie, one of my earlier contemporary romances, “Stuck”
The fabulous folks at All I Want and More decided to have some fun. Questions answered included something about me that can’t be googled, what’s on my nightstand and well…you get the Bad Boy of Romance around a voracious reader and I think we know how this all turns out…
Might have had her naked by the time you read this.
The link for that interview is here. By the way, she was under me after you read and clicked on that link
Then, while searching for something else, I came across this: Review of The Playground by Sascha Illyvich from the ladies at The Forbidden Bookshelf
Says the reviewer “A fully enjoyable read and Iʼll be checking out more from the One Night Stand series, as well as from Sascha Illyvich.”
A beta reader got back to me with some badly needed corrections for Stalker, and I’m pretty thrilled about that. Yeah, there’s a back story on why it’s in my hands again. And I’ll save that for another blog post!
I’m pretty pleased with how things have fallen into place while I’ve been busy on another project.

Teaching – BDSM in Romance: Understanding and Writing the Lifestyle
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: This workshop is for authors particularly in the romance genre who dabble BDSM in any form, be it writing spanking stories, light bondage, or like myself, heavier darker things. Many folks think that once a book is written the author’s job is done. Not so. As any seasoned author knows, once we finish writing, we have edits, cover art choices, more edits, and of course the hype. Marketing, promotions. PR Hell as it is known in some circles. That’s the toughest part of any author’s job IMO and will make or break any author dumb enough to rely solely on the publisher. Our job as authors is a business and needs to be treated like such, even if we DO get to have a little more fun than any corporate schmo. So, in order of author responsibilities: 1. Establish the Brand (I’m Sascha Illyvich, paranormal erotica/BDSM romance author)
2. Maintain the Brand (Primarily through PR, I write about wolves, fae, vampires, but you’ll never see me write a western!)
3. Grow the Brand (I write paranormal romances, which puts me in with the anime crowd who likes dark fantasy!) This workshop will focus on Number 3: Grow the Brand. What authors often fail to realize is that in including different elements like spanking or light bondage that they are writing for their normal audiences but with a little more effort could target not just the fringe readers; those who are closeted about their darker desires, but those who are a little open with their darker desires.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER: As the Acknowledged Bad Boy of Romance, I have been writing and published in this genre for the last twelve years, worked two large BDSM events in Houston with HPEP, been actively involved on mailing list discussions, read a few books, met and spent time with Jay Wiseman (Author of SM 101: A Realistic Introduction) I occasionally write for Paddedkink.com, a BBW BDSM site. I’ve been on numerous BDSM panels am an active Lifestyle Dominant and have been vetted. Oh, and as I mentioned before, my Mom is a Lifestyle Domme – meaning when she realized that she enjoyed kinky sex, she sought out knowledge and became who she is today, teaching her son proper play. My previous workshop, Writing from the Male POV and creating better heroes was a success both at Coffee Time Romance and at Collette Thomas’s Erotic Workshop yahoo group. I have taught this workshop for HHRW RWA chapter and Savvy Authors.
