New Book out TODAY
The Shepherd and the Solicitor..
When a storm is brewing, taking shelter could be the most dangerous move of all.
One careless, public sign of affection cost Daniel Pierce’s lover his life at the hands of a hate-filled mob. Grief-stricken, Daniel retreated from society to a sheep farm in the wilds of the north. Years later, Gregory Tobin erupts into his solitary life.
Sent to confirm the existence—or the death—of the Pierce family’s lost heir, Tobin isn’t sure he’s found the right man. The gruff, shaggy hermit calling himself Jacob Bennet bears little resemblance to photographs of the younger Pierce. Tobin needs more time to study his quarry.
With lambing season in full swing, Daniel grudgingly admits he could use an extra hand. Through a long, exhausting night, they parry back and forth as Tobin probes closer and closer to the truth. And something beyond casual attraction simmers between them.
They come together in a crash of desire, but ultimately Daniel must overcome the terrors of the past to reconcile the man he was with the man he’s becoming—a man capable of loving again.
The Shepherd and the Solicitor
Product Warnings
Many sexy encounters on a sheep farm—NO, not like THAT!—between two adult males with temperaments as different as night and day.

A new Bonnie Dee / Summer Devon release!
Our latest m/m historical is out today!
The Bohemian and the Banker
Here, let me copy/paste from the blog we tend to forget we have. . . a description and some nice review bits.
A night lost in Paris finds two hearts changed—forever.
Sent to Paris on business, Nigel Warren doesn’t quite understand why his colleagues’ eyes twinkle as they tell him to meet them at a local night spot.
When he discovers it’s a drag cabaret and his acquaintances aren’t there, he realizes he’s the butt of a joke. Yet he finds himself quite undone by a singer dressed in an elegant gown, crooning a spellbinding ballad.
It’s not unusual for Jay, a former Londoner, to bring a new “friend” home from the cabaret, but he’s never had a guest quite like Nigel, whose straitlaced manner hides an unexpected passionate streak.
One romantic night on a rooftop under starry skies, followed by an afternoon enjoying the excitement of the 1901 Paris Exposition, bonds these opposites in a way neither can forget—even after they part.
Their spark reignites when Jay comes to London, but he’s not sure he can go back to hiding his true self, not even for the sake of love…unless Nigel is willing to shed his cloak of staid respectability and take a leap of faith.
Product Warnings
Contains a virgin who doesn’t speak French but is fluent in numbers, and a drag performer who is trilingual in English, French and Love. Not responsible for extra pounds brought on by the urge to dine on croissants au deux.

Summer Devon
Bonnie Dee and Summer Devon have written another delightful, feel-good sexy romance, confirming once again why they are an auto-buy for me. I highly recommend this writing team, their Bohemian, and their Banker; they’ll leave you smiling for the rest of your day.
--mmgoodbookreads
Though a good portion of this book is devoted to sensuality, the characters felt fully developed... We get to see the people under their facades—be they bland business suits and dolled-up frocks—and that gives this character-driven tale the required depth, purpose and meaning. The message of learning to love another as well as yourself continues to be relevant to this day. Recommended read.
--joyfully jay 4.75 stars
What a delicious, delightful historical read! This is the first historical I have read by this writing duo but I will be sure to pick up their other works!
I could feel the atmosphere of time and place. Both characters radiated their station and yet were wholly themselves....Even if historical isn’t necessarily your thing, this is a great story about compromise and love. Give it a try!
--prism alliance
The descriptions of everything from the food to the dresses to the smells to the art, you felt like you were walking down those streets with Nigel and Jay...So if you are planning to start right before bed, don’t. Or you may be lost and have to re-read. Or stay up until 3AM.

The Gentleman and the Lamplighter again
The Gentleman and the Lamplighter It's available for sale now--though I think it's still free online over at H&H.
Here's the story at Amazon, where it's doing well. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OXJYI84/r...
It's short, about 17,000 words. (I wrote it to fit the site's specific guidelines.) Yo, this is not a full-length novel and the shorter format seems to annoy people. So okay! You've been warned.

Happy release day to me!

neighbourly nosiness, some quirky humour, and a delightfully gentle

Yes, it's OUT TODAY
Must Loathe Norcross
"... I really had fun with it. I love Summer/Kate's writing and it always pulls me right through from start to finish. Recommended."
five stars from Eli Easton (I hope Eli doesn't mind that I borrowed this...)
It's out today! Right now! You can go buy a copy for less than the cost of a Barnes and Noble fancy drink that I'm planning on buying myself to celebrate release day! [fyi, a latte which I'm buying in about five minutes when the line here at Barnes and Noble gets shorter]
COVER COPY!
When it comes to love, there’s no such thing as traveling light.
Born wealthy and ambitious, Grady once worked hard and played hard—so hard, it brought him to the brink of ruin. Now, after a five-year retreat into the contemplative life, he’s dipping a toe back into the real world.
Assigned to write a series of articles about a Connecticut valley’s small towns, Grady checks into a local hotel. And meets a bellhop who seems determined to show him around…and maybe indulge in a more intimate tour later on.
When Josh’s boss half-jokingly suggests he get on a first-name basis with the writer who could make or break their town’s reputation, Josh jumps at the chance. He dreams of seeing the world, but the man he thought might be his ticket out turns out to be less influential—and more attractive—than he expected.
Together they uncover a strange plot to detour Norcross’s tourist dollars, a plot that leaves Grady bruised and angry. Now they’ll have to decide how far they’ll go to save the town…and how far they’ll fall for each other.
Product Warnings
Steaming-hot room service, delivered by a cute bellboy in uniform. Stolen towels will not be tolerated, but stolen hearts? Help yourself!

gotta love this footnote to the ruling in Idaho
[via Chris Hansen]. The 9th Circuit Opinion WIN!
Here's a real footnote, referring to governor “Butch” Otter's argument against same-sex marriage.
[footnote 12 from Page 21]
"He also states, in conclusory fashion, that allowing same-sex marriage will lead opposite-sex couples to abuse alcohol and drugs, engage in extramarital affairs, take on demanding work schedules, and participate in time-consuming hobbies. We seriously doubt that allowing committed same-sex couples to settle down in legally recognized marriages will drive opposite-sex couples to sex, drugs, and rock-and-roll"

NEW BOOK OUT TODAY!
another m/m historical by Summer Devon and Bonnie Dee...Happy release day to us!
Mending Him out today!
want to see a list of our reviews? Sure you do.
http://katerothwell.blogspot.com/2014...
That link also addressed an issue people have remarked upon.
But I'll put that up here too, because why not?
A few reviewers have wondered what was going on with poor Charles, who suffered with a mysterious illness that seemed to come and go.
It remained unnamed in the story because they syndrome wasn’t recognized until decades after Mending Him took place. Sufferers were often accused of hysteria, in part because they improved without any sort of outside treatment.
Did you guess?
SPOILERS (except is it called a spoiler if it's not actually named in the book?)
The quick answer copied from webmd/mayoclinic and maybe a bit from wikipedia (but not much because my family of scientists loathe that site):
Guillain-Barre syndrome was named after the French physicians Georges Guillain and Jean Alexandre Barré, who described it in 1916.
GBS is a rare disorder in which your body’s immune system attacks your nerves. Weakness and tingling in your extremities are usually the first symptoms.
These sensations can quickly spread, eventually paralyzing your whole body. patients usually reach the point of greatest weakness or paralysis days or weeks after the first symptoms occur. Symptoms then stabilize at this level for a period of days, weeks, or, sometimes, months.
The recovery period may be as little as a few weeks or as long as a few years. About 30 percent of those with Guillain-Barré still have a residual weakness after 3 years. About 3 percent may suffer a relapse of muscle weakness and tingling sensations many years after the initial attack. There is still no cure today.
