Reader's Favorite Review of Clyde and Wanda

Readers' Favorite announces the review of the Christian - Fiction book "Clyde and Wanda" by Cynthia Ulmer, currently available at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1442....

Readers' Favorite is one of the largest book review and award contest sites on the Internet. They have earned the respect of renowned publishers like Random House, Simon & Schuster, and Harper Collins, and have received the "Best Websites for Authors" and "Honoring Excellence" awards from the Association of Independent Authors. They are also fully accredited by the BBB (A+ rating), which is a rarity among Book Review and Book Award Contest companies.

"Reviewed By K.C. Finn for Readers' Favorite

Clyde and Wanda is a work of fiction with Christian themes and plenty of interpersonal family drama and was penned by author Cynthia Ulmer. In this second novel in The Cedar Cove Chronicles, we find ourselves following the Jansen family seven years after the events of book one, in which Todd wondered about his Uncle Clyde who had disappeared whilst off at war. Now Clyde has returned and gotten married, started a family and a business. He had hoped life would finally settle down for himself and his wife Wanda, but the past always finds a way of catching up with us when we least expect it.

Author Cynthia Ulmer writes family fiction with plenty of details and nostalgic, highly descriptive moments. The atmosphere of the work overall makes it feel like you’re living in a black and white movie, with strong characters who are easy to relate to. Wanda’s backstory becomes more interesting and heart-breaking by the minute, making for an intriguing plotline that develops the family dynamics more and more. Readers who appreciate a strong message of Christian values such as faith and devotion are sure to enjoy the novel on that level too, and Clyde makes for a strong hero in that respect as he tries to keep his life together despite the ever-present threat of trauma and trouble returning. Overall, Clyde and Wanda makes an excellent addition to a strong family saga with plenty of vivid characters and memorable moments: a recommended read."

Do you live next door to a "Horace"?

Horace is James' next door neighbor. Is he really as crazy as he acts? How far will he go? Have you ever thought that the more you helped a bad person, the nicer they would become, only to find out that they hated you even more? Well even as James and the leaders of Cedar Cove tried their best to Pray the HELL out of HORACE, he refused to change. Was it that, deep in his heart, he wanted to be like James, the role model and pillar of the community? What was wrong with Horace? He did ask James, as he road wildly on his horse, for James to send him to HEAVEN. Even little Lilly Jean begged her daddy, James, to please send Horace to Heaven. Maybe James should have listened.....to Lilly Jean a whole lot sooner....... (You gotta read Todd, The Cedar Cove Chronicles, Book One....you will never look at your neighbors the same !!!).

The Cedar Cove Chronicles.

The books in my series, The Cedar Cove Chronicles, follow each other in a chronological order. The first book, Todd, is set in 1943 and deals with the Jansan's family's struggles with their neighbors, the Hammonds and with the circumstances surrounding Todd's uncle Clyde.
The next book, Clyde and Wanda, jumps ahead seven years to 1950. Clyde is now married, has a daughter and a baby on the way. Much of Clyde and Wanda tells of Wanda's past, and the mystery of her upbringing is brought to light.
'Cella follows closely to Clyde and Wanda as it is set in 1952 and ends in 1953. It is told through the girlfriend of Jesse Jenkins (Todd Jansan's close friend).
Trudy begins in 1954 and is a very important book in the series. It is the most detailed and longest so far and ended to be continued.
Mark, the fifth book is the conclusion of Trudy. It begins directly where Trudy left off.
The final book in this series will be Lilly Jean, which is in progress now and will be published sometime in the future.
All of these books are set in North Carolina, have a down-home southern feel to them and a Christian background. Christian and family themes are woven throughout and the message of redemption appears in each one.
To all who have read any of my books, I thank you and hope you have enjoyed them.

April 17, 2014

Hi!

Ok, I'm new to this blogging business. I've been writing all my life but this is the first time I've blogged. Lol.
Anyhow, I'd like to introduce myself. Of course, I'm Cynthia Ulmer, but to all my friends and family, I'm Cindy. I actually write Southern Literature but I can't find a genre for that so I just list it as fiction, family saga, relationships, etc. My books, The Cedar Cove Chronicles, follow the lives of the Jansan family and their friends in the Southeastern North Carolina community of Cedar Cove.
My books are in no way related to Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove. I made up the name from a combination of the street I live on and the word cove just popped into my head. I started writing my Cedar Cove books in the early 90's. At the time, I hadn't heard of her Cedar Cove books. I hope she has continued success with her Cedar Cove world and I pray that I will begin to see success in my world of Cedar Cove, North Carolina. Hope you all have a fun day reading.
