Hark the Glad Sound
As we eagerly anticipate our first week of Advent, here is one of our favorite hymns to help prepare your hearts for the celebration of Jesus' birth.
Hark the Glad Sound
Hark the glad sound! The Savior comes,The Savior promised long;Let ev'ry heart prepare a throneAnd ev'ry voice a song.
He comes the pris'ners to release. In Satan's bondage held. The gates of brass before Him burst,The iron fetters yield.
He comes the broken heart to bind,The bleeding soul to cure,And with the treasures of His graceTo enrich the humble poor.
Our glad hosannas, Prince of Peace,Thy welcome shall proclaim,And heav'n's eternal arches ringWith Thy beloved name.

Book Preview ~ The Sound of Rain
The Sound of Rain, by Sarah Loudin ThomasJudd Markley is a hardworking coal miner who rarely thinks much past tomorrow until he loses his brother--and nearly his own life--in a mine cave-in. Vowing never to enter the darkness of a mine again, he leaves all he knows in West Virginia to escape to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It's 1954, the seaside community is thriving, and Judd soon hires on with a timber company.
Larkin Heyward's life in Myrtle Beach is uncomplicated, mostly doing volunteer work and dancing at the Pavilion. But she dreams of one day doing more--maybe moving to the hollers of Kentucky to help the poor children of Appalachia. But she's never even met someone who's lived there--until she encounters Judd, the newest employee at her father's timber company.
Drawn together in the wake of a devastating hurricane, Judd and Larkin each seek answers to what tomorrow will bring. As opposition rises against following their divergent dreams, they realize that it may take a miracle for them to be together. Buy the book HERE.

Happy Thanksgiving
Wishing you a Happy Thanksgivingfrom Our Family to Yours.
Now Thank We All Our God
Now thank we all our God, With hearts and hands and voices.Who wondrous things has done, In whom His world rejoices;Who from our mothers' arms Has blest us on our wayWith countless gifts of love And still is ours today.
Oh may this bounteous God Through all our life be near us.With ever joyful hearts And blessed peace to cheer usAnd keep us in His grace And guide us when perplexedAnd free us from all ills In this world and the next!
All praise and thanks to god The Father now be given,The Son and Him who reigns With them in highest heaven; The one eternal God, Whom earth and heav'n adore; For thus it was, is now, And shall be ever more.

Images of Autumn
Fall is my favorite season.
I love the cooler weather,
the changing colors in the trees
and native pastures.
I love when we experience our first frost or hard freeze,
and yes, even the shorter length of days. (Pictures by our youngest daughter, Abigail.)
