A Simple, Yet Beautiful Message from Tana Dungsey Rinpoche

A few years ago, Tsoknyi Rinpoche requested Tana Dungsey Rinpoche to teach to students in the West. Tana Dungsey Rinpoche continues to teach in many other parts of the world including Malaysia, Indonesia, and India. He wants us to know that the purpose of this short video is to offer positive motivation to contemplate the messages and to inspire people to practice. Click here to watch the video.

Tana Rinpoche also provides general guidance and instructions to Tibetan sanghas in Connecticut, New York, and Colorado. He teaches in both Tibetan and English. For more information about Tana Rinpoche, please visit his website at www.tanayelpa.org.

Mount Madonna, CA Retreat Cancellation

Dear Friends,

We are canceling the Mount Madonna retreat currently scheduled from April 25 to May 1, 2020, due to the potential spread of the Covid 19 virus. Mount Madonna administrators are also very concerned about their staff’s exposure to large groups and public gatherings. We do not want to put anyone at risk or unintentionally help spread this disease.

We have rescheduled this retreat at Mount Madonna to December 13 to 19, 2020. There are two options for you to consider:

1) Receive a full refund for tuition and room/board payments. These would take a couple of weeks to process either through credit card reimbursement via Paypal or by check if you registered over 90 days ago. Please note that the fees will be returned to the credit card used at the time you registered. If that card has been canceled or changed, please let the Registrar know right away at Registrar@pundarika.org.

2) Transfer your fees to the rescheduled time. We will work with Mount Madonna to ensure that your room selections are maintained.

Please indicate your choice on the form at this link:

https://forms.gle/Jtj7KrnxNLAFY47A7

We encourage you to say prayers for all the people who have died, are sick or quarantined, and their families. We can also say prayers for all the healthcare workers and first responders who face this disease every day.

For those of you registered for the Crestone retreats in August, we are evaluating with Rinpoche, utilizing many sources of information, whether or not these retreats will stay open.

Warmly,

The Pundarika Staff

Yogini Project Update

The Yogini Project, operated by Michael Ash, aimed to bring “the inspiring stories of female meditators and spiritual practitioners to the greater world. Through modern media, we connect the global community with the inspiration and wisdom of accomplished female practitioners.”   The Yogini Project’s website prominently featured an interview with Tsoknyi Rinpoche on the homepage as well as references to Rinpoche’s work with the Nangchen and Gechak Nuns.

In November 2019, at least five women who were employees, contractors, or volunteers for The Yogini Project accused Mr. Ash of financial improprieties and inappropriate personal behavior.  Mr. Ash denies the allegations, and they have neither been proven nor disproven.  In light of the allegations, Pundarika Foundation has suspended its support of The Yogini Project.

Until December 2019, The Yogini Project operated as a nonprofit project under the umbrella of another nonprofit organization (fiscal sponsor).  The relationship has ended and The Yogini Project may not currently receive charitable donations.  Mr. Ash suspended fund raising solicitations in December.  Accordingly, donors in the Pundarika community are advised not to make further contributions to The Yogini Project.

In January 2020, Michael Ash voluntarily decided to windup and dissolve The Yogini Project and shut down the website and related social media.  As of January 18, 2020, all references to Tsoknyi Rinpoche, The Pundarika Foundation, The Tsoknyi Humanitarian Foundation, Tsoknyi Lineage Nuns, Tsoknyi Nepal Nuns, Tsoknyi Gechak Ling, Tsoknyi Gechak School, Tsoknyi Gargon Ling, and Tsoknyi Tongdro Ling have been removed.
